Such a bad experience here. I wanted a certain color that was set out as an option. When it came time to put on the Polish they did not have that color and said for me to choose another one. I chose clear. Second, I wanted oval nails. The nail tech gave me square and and round. I asked for him to fix the few he had done before he gets to the rest, he says, round and oval same thing. I said no its not, you see my nails are square and round not oval. He then corrected my nails making them very short and while putting on polish he misses half of one of my nails. I asked him to correct it and he says it’ll look better once I put my nails under the dryer. Uh no… you missed a spot. He walks away and another nail tech comes over. He starts putting on the Polish and says, you know, you’re the first person I saw to choose another polish that long. I said well, you didn’t have what I wanted. He says somethings got to be wrong with you. I replied, no somethings wrong with you, why would you advertise soemthing you don’t have! I walked out and that’s the story. Needless to say, I will not return and I will not refer anyone to paradise nails. If there were a choice here on Unilocal I will choose zero stars.

They don’t know what stiletto nails are. You have to really insist on «pointy» and then they will chop them off and do square/round. Some nails will look like circles. Also they will charge you extra for nail polish… one color. The price they tell you at the start will be different from the end one. But the people watching is fantastic.

My sister was recommended this place by a friend, so thinking it would be a nice treat for herself she decided to get a gel fill with a gel polish and a jewel on each finger. She couldnt read their board so she asked how much it would all be together. She was quoted in person that the gel fill would cost fifteen(15) dollars, the gel polish would be five(5) and the jewels would cost her(3) dollars. Imagine her surprise when, after they finished, they told her that her total was twenty eight(28) dollars. She called back after she left to double check the prices and make sure she wasn’t swindled, she was again given the exact same quote that she was given in the beginning. I called back myself to double check that she had heard properly and was also quoted a full total of twenty three(23) dollars. We proceeded to go back to the salon and demand the five dollars back. When I entered I immediately asked to speak with a manager or supervisor, it took almost a full minute of just being stated at before anyone spoke up. After relating the story to the gentleman I was directed to it seemed that we would be refunded the five dollars, just as the money was being pulled out and woman working on someone’s pedicure decided to step in and call me over. She identified herself as the manager and completely ignored me when I asked why she didn’t speak up previously. I then started telling her what happened and was told that I was wrong, she then started violently pointing towards the pricing board where the ‘real’ prices were. They reflected that her actual total was twenty eight(28) dollars. When asked why they quoted a different price three different times I was again ignored and the nail tech just kept shouting that I should read the board. Needless to say my sister will never return to that salon, we both also warn anyone that we see going in not to trust the prices that they quote. They are con artists; they will purposely quote you a cheaper price, as they did three times with me and my sister, just so that you come into their salon. On top of that hassle, her nails were not done properly. The tech sanded through two of her fingers, to the point of bleeding, and then just told her to wash it off. She washed her hands off and returned, he then proceeded to continue the same process except this time instead of having her wash all the nail particles off he just continued on into the gel fill. The finished product was smudged gel and nails full of air bubbles. The whole experience with them was probably the worst salon experience me or my sister have ever received.

My girlfriend and I got pedicures here tonight. It was super busy, I was glad that we made appointments in advance. There were several people waiting, but lots of people working, too. The men who did our pedis were really great, nice and friendly. I will be returning regularly! Hopefully at a time when it’s less crazy, but for popular places, what do you expect?

After a just OK experience at Pro Nails I decided to give another place in the hood a try. I saw Paradise Nails while on a trip to Cub awhile ago and recently booked pedi appointments for me and my boyfriend. I’m glad we had appointments because when we walked in there were only two employees, and when we left there were several people waiting and two women actually left(but a couple more employees arrived while we were there). The employees were pretty friendly and the place seems clean and decent. Some of the clients appeared to be regulars and chatted with the staff. A TV was playing the Vikings game so my boyfriend was content. I noticed that(unlike at Pro Nails) the tools the techs used came out of a sealed pouch so that made me feel better about the sanitation practices at Paradise Nails. However, neither of us left very satisfied. My boyfriend’s primary concern is calluses so he missed the«cheese grater» they use at Pro Nails. The tech that did my pedi started rushing when a group of women walked in and the end result is pretty sloppy. She also filed my nails(with a coarse file) before trimming them(which was uncomfortable) and barely trimmed them. My boyfriend also thought she was a little curt with me when she was done and wanted me to move out of the chair. Not hell but certainly not paradise! My boyfriend said he will continue to go to Pro Nails( ), while my quest for a new nail salon continues…
