Wow… bar tender wanted to fight us just because we asked for one last round and he wanted to go home. Dirty local hang out and bar tender was giving out free drinks to them. Hopefully the owner knows about it. We were visiting from Dallas and it was one of the worst experience we’ve ever had.

Honestly, I tend to forget how the food is when service is poor and bartenders are rude. Nothing special about this place except it’s one of the only Mexican eateries. Your typical El Nopal type.

Food was mediocre at best; very westernized and lacking flavor. The presentation was just bad. Chips were stale and the salsa wasn’t awesome. Even the drinks left so much to be desired. I had family visiting from out of town at this restaurant and I really wish I had chosen a different place. Two stars because the server was fantastic.

Average. Not crazy about their salsa. Pretty good service, a little overpriced, and somewhat decent entrée. Probly won’t visit again. My wife liked it though! We disagree on most everything ;)

My fault. I should know better than eating Mexican food in Georgia. Service was great. Food maybe 2 stars

Pretty good food but the service sucks. If you are a large«gratuity included» party, prepare to have the worst service of everyone in the restaurant. The food is 4 – 5 stars but the service is 1 – 2. We have even had to go in and ask the waitress to put our order in because she was too busy talking to all the people by the register and couldn’t multitask. 45 minutes later we finally got the order put in and the workers in the kitchen were all standing around on their phones, you can see through the window into the kitchen. Unfortunate since the food is so good.

Well shoot! Had to update review after a couple less than great experiences. One star for the patio, another star for the chips and salsa which is quite good. The food overall is two star quality. Somewhat pricey for Mexican and generally unimpressive. Service is hit or miss. Smiling is not a requirement I guess, but helps. Especially when automatically adding 20% gratuity to the bill? The menu states«No Separate Checks For Parties Over 6 During Peak Season, Gratuity May Be Added». It wasn’t peak season, we had 6 people, it was 430pm, and frankly the service was not worth 20% on this occasion. We may choose other restaurants.

DONOTGOTOTHISBAR! Bartenders have no idea what customer service is. Every time I ordered a drink I would tip reasonably, but according to them they felt they were«entitled» to a bigger tip. It got so bad that after ordering 6 $ in drinks and paying with a 10 dollar bill they took my money and never gave me my change. WOW! Never have I ever experienced service like this. If they were to let the bartenders go this place might be ok.

BARTENDERSHERESUCK! I was truly disappointed with the customer service in this establishment. The bartender literally took my order placed my drink on the bar, took a second look at me and placed my beer back in the fridge. I tried to get his attention and he ignored me. The other bartender told us that someone didn’t tip, so he wasn’t going to serve me. Not knowing that I had my tab already open and $ 60+ on my tab already and I’m a generous tipper I closed it and left it zero tip. If bartenders are trying to make good tips it should reflect on their customers service. These guys were clowns!

This is a great place to go for Mexican cuisine. The food is delicious. The place is quaint and clean. It can be crowded on the weekends. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The barbecue burrito is great. We always go to Bubba’s when visiting St. Simons.

Went here for a night out of drinking. Packed with people in their 20s. Small bar so it was hard to move around. The Drinks are pretty big and cheap. If you’re looking for a college-style night out its a good place.

I was really expecting good food after reading the reviews on here and I was very disappointed. They don’t filet the water so anything with water or ice has a sulfer taste. The chips and salsa were mediocre and and food was not worth finishing. Was worth 2 people who had the same experience. I won’t go there again and I decimated won’t take anyone! Cilantro is much much better.

Finger lickin awesome! My vegetarian wife was in the mood for quesadilla while on vacation in St. Simon Island and this happened to be the closest mexican restaurant to East Beach so we decided to give this a try. The place was packed and luckily for us, had just one table for two available when we entered. We were greeted immediately with one of the best salsa’s I’ve had and chips. We also ordered the queso dip($ 1ONLY) and that was superb as well. The wife ordered quesadilla with veggies and I got the two taco combo(taco de pescado & cali club). The quesadilla was perfect. Very simple and flavorful. The fish taco was one of the best I’ve had and the cali club was pretty good as well. I also got a lemon margarita which was pretty decent. Great food overall. Very good value for money. Great service as well.

Good Mexican and nice service. My wife ate here earlier and ordered the shredded chicken burrito again and she can beer particular. I had their special crawfish and shrimp enchilada and it was very good. Margarita was strong and just OK. Four starts for quick clean food.

Wife enjoyed tofu tacos as a vegetarian. Carne asada was ok but wouldn’t order again. Service was spotty at best and wasn’t very crowded so unsure why. Think they may need more servers! Took 20 minutes to get napkins and utensils then they forgot cheese dip. Did comp it without being asked, a nice gesture, but still confused as to why so slow. Overall not bad, but not impressed either. Price reasonable.

They charge you an extra $ 3 if you share your entrée, same amount of food but pay an extra $ 3 ?! I’ve never seen this in my life. Also their water tastes like sewage

Initially the rating for this spot on Unilocal was 3.5 stars so I was a bit hesitant to try it, glad I did though! Great service, friendly atmosphere and really good food! I tried the chicken fajitas and my friend tried the mango shrimp taco special! Give it a try, sit outside, they have fans which make the place cool. What I really liked was their bathroom which had a rather rural Mexican feel to it with some interesting pictures on the walls and bursts of green and pink color.

Sat on the comfy patio. The frozen margaritas were just ok. Not enough flavor, not sweet enough but generously sized in a mason jar. Chips and salsa — fine. I had the tacos — 1 blackened tilapia and 1 spicy shrimp. The tilapia was delicious! I was surprised. Properly cooked and nicely seasoned. My gf said the shrimp just tasted like it was doused in Frank’s Red Hot, which may have been true — taste was hot and sour-ish — which was fine. I thought they would be crunchy so a little disappointed there. Side of rice and beans just meh. Attentive service. I prefer BG’s over Nacho’s based on the strength of the blackened tilapia.

This place may look like a dive, but the food is far from it! I don’t normally advocate eating fried food, but their chips are delicious, as is their salsa. It’s the right consistency… not too watery nor too chunky. The guacamole is great as well. The white queso is a bit runny for my taste, but it was popular with some. Their margaritas are delicious and an organic mix is available upon request. I’ve had the chicken fajitas and the«paleo plate.» Both were awesome. In fact, this was the first restaurant I have ever seen offer a paleo plate, which was impressive by itself. So far, I’ve been here twice and I had two great experiences. No one in either group had anything negative to say. One of the best options on SSI that I’ve tried so far!
