I go there every now and then for a pedicure but today’s visit will be the last. Their practices aren’t as clean as I wish they’d be. If you go home needing to wash your feet after a pedicure, I’d say that is a bad sign. The woman who did my toes kept scraping underneath my nail with her own extra long, discolored thumbnail. No gloves. Then she used a piece of cotton to clean off some polish that got on my skin but kept using it for her own skin as well. Back and forth, we shared the same acetone soaked cloth. Things like this seem little, but when you really think about what is happening, it is unacceptable and doesn’t display cleanliness and a sanitary environment which are key at a place offering this type of service.

I went back to Expert Nails for to get a pedicure and manicure for a wedding I was going to be in. The pedicure portion was fine, but after I chose the color of my gel nail polish for the manicure I realized she was not doing what I had requested. She acknowledged the mistake and took off the polish(which takes 15 min.). I then clearly pointed out which color I wanted, a muted brown, and she again started putting eggshell purple on my nails. After I inquired, she said she would put another color over that and it would be fine. It was not. It turned out to be a ‘princess’ purple. I told her I didn’t have time to redo it then, but I would go home to see if it matched the dress(that was a reach) and if it didn’t could I come back the next day. She said yes. It did not match so when I stopped in the next day they all gave me a look like I was crazy, took off the nail polish and then told me I would have to pay. I said forget it. She had plenty of excuses as to why the colors I picked weren’t turning out, but that didn’t make up for the 2 ½ hrs and $ 60.00 I spent just to walk out with nail polish on my toes. I had high hopes for this place since its close to our house, but I will keep searching. Oh, and no air conditioning in the month of July!

I LOVE Expert Nails. Wendy and her staff are all very welcoming. My Mom and I have even getting our nails done here for almost 10 years. Whenever I am home I make sure to stop in. Some of the new girls are still learning the art of nails so if you want the best full set you’ve ever had ask for Wendy. If you want Wendy to do your nails you need to call and make an appointment. They have a wide selection of gel color. They recently painted and added additional lighting which makes the salon even better! Give them a try!

PLEASE be warned. A few years ago, I went here and the woman cut my toenail so short I had to have surgery and have my right side big toenail removed. Luckily, it grew back but, the pain I felt for many weeks of what the woman at LA Nails did to me remains in my mind and I will never go to a nail salon again. Please Unilocalers do your own research about the safety of nail salons in general and consider doing your own mani/pedis. When you get a service like this done it can be very unsafe as I was told by my own doctor, which I found out AFTER I was hurt so badly. Please learn from me.

I’ve gone to Expert Nails for pedicures off and on for about 5 years now. The service is inconsistent. I’ve had great pedicures, but I’ve also had a couple of pedicures where I literally left bleeding. The pros: you can walk in almost anytime, the prices are reasonable, and they are careful to sanitize their equipment. The cons: depending on who you get you have a decent chance of having your cuticles cut too short, or your heels trimmed too much, they upsell you hard, and nag you if you say no, and when they do have a «line» for a pedicure, they will lie about how long a wait it will be to keep you from going elsewhere.
