Shaws is very clean, fair prices (often cheaper than the nearby Market Basket), the in-​store bakery has excellent products, extended hours — what’s not to like ?
In contrast, the nearby Market Basket is cramped, crowded, not nearly as inexpensive as some believe. The Deli often smells so bad a maggot would retch. And their in-​store bread has less flavor and goes moldy much quicker than anything from Shaw’s.

I don’t shop here often as I am typically at Market Basket, however, tonight I was running late and Shaws was the one open. I find they are on par with Stop and Shop price wise and more expensive than Market Basket. Their produce section is beautiful and they have a nicely organized and fairly large organic/​natural/​gluten free section.
They have good deals and you don’t need a card anymore to get the sales/​deals at checkout. The night retail manager, Marie, was so kind and super helpful. The store was clean and well organized as a whole.

Fairly typical Shaws. I’m a healthy eater and their organic section is smaller than my last Shaws.
Also, I’m a late night shopper and I went around 10pm and it was totally empty. Coming from Somerville where it’s busier at midnight, this was quite a shock. Ahh Salem

Shaws provides a well run super market. The produce section is well maintained and the actual produce is good and fresh. Good deli and fish selections at affordable prices. Shaws is one of my preferred food shopping destinations.

Produce department stocked well and clean. Nice assortment of salad dressings which made it difficult to narrow the decision down to one. I was super excited to find Pure Organic bars (which Whole Foods didn’t have) in Cherry, Blueberry, Chocolate and Apple! I wanted some sorbet but the containers had frosty ice hanging off of the sides so I opted out. The cashier was quick and thanked me for bagging for her.

Standard chain grocery store. The prices are reasonable enough, and most of the staff is friendly. Good selection of food items, they have their Wild Harvest brand organic pricey mucky mucky stuff and coupons that are good like the $ 8 and $ 10 off a certain amount plus other promos. Has all that I need in a grocery store.
