My wife and I hosted a pig roast, and purchased the whole pig from Stasny’s. They were very friendly, affordable, and knowledgeable(a big plus when buying a whole animal), and the meat was delicious. We’re going back to them for our thanksgiving turkey, I’m very confident that it’s the right choice

I’ve lived in Como area for 10 years. I absolutely love Stew. The food is amazing. Especially the brats, Swedish meatballs, and the stuffed bacon wrapped chicken. Very friendly. The only bummer is that: They do the free raffle to win a BBQ Grill every year & I still haven’t won.

This little neighborhood store is highlighted by its meat counter. they have a lot of products including many varieties of store made jerky, there prices are VERY good, and the people that work throughout the store try VERYVERY hard to make their customers happy. You wont love the limited parking but you will LOVE the meat counter deals you walk away with.

I’m a big fan of this place. They have a lot of quality meat options including pork from local farms. Awesome bacon. Turkey jerky is the best. Well worth a visit.

This place has always been great, I’m glad you reminded me of it. I will be making the trip to the old ‘hood to shop here. We should support these places. We need more places like this, not chain stores. Jim runs a honest, friendly and quality butcher shop and you are always welcome and happy to be there. Don’t forget that they process your deer too. you get back YOUR deer. Not someone elses«parts», and you get ALL of it back. Did I mention honest?

I am totally spoiled by this place. The quality of meat is fantastic and the level of customer service amazing. I love the single serve frozen soups but my favorite is their Korean BBQ ribs. They are so easy to make and the sauce that Stasny’s sells is delicious. We also love the beef sticks, the curly fries and the stuffed chicken breasts.

Stasny’s is one heckuva meat market. Jim makes his own brats and is constantly experimenting with new flavors – his latest is «Bloody Mary.»(My fave is cranberry apple.) He stocks virtually every type of meat you could ask for – and if he doesn’t have it, he’ll special-order it for you. The market also carries a small line of esential groceries, as well as terrific locally grown asparagus and corn in season. A small gem of a store.

Can’t believe I did not know about this place. The quality and selection of meats is out of this… well… area anyway. The prices are very fair in most cases in others down right cheap. The beef sticks rock you have to try them. the rest of my fellow Unilocalers are right. Run don’t walk the next time you need meat.

The fiancé mentioned this place the other day when we were out and about. We were going to be picking up a whole chicken for dinner and she mentioned that a coworker had told her this place had great Amish chickens. I asked what an Amish chicken was, if it was a chicken that had a beard, a straw hat and didn’t use electricity or other modern conveiences. She didn’t know for sure but was pretty sure that was not what made a chicken an Amish chicken. We drove over to Stasny’s and were pretty impressed with what we saw. They’ve got a small meat counter with all sorts of great meat options, including in house smoked bacon. We got some of the bacon as well as our Amish chicken. As it turns out, Amish chicken is just a brand name for chickens from some farm in OH, but it was still pretty good, even if it didn’t have a beard and a straw hat. They also carry rabbits here, though parents looking for a pet to bring home to their kids should take note, these are rabbits for cooking and eating, not fluffy little pets. I’m looking forward to getting back over there to pick up a rabbit as I’ve been wanting to cook with rabbit for a while but haven’t been able to find any.

This place is an old school butcher that still gets dead animals from a local farm and butchers the beasts right in the back. They smoke their own meats, too. The meat is great, especially the beef. Chicken wings are from full grown, muscle bound chickens. Bacon is cut as thick as you need. Stu Gerr is a local legend and one of the last remaining old school guys. Thanks to Jim for bringing him in and also keeping this local gem going.

Stasny’s belongs on the endangered species list and should be revered and protected as much as the Bald Eagle so we can save it from extinction. I’m an old Wisconsin farm girl. Growing up, we knew our food by name — at least the beef, pork, and chicken products — and the butcher at the meat locker knew my mother and how she like her pork and beef processed. How much ground beef, how many roasts or chops or steaks. I didn’t realize how close to heaven I’d been. Stasny’s is the best of the blue collar butcher shops remaining in St. Paul. Jim and the team can get any cut of meat I need as long as I do a little planning. They’ll trim the beef tenderloin exactly as I request or split pork spare ribs down the middle so I don’t have to suffer through another rack of overpriced, tasteless baby backs. They serve up great products without the pretentiousness(or expense) of Clancy’s or other foodie-focused establishments. This is a butcher as the profession was meant to be. I always hesitate to bring attention to my favorites out of fear of ruining things. But I want Stasny’s to be over run with new faces discovering how great it feels to get service from someone who loves what he does and treats you like he wants your continued business. By the way, did you try the chicken fried bacon at Giggles during the State Fair? If you did, stop by and thank Jim. That’s his handiwork making the tasty treat possible.
