The only Latin American grocery in the area for many miles — at least 5 miles east of Marissa’s on Nicollet and 2 – 3 miles west of La Palma. A great carnicería where everything is made in house. I always get chorizo and some fresh chicharron — two things that are almost impossible to find outside of the one or two Latin groceries that are located far and few between in the cities. Coming from California this place fills a real need for us — although small, it has just everything that our favorite tiendas had on 24th in the Mission. Staff is friendly and helpful and produce is pretty fresh. Oh yeah — they have big bags of dried chiles also made in house at very good prices (ancho, guajillo, etc.).
