Their drinks earn five stars! But the breakfast food was underwhelming. My plus one and I stopped in for breakfast last weekend. We actually were looking for the place a few doors down, but they happened to be closed. It was cold and windy out that day, and I ordered a mocha and my fiancé got a hot chocolate. The mugs they were served in were HUGE and they were both delicious and not too sweet, with a nice dollop of whipped cream on top. We shared a breakfast burrito and a breakfast sandwich(bacon, egg, cheese on Cuban bread). Both were good and had fresh ingredients but didn’t have a whole lot of flavor. I ended up adding salt to the sandwich. After we were done I saw the sign displaying the special of black bean eggs Benedict on cornbread, and it sounded interesting and I wish I had seen it before ordering. We will most definitely be back, but perhaps just for one of those delicious hot drinks!

We have been big fans of the MLK location for years, but our last two visits here have been disappointing. On our last visit they served my smoked salmon bowl without any salmon. Today, our service took well over an hour. My salmon bowl came out under-seasoned and cold, while so’s scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon came out completely flavorless. This used to be one of my favorite brunch spots, but there are too many other options in St Pete now for today’s service to be considered passable.

One of my favorite breakfast spots in St Pete. I used to frequent their MLK location but this one is closer to my house. If you like biscuits and gravy you have to try the«Scones and Gravy»(honey, bacon, white-cheddar scones, cracked pepper sausage gravy, scallions). Staff is exceptionally nice!

Second time here at this location. The décor and table set up is quaint and well-done. I always order breakfast sandwiches when given the option, and their bacon, egg and cheese on Cuban bread DOESNOTDISAPPOINT. Everything is made fresh and sandwiches come with a side of fruit. Their chocolate chip & marshmallow scones are F*CKINGDELICIOUS, as well. Good coffee, nice people, overall great.

The two stars are only because the service is remarkably slow. Great food, love the place but plan to order at least 45 minutes before you are hungry if the place is empty.

My husband and I have been here for brunch twice(so far) and really liked what we ordered. The black beans benedict is by far one of the best dishes on the menu. But be aware, the portions are huge! The second time we went I ordered the egg and cheese sandwich with spinach. Also very delicious. Overall, this is a fun place with a laid-back vibe.

Anytime I just feel like having some soup while I’m at the office, this is always the place I come to. However today I must write a review about their broccoli and cheddar soup. The bowl was the size of moon and what it contained was something out of this world! A big piece of bread that came with it was fresh and delicious especially when dipped into the soup. As always the people that work there seem like they know you forever, and make you feel warm and welcomed. Now I know that many of these places on Central are little boutique places and they are all extremely friendly, and I guess that’s why I can say that I am very happy to live in St. Petersburg.

This place is comfortable and welcoming. The food is off the charts and the staff is very nice. That makes this a 6 star for me!

Chicken curry wrap! Not too pricey, next door to a cool art gallery, and fast internet.

Excellent! Great lunch spot and so happy they opened a new location here! I had the egg salad sandwich and it was spicy and delicious. The garbanzo bean salad was crunchy and tasty. The building is gorgeous with wood tables and booths, with a large high top in the middle. Love the burg and banyan!

On a road trip to St. Petersburg, we were doing the arts tour and had just finished viewing a live demo at the Morean Glass Studio/Hot Shop. We were on foot and it started drizzling then raining and we stumbled into Banyan Café located right next door to the Morean Arts Center, just in front of the Hot Shop. First off, the interior design appealed to me… I like the look and feel of the space. It is inviting and I felt like it was a place we needed to try. Upon glancing at their menu on the counter… I was like…“yup we are doing lunch here”. The lady at the counter was very sweet and I completely forgot to get her name. She had gingerish hair and glasses. She saw that we were wet from the rain and offered us a towel to dry off our arms etc. Anyhow, we ordered the lentil soup, orzo salad and garlic risotto. We were delighted with the flavors that danced on our taste buds. The lentil soup is a MUSTHAVE, full of flavor! I thoroughly enjoyed the orzo salad & sampled some of my sister’s garlic risotto. Food, ambience and service were right on point. I can’t wait to return to this café again.

Banyan central is awesome! The staff is great. Everyone is always very friendly, warm and inviting. Cassie usually has my coffee ready before i get to the register! The food is fresh and high quality. The scones are amazing and homemade with lots of unique flavor combos. Prices are low for the quality of food you get. Banyan central is a great place to hang out for morning coffee or to have a nice lunch downtown. Two thumbs up

Luckily, there are many places I can stop and grab an espresso beverage and a quick breakfast on my way into work. This is unfortunately not one of them. I was one of only a few customers and it took almost a half an hour to get a breakfast sandwich. The iced lattes come smaller than I am used to and I was charged $ 1 to add sauteed spinach to said breakfast sandwich that was barely detectable, not to mention greasy all over. $ 7.50 for the sandwich alone. They eggs can only be poached or scrambled in any food item that includes eggs. I will not be back.

My friend and I stopped in for something different. I ordered a green tea and the scones with gravy. Oh my goodness. The scones were bacon and cheddar and just amazing. The sausage gravy was one of the best I’ve ever had. The dish was a really fattening, savory, and filling dish with a large portion. But man was it sinfully good. My friend order the black bean benedict which she said was really good! I tried a bite of the cornbread and it was yum. They have a lot of egg dishes and I don’t like eggs so I don’t know if I would run back here. But if I am feeling brave enough for the scones with gravy again, I’ll be back! Pants might not zip but hey… sausage gravy-how can you say no!

Eh, my friend ordered jalepino Bread for her black bean eggs Benedict and with cheesy hash brown on the side. They ran out her jalepino bread which she came in especially for to try for the first time. No cheese with her hash brown which made her more disappointed to the point she told me to put this on Unilocal lol. My cousin ordered me their signature dish eggs Benedict later. The ham was salty, plus! They forgot to even put my ordered in bc i came late :/. So it came out about 15 mins later, but they tried their best to satisfied us by my dish being on the house. So food was okay but the eggs and hollandais sauce was good enough.

Went in for lunch to the café… food is over priced. Took a while to be served as there’s usually only one cook, maybe two at any given time. Cute spot, it’s nice if you really need a coffee or bite to eat. Scones are good they’re from publix, so you can’t go wrong there. Salads are tasty too(overpriced but good). Small menu– but I like that– means they cook/prepare this food often so they’re should be skilled at making it! I ordered risotto once(kind of rice) and it was like $ 9.00…expensive

Banyan has been one of my favorites for years. The original location is, sort of, off the beaten path for tourists but the new location at the Morean Arts Center is right on the edge of the Downtown traffic but still nicely centered in the greater downtown area. They’ve been serving delicious soup and sandwich combos as well as morning sandwiches that really make for a great start for any day! They serve Kahwa Coffee, a local brand, roasted right in St. Petersburg, FL and they use premier ingredients in their foods. The décor matches that the food in spirit, style and taste. Rustic, bold and plenty of character. Everything that I’ve had from this menu has been Delicious!
