War Veterans Memorial Park

What a beautiful park! It is huge, has plenty to offer and is excellently maintained. There are lots of picnic tables, benches and pavilions, and some are right off the water. Restrooms are in very good condition, and the playgrounds are great for the kids. The boat ramps are great as well, with spacious parking.
It is worth some extra time to check out the special monuments and memorials as well as a retired US Army tank on display that was in service during the Korean War.
This park is great for large groups, families or just a relaxing visit any time of the week.

I stopped in here to relax and just look at the water, prior to an interview, to help get my mind set. The place is right next to where I work (Bay Pines) and I’d never been here before, what a nice place.

This park is absolutely beautiful! The scenery is just amazing. Not dirty at all. The park is humongous. There are many areas where you can have for privacy for a party or bbq right in front of the water. Easy to get to and park your car. Fun fact: You can actually see dolphins swimming near by!

This park is absolutely beautiful and spacious! War Veterans Memorial Park is located right next to the Bay Pines VA Medical Center and has all the fixings, in my opinion, of what a «good» park should have. It offers numerous walking trails and bike paths, playgrounds and play areas for kids, plus several pavilions and BBQ grills throughout the park. There are nicely maintained restrooms plentifully and conveniently available throughout the park as well, not to mention Veteran themed displays. The park shows the different Florida habitats from wooded forests to wetlands to the the open water of the Gulf. The park offers a nice view of the Gulf, allows fishing throughout and even has a canoe drop/​slip.
What I like about the park is that it’s private and quiet. As I drove in and was greeted with mature, shady trees, I felt as though I was transported to another world. If serenity is what you’re looking for, this is the place for you!
P. S. This is a great place to see wildlife! In the two hours I was at the park, I saw a very brave and curious raccoon, several squirrels, a medley of different birds, a family of armadillos, and a cute little bunny rabbit.
