I have had the two best haircuts of my life at CaJah — and I’ve paid quite a bit more for places in DC and Boston. Jessica and Jim are both friendly, professional, and complete magicians when it comes to haircuts. Go here. And prepare to be pampered with amazing head massages and hot tea, and no high pressure sales. I have been living outside of MN for most of the last decade but I’ve started waiting to get haircuts until I come into town to see family.

I was referred to Jessica Johnson through a mutual friend. I have long naturally curly hair, so finding the right cut can be challenging. I’m also picky about color, but she nailed both on the very first visit. Not only was the cut perfect, but the color was amazing as well. I always leave her chair feeling gorgeous. Jessica is awesome!

I have been struggling with my hair cut and color for quite some time now. I was referred to Cajah by a friend who has been going to Jessica J. for awhile. I now understand why she has been going to her for awhile; she is amazing. So kind and she understood my problems and created a plan of attack to get my hair where I would love it again. Well, I can say after 6 months and 3 visits later… I am in love again! Thank you Jessica!
Cajah is great salon as well. Small and not stuffy like your typical saloons. Everyone there is very nice and the décor of the place makes you feel at ease.

Went to Jessica my first time for a color correction. She was straightforward and professional when she had to be in the consultation and super kind and fun during the appointment. Basically everything you’d want in a hair artist. She saved my hair. Went in for a haircut with her but she was sick so I went to someone else. Still turned out great! All of them know what they’re doing.

I used to dread getting my haircut, never was any consistency. Finally I found Jessica and have been going to her for the past 3 years. I now enjoy getting it done and it always looks great!

Five stars are not enough to give Jessica Johnson. She has been my stylist for over ten years, and she always makes me feel beautiful!

I recently photographed a wedding that Megan did the hair and makeup of– the bride looked absolutely stunning! Beautiful work! The bride looked amazing, even at the end of the night her hair and makeup were still looking great!

Jim just chopped 6+ inches of hair off my head today!
The salon is nice, the music IS good, and I felt like Jim really listened to me, and he was a great conversationalist– which was good, because he cut quite a bit of hair off my head today!

First of all, I’m a little unclear about why so many reviews are «not recommended.» I sincerely hope my review doesn’t get lumped into that category because this is my new place.
I was recommended Cajah Salon by a friend (who is admittedly friends with Jim) because I mentioned in passing that my longtime stylist was priced outside my budget. Sorry, this middle school teacher can’t afford a $ 90 haircut plus tip!
Since its opening, I have had my hair cut and styled by Jim a couple times and Carrie has done my eyebrows. For being such professionals, they are very reasonably priced, especially for the waxing. The last time I had my brows done at Juut, it was $ 30 plus tax and tip whereas Carrie did it for $ 17. Half the price, people, and just as good — if not better — of a job.
Jim had wonderful recommendations on how to work with the bangs I am growing out and the blowout that I left with is one I wish I could replicate daily. Plus, can I mention, after a long day of dealing with 7^th graders, the head massage and scented drying towel that accompanied the shampoo was basically sheer bliss.
Even though I live in the north metro, Cajah is going to continue to be my go-​to salon!

I recently went to Cajah Salon to get a haircut with Carrie. I live in Seattle, but was in St. Paul visiting family for about a month and really needed a cut. My sister has been going to Carrie for over 20 years, even following her as she changed salons, and now I understand why. Every step of the process was fabulous — I could have sat in the hair-​wash chair for an hour — and my hair looked amazing when she was done. And Carrie was friendly and funny and chatty, but not too much so. ;) Now, if I could just get Carrie and Cajah Salon to move out to Seattle…

My hair looks amazing! (Thanks Sue!) I needed a cut and color badly! I had a lot of regrowth and it’s perfect now! Good, genuine guest service is hard to come by these days, and this salon is full of fantastic genuine guest service! I felt welcomed and at home. It was a fun atmosphere! I felt like I could be myself and I felt confidant that my hair would be well taken care of by Sue! Beautiful salon! Amazing location! There’s even a cute dress shop next door! Wonderful stylists! Extremely helpful receptionist! You can’t go wrong!!! As a hair stylist, I can honestly say this salon is the real deal!

The location of Cajah is perfect — you can walk to anything from there! Get your hair done, run an errand, meet friends for happy hour, etc. The stylists at Cajah are true professionals with a tangible passion for what they do. I would recommend this gem to anyone looking for a full experience with their hair appointment. And when you’re done, enjoy the neighborhood with your loved ones while looking fantastic!
