Always a first Class. Although I was shocked to hear that one of the owners, Will, his partner passed about a year ago. That was so very sad to hear. But, we outside on the deck, had drinks, ravioli appetizer, hanger steak, and key lime pie for desert. All fantastic.

Beautiful patio with amazing views of the creek. Their bar is fun and you can also see the creek from it. The kettle chips with balsamic, truffle oil and Bleu cheese appetizer was outstanding and nothing like I’ve ever had before. The spinach artichoke dip was excellent too. For dinner I had the salmon with honey glaze which I really enjoyed but my boyfriend’s hanger steak was even better. Do NOT leave without ordering the cheesecake. Life changing. Overall a beautiful setting and gorgeous historical building. Plus the service was excellent. You can’t go wrong.

Lovely location and pleasant evening. We were passing through Salado on a Tuesday night, and stopped in and found it to be Mexican food night. The food was good, but the margaritas were maybe a 2 out of 5. Location was the selling point. We sat on the porch overlooking the rushing water. Enjoyed the evening tremendously. The staff was also just right— charming but not too attentive! There when you need him, but not hovering. We will be back now that we have found this place.

went to the Distillery a few weeks ago. A young lady named Madison served my mom and me. I have never had such fantastic service. This makes me want to go back again and again. Way to go Madison

This place is just beautiful, The food is wonderful and the people who work here know hospitality and how to take care of customers. I recommend for large or small groups any day of the week. Reservations are not needed; however, make reservations if you have a group larger than 4 especially if you want to be near the bar area as it it kind of small. The food is worth the price, but expect a higher class gourmet restaurant. They were able to find us a baby chair for the table, but I got the feeling they don’t get many babies there. Not sure I’ll being the baby next time. I had the lamb and it was prepared perfectly. The next day I ordered out from the bar menu, and was surprised by the presentation and taste. I must say the sliders and shrimp tacos were fantastic! I would recommend Alexander’s to anyone. The food is great and the people are wonderful!

The chimichuri sauce paired with the lamb chops was fantastic. I was sopping it up with bread after the lamb was gone!

Good food. I would definitely recommend. Décor is very simple and it is difficult to get a good view of the creek no matter where you sit.

Enjoyable dinner under the watchful eye of Chef Don Woessner. Unique appetizer of crab meat baked in an avocado. Don’t forget to top it off with the spicy aioli; it brings the dish to life. The smoky Gouda was the star of the local cheese plate. Jerk seasoned quail won the day. Amazing sweet first bite with a cinnamon undertone which turned to mild heat with cumin and cayenne. Cooked perfectly moist, no small challenge for these delicate fowl. Perfectly grilled hanger steak a little overwhelmed by the volume of blue cheese and shallot butter, but delicious with just a bite. Lovely Crème Brûlée served with its caramelized sugar cap oh so lite… Sharing a glass of wine with the chef at our table was the highlight. Listening to his culinary journey to this remote location from his Korean and German roots. Great ending to a fine meal.

Decent food. Great location and ambiance. Pretty expensive for what you receive. The bleu cheese chips were decent and what originally brought us in.

Absolutely beautiful estate! The third floor balcony has an amazing view. Try a specialty drink, too many look fabulous to pick just one. The hanger steak is highly recommended and the Dijon chicken is a close second. These dishes will not disappoint. The asparagus, couscous and haricot vert were wonderful additions. This place is an amazing décor and delightful atmosphere. Make time for a meal here and enjoy the southern charm and hospitality.

My wife and I usually drive to Austin for good food and drink but we are always hoping for fine dining in our area. Unfortunately, the menu here is stuck in the 1980s. Everything was«good» but with amazing menus just down the road in Austin«good» is really below average. We had crab cakes for our app, my wife had the local cheese selection for her main course, I had rack of lamb and we had tres leches cake for dessert. I had Salado Winery red blend and my wife had an unremarkable white wine. All«good», including the service. The setting is beautiful and romantic, especially on such a beautiful Texas evening. Big complaints: No Texas craft beer, which is inexcusable, and crackers from a box to go with the local cheese. Come on, chef, learn to bake some bread. Ritz crackers is just culinary laziness. And can’t you find at least one Texas craft beer for your menu? I like Shiner but again, look around at what’s happening just up the road in Austin. We won’t return. Innovate, take a chance, be creative.

We are new to the area and decided to try this place out based on the reviews and it did not disappoint! Our server was Eric and he was a joy!!! Extremely helpful and such a delight! The best fine dining in the area. I have never had anything here that wasn’t delicious. I can highly recommend anything they make with quail or rack of lamb. Beer selection needs microbrew options but wine menu is spectacular. Be prepared for price but is to be expected for the quality of the restaurant. Finish your meal with the Crème Brûlée it is to die for. It has become my wife’s and my place for special occasions.

Stopped in on a Friday night recently without reservations. We’d called ahead and were seated right away, albeit at a table in the first room right next to the dishwasher, where we could hear every dish being rinsed. They immediately apologized because they were«short a server», so we were waited on by a couple of different young men. They took our order and the food was good. I had the hanger steak($ 20) and my wife had the quail($ 22). She said the quail was«meh», nothing fabulous. The risotto on her plate had a taste to it(she called it a «twang») we couldn’t identify… good, but different. I enjoyed my meal, though some of the potatoes were black(but they tasted great.). The meat was tender, with a very flavorful sauce. The dessert was a different story. We ordered the key lime pie to share and were immediately disappointed. The serving was tiny and the crust was mush, almost like it had been sitting for days. I even mentioned to the server when our check came that I really felt $ 8 for the tiny pie was a little steep. I have to say, though, that we ate it all… just didn’t take long to do that. Seemed like the staff disappeared for a while after serving dessert, took some time to receive our check. The server did say that he’d spoken to the chef about the pie and that he’d agreed with my assessment and that«changes would be made» — but it stayed on our tab. Total bill was $ 69 pre-tip, no alcohol. My wife thought it would be nice to return for lunch, but we’ll probably go elsewhere if we ever need to eat dinner in Salado again.

Absolutely best food in town. Atmosphere was warm and inviting and our server, Christian, was very helpful and explained every item on the menu! This is definitely our go to place from now on. The chefs choice menu was great and very filling. Fine dining meets down home comfort.

This is one of my favorite places to dine in Salado. The food is great, the servers are awesome, and the atmosphere is the best! I reserved the top floor for my birthday party a few years ago and it was by far the best.

BESTBAR in town! I frequent this quaint, yet rather spacious multi-level bar whenever I’m in town. Nestled in the heart of Salado, Texas lies the ever-so fabulous«Alexander’s Distillery» which can be found on the up-stairs level of Inn on the Creek’s restaurant. Owner’s Will Lowery & Chris Spradley will delight you beyond your wildest dreams; their unrivalled hospitality gives a whole new meaning to «southern hospitality»! Along with the endless list of beers, wines, and spirits comes a fantastic menu selection available whenever the bar is open and all prepared by the wonderfully acclaimed Chef Denise Woods. The distillery offers a split-level bar with multiple flat-screen televisions, several tables to sit at, including two spacious patios for creek-side viewing, as well as a few coach’s to relax in, and a number of «hidden» rooms to get away in. Furthermore, you’ll be wowed by the numerous paintings, artwork, and sculptures placed throughout the facility by the innkeepers — they truly do make you feel as though you’re a part of Salado! No need to make reservations for this bar; however, if you’re planning a large and/or private event, know that this too can be accommodated upon request. I would recommend this place to any and all of my friends, family, and customers whom I cater to on a daily basis. Bravo Boys!!!
