Loved the cupcakes in the pass but very disappointing experience this past weekend. Cupcakes ordered on a Thursday to be picked up on agreed time on Saturday. Imagine my surprise when I found the door locked at 11am. Next door establishment said«she» had been coming and going last several days. I called and left a message expressing my displeasure. I never got a return call. Later in day my son was next door and found the establishment open and got my order but the order was incorrect as to number ordered. Never going back and will let others know of this very unprofessional service.

Terrible service. Never open on time. This is the second time we’ve come here and they are not open as advertised.

What can I say who doesn’t love a cupcake? I was eating at a restaurant next-door when I saw this little place and I thought I had to go try it out. When you first walk in it looks nice the cupcakes are on display it makes you feel like you’re about to spend five dollars on a cupcake but it’s worth it. I ordered a chocolate cupcake which was supposed to be like a fancy version of a hostess cupcake which I thought will be perfect because when I was a kid it was one of my favorite treats.

Great cupcake place on small island! Cupcakes were amazing especially liked the peanut butter! Business is absolutely worth supporting.

Yes, the cupcakes are delicious — moist cake with a mound of fluffy frosting that’s not overly sweet. There was a pretty good choice of flavours, but at $ 3.75 per cake, we were not about to break open the piggy bank for more. Yes, they are«artisan»(read: pretty) but they are a bit pricey for cakes. We sat in the very pink room to enjoy a red velvet cupcake & a hot fudge sundae cupcake. The boy endured the cute décor & practically inhaled his cupcake. It was adorable. Then he said we had to leave.

We have been here a couple times and so far have tried the Red Velvet, Cookies & Cream, Chocolate Cream, and Salted Caramel Pretzel flavors of their cupcakes. They were all very good. Service was very good, very friendly. The Red Velvet tasted like a standard, run of the mill Red Velvet, nothing extraordinary about it. The Cookies & Cream was a very standard chocolate cake, but the icing was incredibly rich and very tasty. I couldn’t finish the whole thing. The Chocolate Cream cupcake tasted like a better version of the classic cream-filked Hostess cupcake. The chocolate icing was very thick and rich. My favorite of all the flavors we’ve tried so far is definitely the Salted Caramel Pretzel. It’s the same standard chocolate cupcake as the Cookies & Cream and Chocolate Cream cupcakes, but the caramel frosting is to die for. I LOVE caramel, but I don’t like caramel flavored things– there’s a huge difference. This frosting is thick and rich, the consistency of real caramel, tastes like the real deal and is topped with a generous amount of sea salt. It was amazing. $ 16 for 4 cupcakes is pretty steep, so this is only a special occasion thing for us, but I’ll definitely be back for another Salted Caramel cupcake soon ;)

Small Cakes knows how to make a great cupcake. The chocolate cake is my favorite, and the caramel icing is the best. The cake is very moist, and the icing is like pure melted caramels; so yummy. I also like the Carrot Cake cupcake, it has a wonderful flavor and texture as well. The cake and the icing are in perfect balance, so the combined cupcake is not too sweet. Be sure to start a punch card for a free cupcake because you will be back for more.

Really moist cakes and not too sweet on the frosting. Pretty to look at and even better to eat!

We don’t come to St. Simon’s without making a trip to Small Cakes during our stay and then one for the«To Go» cupcakes. They are simply the best. Some reviewers have complained about the price but single cupcakes, no matter where you get them, are not $ 1.29…This is not Winn Dixie either. These are quality cupcakes that are consistent in their freshness and flavor. Often times they will have 4 for $ 10 days. Hoping to catch one of those on our next visit!

I love the décor and the selection was unreal. I took my date here and she got a red velvet and I salted Carmel. This cake was huge, fresh and moist. I brought 2 home for my parents and everyone went crazy over them. I was impressed the girl behind the counter new each flavor and was super helpful. I have went back 3 times and they are usually packed. Only thing they are limited to16 flavors a day that they change of well over a hundred. So you may not get the one flavor you had the last time you went. But I understand you can’t make 150 plus different flavors a day. I wish we had one in Waycross.

Sooooo many choices, but my favorite is the salted caramel on either the vanilla or chocolate cupcake. I really like the high ratio of icing to cake. However, I was introduced to the chocolate chip cookie sandwiches tonight, and I won’t be leaving any of those next time I visit! Hope you are not in line behind me…

If you’re looking for good quality cupcakes and it being easy on your wallet, don’t go here. I’d rather go to Pam-Pams in downtown brunswick.

I really wanted to LOVE this place since it was so adorable, but I didn’t LOVE the cupcakes. The ratio of cake to frosting was 50:50, making the frosting, which was already extremely rich, overpowering. FYI — gluten-free cupcakes are sold on Saturdays.

Great cupcakes, and a nice little treat after Southern Soul perhaps. Fun atmosphere that our kid adored.

First time in the store today, and we lucked out as it was Happy Hour(4 for $ 10). They had many different flavors to choose from. We brought the cupcakes home, and they were delicious. However, my only critical point(and the reason for 3 stars) is because the young girl behind the counter, although very pleasant, did not wear gloves, nor did she wash her hands in between handling money and the food… very unsanitary, and, nowadays, inexcusable. I can’t believe this to be the norm, and I really regret and don’t know why I didn’t question this at the time. I’m sure when I’m on the island again I will stop in, but next time I will definitely speak up should it happen again. And then walk out.

Wish I could share how wonderful these cupcakes were. I’ve read and heard great things. Walk in after dinner and there is NOSTOCK. Now maybe Thursday is cupcake day and there was a rush. But this is not good enough for a renowned company in a resort area during high season.

The margarita cupcake was yummy. The cream cheese based based frosting was rich and tasty. The cake was fresh tasting and not dry. As far as chain cupcakeries go, I still prefer Crumbs but Smallcakes is a close 2nd.

We tried the Chocoholic, something that looked like a chocolate Hostess cupcake, the red velvet and a chocolate cupcake with caramel frosting and pretzel bits. Upside: moist cupcakes But: lacked depth of flavor in the cake and frosting. Too bland. Like it looks very chocolate but doesn’t taste chocolate enough. I didn’t like any of the frostings — the one on Chocoholic and the red velvet were whipped and the Hostess-ish one was a thick chocolate frosting but didn’t taste like ganache. The caramel frosting was a strange consistency, same with the Hostess-ish. Oh well. Very friendly service.

The cupcakes tasted very moist & fresh. The icing was too sweet for my taste but overall very good. I just took off half of the icing which worked. Satisfied my cravings for a good cupcake.

Love these cupcakes! Really cute place… They have old doors with glass over them as tables. They are conveniently located too.
