I walked right in and was greeted right away. The stylist did not introduce herself but was very friendly and cut my hair exactly how I asked.

I’m an 80’s girl so Yep, I have worn my hair somewhat the same for several years… I don’t get much done except a trim, a few layers, and a face frame… I don’t ask for much… Because I don’t need that extravagant of a style, I usually go to beauty schools or a budget hair salon like Great Clips or Fantastic Sams. I like it. Its cheap and they get the job done. Well…I have now lost faith in the budget salons and that was the worst part of my experience this week. I have trust issues so I am not sure they will regain my trust again so I will be forced to go to a higher end salon and pay $ 35 – 60 dollars for my quarterly hair cut. The second worst part was my hair!!! As you can see in my photo, and yes, I have no makeup on… my bangs are totally crooked… I asked for whispy bangs but not crooked. I noticed it while I was in there but the stylist didn’t seem too concerned and by that time, I just wanted to get the hell out! Besides my crooked bangs, she thinned out my hair unevenly so one side is much more full than the other side… She used a razor the entire cut except perhaps on the back. I like a little razor to give it that edgy look but the way she was whipping that razor around my head, I feel lucky to even have any hair left at all!!! I hate hair anywhere else on my body but I DO like hair on my head! I don’t remember a scissors but I might have just been traumatized. The entire cut took about four minutes. The gentleman who sat down about five minutes before I did, was not even completed yet and he’s a man! Man hair cuts take less time usually. I don’t remember the stylists name but she has pretty silver hair and she was nice for the few minutes we spoke but she really gave me the worst cut ever and I really didn’t notice how bad until I got home. I would not go back to this place and especially do not let her cut your hair!

Here’s what you’ll get at Great Clips. Your sons, within the ages of 7 – 18, will get an inexpensive, ok cut that will grow out kind of fuzzy. While they are getting the cut, you will delight(frown) in music that your husband loves and you hate. Such as, Steely Dan, America… oh but wait! saved by Prince, but then boo Boston. Just when you think you can’t take it, the haircut is over. Perk: They keep a record of what type of cut your kid had before and the stylists are very friendly. My tips for you: Tell the stylist you don’t want your kids’ side burns completed shaved off. The money you save on your kids… you will spend on your own hair at a reputable salon. Easy.

Just got the absolute worst haircut by Kathy, never get one by her. She is absolutely horrible in all ways. I was kind but I’ll never be seeing her again.

It’s a Great Clips. You probably aren’t here to get an expensive haircut. For $ 14 you get trimmed and look a lot neater than you did when you came in, but don’t expect to turn heads on the runway with a «great haircut.» My stylist was proficient although if I’m stuck sitting in a chair for 15 minutes I expect at least some small talk. Nothing there. That said, I’ve been to a few chain salons that butchered my hair. Great Clips didn’t butcher it, so they deserve respect. These folks are serious stylists and worth another visit when I just need to look good before an interview or a date, but if I’m ever looking to make some waves with a fantastic haircut, I’ll look elsewhere.

Not too bad for a quick cheap haircut. I came in, the lady said, «How do you want your hair cut,» I looked at a book and said, «That one looks like how I like my hair cut.» Then she just cut my hair like the guy in the picture. It was a very basic standard haircut. Definitely worth the $ 14 it was supposed to cost(though you can find coupons that bring that down to only 8.99). I would happily have paid the $ 14. At any rate, it’s nothing fancy, but it was good, and she had me done in about 15 – 20 minutes, so that was good too.

More of a 3.5. Not a big fan of the seafood smell wafting in from next door thanks to Coastal Seafood being right next door. Needed my hair evened out after butchering it length wise on my own. For a Monday, it was pretty busy. We arrived just in time or we would have had to wait about 40 minutes. We only had to wait about 10 minutes. J and I both needed a trim. The girl cutting J’s hair did a really great job blending his length with the clippers. It looks great. My trim was alright for a trim. I don’t think that I would come here on a regular basis to get my hair done, but for a trim no problem. I ended up having a coupon for 8.99 so all the better. They give $ 2.00 off for students which is cool.

I’ve had my haircut by the same person for 8 years. Unfortunately, she is on maternity leave. I was looking a bit shaggy, so I decided to go cheap and close. $ 14 and 6 blocks away fit the bill. I walked right in, sat right down, and was out in 15 minutes. I’ll give them«Solid Clips», «Great» might be a tad lofty.

Full disclosure: I don’t care for spending a bunch of money to get a fancy haircut. In terms of a discount salon the Great Clips on Snelling is alright with me. If you get the right person you will get a decent and consistent style. The staff are friendly and the wait time is reasonable, however, the conversation is less than stimulating. They give you a $ 2 off coupon with each receipt, but I always forgot to bring my last receipt back for my next cut.
