The only thing stopping me from rating this one star is the hair stylists. I went here to get my hair, make-up, and nails done for prom. My hair turned out beautifully. The highlights looked vibrant. However, It seemed like the nail artist who did my nails didn’t know how to design. I asked for nail art, and she couldn’t do what I suggest. In other words, it was a complete waste of money. Worst pedicure I’ve ever had. Don’t get me started on how god awful the make-up artists there are. They don’t even know fundamentals like how to correctly wing eyeliner. Not to mention getting your make up done is expensive. DONOTGOHEREFORSPECIALOCCASIONMAKE-UP. I ended up just doing it myself. I have far better skill than the artists there. They don’t know how to contour, apply eye shadow, or put on false eyelashes. They should be embarrassed that they even offer make-up services.

I have had a string of bad luck with hair stylists, ranging from«just absolutely terrible» to «not a bad haircut but definitely not what I asked for». I had just about given up hope and was just going to let my hair grow out and do whatever it was going to do if it meant I didn’t have to deal with this type of situation again. However, a friend recommended Kerrie-Ann at Russell’s Salon. I figured I might as well give it a shot, as my pixie cut was starting to get pretty mullet-like in the back… I am so glad I was willing to go! Kerrie-Ann did an excellent job! I was fighting a headache at the time, so I was honestly totally non-eloquent and had a really hard time trying to explain what I wanted. But Kerrie-Ann was great about being really patient and making sure she really understood what I was looking for before diving in. My hair looks great and feels great and I am looking forward to heading back as I keep working on growing it out into the haircut I really want. She also gave a good recommendation for a hair product that meets my laziness related hair needs. As for the salon as I whole, it is a nice space and a nice environment. The front desk staff were welcoming. I liked that they had tea available. It definitely helped with the headache situation. I didn’t like the music that was playing, but honestly, I don’t like a lot of music, so I don’t know how fair that is to them… I highly recommend this salon in general, and Kerrie-Ann in particular.

Visited for the first time for a mini pedicure. I enjoyed the soothing warm wrap for my shoulders, the foot soak, exfoliation and nail care. The employees were all very pleasant to talk to. Great selection of top brand polishes. The paint job on my toes wasn’t very good though, probably the worst I’ve had from a salon. I had to pick a lot of extra polish off my toes when I got home. Overall it was spendy for a mini pedicure(no massage), and it took twice as long as promised(1 hour vs 30 mins). The first floor of the place is very modern, but the downstairs area designated for nails seemed a bit drab and outdated.

Very clean and trendy, but like most businesses like this, a bit expensive.

Had a Brazilian wax at Russels on the recommendation of a friend. I have had Brazilians before so I knew what to expect. The first go she didn’t get all the hair so she had to redo certain areas. On top of that she used the same spatula and kept redipping it in the community wax pot. Gross. I am never goin there again. ICK
