Love the pizza!!! I usually just drop in to get a few slices and what’s great is you can get anything you want on your slices. Hot and fresh every time!

Pizza is 5 star!!! Try the little italy pie so good… Cute spot… Philly cheesesteak is just ok it’s not something I would order again I know they tend to be greasy but when the grease has wet your sandwich to the point the sandwich is falling apart it’s not worth it!!! The garlic knots are a little piece of heaven that my thighs hate me for everytime. It is much better than ordering from a chain and the pizzas are huge give them a try!

Food was okay staff was horrible. Talk about customers as if they can’t hear them! Ur life can’t be that great ur hair’s a crappy blue and u work at a pizza place. The cashiers advice don’t bring kids leave them at home. You might upset the women who work their.

First time… and hooked! We arrived at around 5 on a Friday to a line out the door. We had already ordered over the phone and patiently waited in line for our order of a large pizza, a calzone, and two orders of garlic knots. Once home, pizza was devoured. Hubby and I everything… my teens, not so much. My teens didn’t care for the pizza… to thin, not enough sauce… but they like Pizza Hut and we don’t and since we pay, we eat HERE from now on! Hahaha! My calzone was amazingly delicious, the garlic knots, which everyone inhaled and loved, were to die for, and the pizza was New York style and the best around. We love Original pizza in Treasure Island but Toby’s is right down the street and equally as good. Don’t walk in on a busy night expecting to dine-in as the place was standing room only. Eat local, eat delish, get enough galic knots for everyone.

Toby’s is the only place I have found the the St. Pete area that offers actual NY style pizza. I grew up in the tristate area my whole life so I have very high standards…

3÷8÷2016 I called at 10:573÷8÷16 to order a pizza for pick up! This is 3 minutes from closing time. I was told they were closed, I said, well… you are open for 3 minutes, the person the phone said they were closed, and that I could not order! In the REAL world, you take the order! You are not closed till you are closed! I learned this early in restaurant work. If you call Domino’s at 1 minute after closing time, they will take your! They will deliver it! I am very sad that I must now downgrade Tobey’s due to CUSTOMERSATISFACTIONFAILURE!

Great little pizza place! I live in the area and always order my pizza from them. They can get busy, but they are pretty quick in making your order.

Hers: Great little pizza restaurant. Decent food decent price. My boyfriend enjoys. His: Best non-chain pizza in St Pete that I’ve had so far. Pizzas are pricey but good. Only issue is narrow dining area for eat-in, and booths aren’t comfortable. Four stars, but five stars for food alone and staff.

Once upon a time this place had some pretty good food. The dough tasted as if it was made from scratch, the tomato sauce sourced from a really nice place, cheese was delicious… I don’t know what happened. The pizza tastes more generic than one of those take-and-bake pizzas from Wal-Mart. I would be genuinely shocked to learn the pizza does not arrive on a food service truck, along with every other topping that goes on the dough. Stay away from this place and spend your money at Little Ceasars or Godfathers. It’ll be the same bland taste but at least you won’t have to pay $ 14 for a large cheese. The garlic knots are actually pretty good. They put a lot of oil on them and a premium store bought mixture of dipping spices(not a chance, it’s a homemade recipe).

Ok came back again-maybe I had caught them on an off night last time. The Little Italy special pizza was done perfectly(I asked for well done-perfect) and the cook even brought it over to the table(there are some privileges that come with the name Gino) anyway I was very pleased. Tuna salad was great as well-some folks don’t like the finely chopped lettuce but it works for me. Be back soon!

Pros: Fast service, delicious garlic knots. Cons: The woman who initially took our order A) got my order wrong, leaving off a topping and B) rolled her eyes at me and my boyfriend when we didn’t have an immediate answer about what we wanted to drink. The pizza is very underwhelming and swimming in grease. The available tables were dirty; I ended up cleaning our table myself. If I ever eat here again, it will be takeout garlic knots and maybe a sub. I would not get their pizza and can’t recommend this restaurant.

It’s really difficult to find good pizza in Florida, and no, I am not saying NY pizza. There is no such thing. There is pizza that is made in NY — everything else is not pizza. Ignore, everyone, who says this pizza isn’t that good or isn’t good enough. Yes, they have off days, which is disappointing but so does everyone and every other restaurant. And this may not be the best pizza in the area, but it is a close enough proximity to what I used to be able to get at any strip mall/shopping center on Long Island, that it’s good enough to come back to again and again. And if you are laughing or smirking at the Long Island comment, then you need to shut your pizza pie hole because you do not understand. So anyway, my advice with Toby’s is to(a) order a good 20 minutes before you need it, because they tell you 20 minutes until it’ll be ready and they are not kidding(if you’re like me, you order take out and leave for it right away because even though they say 10 – 15, its always ready in 5 — not here);(b) order it well done. Don’t worry, they don’t burn the cheese. This is for the crust. Maybe you like a chewey loose crust, but it’s not good on real pizza. Big slices that you can fold doesn’t work when the front half droops down and all the cheese and pepperoni slide off. You want it to retain it’s triangular shape when you fold it. My only compliant is they are too far away, and its only a few miles, but the boxes they use or something are not well insulated and the heat is lost quickly. Thankfully, I forgot to order mine well done last night so I could throw it in the oven and happily end up with a well done, but not burnt, and hot pizza. So why am I removing 1 star. Because as close as this comes to real pizza, it still doesn’t quite hit the mark. It’s very good, but it doesn’t hit the bullseye. Once again, every review critical of the pizza here is wrong. I know these are all opinions and everything is subjective — don’t care. I’m right, everyone else who likes this pizza is right. The negative opinions are wrong.

