We drive past at least six other Mexican stores on our way here, and for good reason. If we need something they’ll have it, it’s inexpensive and they carry quality ingredients for our food. There are fantastic flour tortillas to be had. I’ve gotten tomatoes, cilantro and other produce here that is clean and fresh unlike many other similar stores. Then there is the Pan Dulce! It is so good I have to avert my eyes from them or else they wind up in my tummy. The meat we get here for Mexican dishes always looks fresh and tastes great. Now my pet peeve. My husband speaks Spanish fluently but still the amount of meat received is always more than we asked for. I’m not talking an ounce, more like ¼ or ½ a pound extra. I ended up with way more Pozole than necessary for two people recently because of this enthusiastic butchering(the phrase too much Pozole sounds blasphemous). Most likely if we just paid attention before leaving, the butcher would remedy the mistake. ps. There’s a Taqueria inside the store that smells good but I probably will never try it because Aiberto’s is right across the street.