I have heard this joint is a local pizza legend for the 49th Street area, so I thought I’d finally give them a try. Their pizza is excellent indeed. I’ll give their pizza 4.5 stars alone, just short of the 5-star review my local favorite pizza joint deserves. This 3-star rating is strictly caused by the dine-in experience here. It was totally chaotic, noisy, and miserable. Frankly I would have enjoyed myself more just eating a cold pop-tart on a bench outside. In their defense, I did make the mistake of dining at a prime-time weekend hour, but still… They do not bring the pizza to your table. They call out that your pizza is ready and you bring it back to your table. It is sooo loud in there that I could not clearly hear what they were saying over the speaker. Neither could any one else at our table, nor some of the nearby tables! I had to go up to the counter several times to see if my pizza was ready. All said and done, our pizza still took far longer than the wait time I was originally told, like 25 minutes longer. Not nice. Dining in here is like attending a high school pep rally at FULL volume, and straining to hear them shout«your pizza is ready» stuff over and over. I’ll gladly try them again, but strictly for TAKE-OUTONLY. So for me just 3 Stars: 1 Star for the dine-in experience, 4.5 Stars for the food. There is a place closer to me that is as good or better without the hassle. Lesson learned…

Over 35 years. One of the best local pizza in town. Love the mushroom on their pizza tonight. Their garlic knots are also awesome. Front cashier was sweet. Which means good service :)

We were searching for something easy to pick up and bring home at 10pm on a weeknight. Toby’s came to mind when I saw that they were open until 11pm. We have tried their pizza cold from when a friend brought it to an event. It was phenomenal even cold and leftover. On this night we weren’t in a pizza mood. We ordered garlic knots, a Stromboli and a meatball sub. I called in the to go order around 10pm and was told 10 – 15 minutes. Our food was ready when we arrived and was less than $ 20. When we arrived home we eagerly unwrapped our meal. The real standouts were the meatballs(the meatballs themselves… not necessarily the sub) and the garlic knots. The garlic knots were literally swimming in a puddle of oil, garlic and fresh herbs. They were served with a side of delicious red sauce. AMAZING. The best garlic knots I have tried so far. The meatball sub could have use a little more meatballs. The ends of the bread were empty. The flavor however was good. The meatballs were homemade. The sauce and cheese were point on. They just need to extend the meatballs/toppings to the end of the sandwich when assembling it. The Stromboli was my meal. It was good. However, it felt like there wasn’t enough filling and there was too much bread. The ends were all bread and they were a little too burnt for my tastes. It was also really freaking hot. We had a 10 minute drive home and waited another 10 minutes or so before actually eating. Yet, I still burned my tongue(and my leg where some hot oil squirted out). Which is something to keep in mind if you don’t have time for your food to cool. It was served with their red sauce(which again, is spot on). Overall, we liked our food. Toby’s Little Italy could use a few changes, but they are minor. We will definitely be back to try more items.

Had this pizza for the second time last night. I teetered between giving it 3 or 4 stars. My final verdict is 3.5, so I decided to round up for the purposes of this review. My fiancé and I ordered garlic knots with sauce and a small cheese pizza. The small cheese pizza is New York style, therefore, it’s what other pizza places may consider a large pizza. The slices are New York size as well, so this place is definitely authentic in that regard. The garlic knots were fairly good as well as the sauce. The knots were a little too greasy for my taste, but they still had good flavor. The pizza was fairly good as well. A nice blend of cheeses and sauce. The sauce could use a bit more flavor, but it didn’t taste bad by any means. The service was pretty quick for a Saturday night and our to go order was ready a few minutes early… They get props for that! Overall, a solid pizza place. I’d be willing to try it again when I’m in the area.

This locals spot cranks out New York style pizza, calzone, garlic knots, and subs faster than you can imagine. It is quite popular and therefore, the line can often run right out the door. Don’t worry about it, they will get it done! Without a delivery service, you need to call, call again if you get a busy signal, and then come by in 30 minutes to pick up your food. The salads are underwhelming so I would recommend sticking to your favorite pizza, with extra garlic, plus some garlic knots.
