Ordered the fried flour tortilla’s, I loved the texture and taste of the tortilla. But the taco meat is seriously under seasoned, a shame because if they would amp the spice up a bit this would be a killer taco. Overall a pretty good place to stop for a quick lunch. It would be nice if they weren’t afraid of spice, could be so much more if they weren’t.

This is a good fast food/less authentic version of the Boca Chica on Cesar Chavez, which I love. If you need a good greasy Mexican fix, this is a really good place.

Holy crap this is good fast food! Seriously, don’t ever litter your body with Taco Bell or the likes ever again! My recommendation, pick food up from here and head down to Wabasha Brewery for a jalapeño beer with your food… yum!

When you do something really well, focus on just that. Taco House has done a great job of doing just that. They make Tacos, and they make them extremely well. Are they authentic? Absolutely not. Are they delicious? Yes they are! The biggest downside is the wait. However, waiting for good food to be prepared is part of the price you pay for deliciousness.

I frequent the taco house pretty regularly. It’s a decently good place to grab a quick bite. Why only 2 stars? I just finished eating my to go order I’m still hungry, that’s probably why. Tonight they miscounted, low of course. This is the second time in my last 5 trips they shorted me. Discouraging because the guy working looked in the bag to count. Maybe he’s pretending to count, or maybe he can’t count. Either way it’s a little bit of a disappointing trend. As for the food. Its tasty but weak in terms of spice. I usually order to go for the purpose of adding peppers or hot sauce when I get home.

A friend said they have great fried tacos so we tried it. Shouldn’t have as they are connected to the slop house across the street. This place commits crimes against tacos. So so bland! Cmon, Mexican food should be full of flavors! Stop pandering to us Americans! We want authentico.

Stopped for a quick lunch. I had the fried flour tacos with beef and my husband had the soft shell chicken both were delicioso. They serve a side of either rice or beans so we had one of each and we split them. For the two of us. the bill was 12.00 dollars. The food was good quick service and always a great buy.

I have had there fried tacos and there fajita tacos they are so good. I used to come here a lot when I used to work in the area. You can’t go wrong with the Boca Chica Taco house. If i were just in the area not even hungry I would still stop and get something just because its that good. They also have fresh salsa bar very good!

I’ve been known to wake up in a cold sweat and shouting for Boca Chica Fried Flour Tacos. Overboard? Maybe a bit, but man these are sensational. The crispy yet almost chewy texture you get from the tortilla is amazing. Very well stacked with meat, cheese, tomato until it’s coming out the top. Rice and beans are very good and very authentic. The salsa bar is fully stocked with their homemade salsa and some jalapeños. Just one salsa!!! Yeah, that’s all you’ll ever need. The salsa is as addicting as the tacos. Good bite, very fresh tasting, a good saltiness. Burritos are pretty solid too if you know what you’re doing when ordering. Red Chile Pork burrito, enchilada style. The enchilada style is the key. Smothered with piping hot enchilada sauce and covered in cheese. Fabulous. The Mole is very good too. Service? It’s order at the counter, darn near fast food style. I’ve never really cared how some goon working a register treats me, just get the order right and answer my questions. Which is something they’ve always done well. It’s well worth the trip to the taco house. Get a bunch of those fried flour tacos, sit back, enjoy, and just try to wipe the smile off your face. Won’t happen.

Authentic tacos! Best tacos in St. Paul. Friendly service. No wasted money on ambiance but the food is amazing. Good and fast. Can’t be beat.

Boca Chica Taco House is one of my favorite fast — casual places to grab a quick bite to eat & here’s why; –The homemade chips & churros are to die for! –Taste & price wise, the food is above Taco Bell or Taco Johns but not at Chipotle quality. — The deep fried soft tortilla shells are too good to be true and take a standard taco to the next level. — Parking: free parking & easy to get in & out of the lot. –Service: not too slow, not too fast. Customer service is average. My only gripe Boca Chica Taco House is that they give you a small amount of guacamole & queso when you order the chips with a particular dip/sauce.

One of my favorite lunch spots: My sister & I always order the same thing: Combo meal with enchilada & we substitute the soft taco for the deep friend taco for only .50 cents more. It also comes with your choice of rice or beans with a large fountain drink for only $ 5.99 and did I mentioned their salsa is delicious? It’s fresh pico de gallo and none of that liquidy Taco Bell crap. SUPERB I must say. I’m drooling as I’m typing this. DEEPFRIEDTACO

Living in St. Paul, I have access to some of the best tacos in the state because right across the river is the District Del Sol, a Latin neighborhood full of restaurants. There are lots of places where I can get an authentic Mexican food. Along with the authentic places, there are plenty on spots that serve what most Minnesotans are accustomed to, an Americanized taco. You know exactly what I’m talking about. A tortilla, ground beef with a hint of spice, lettuce, and cheddar cheese. If you’re lucky there may be a packet of taco sauce to squeeze on it. Bland. The perfect«ethic food» for our Minnesota taste buds. This is the kind of fair that Boca Chica Taco House serves up. Located on Wabasha, near the caves, the taco house has been around since 1975. Along with tacos, they serve all types of Mexican fare like enchiladas, burritos, and tamales. Sara and I have been to the Taco House a couple times now, and on both occasions we were happy with our food. We are white kids from the Midwest after all, so we grew up eating this version of Mexican cuisine. My wife really likes the beef and cheese burrito, and I’m a fan of the fried chicken tacos. It’s basic, good Mexican-American food, at a good price. The place is always busy, so you know we’re not the only ones that like it. Packed full of the whitest people in the neighborhood. The Boca Chica Taco House is a place you go to get Mexican-American food you grew up eating. However if you’re looking for authentic, walk down the street, and find a place serving people with a more«southern» heritage.

Decent tacos, decent prices… The service isn’t spectacular — more like any fast food joint. But what can you expect for the price? The nachos come in a pretty generous size and the flour tacos are great. The amount of meat they put in the tacos is rather small compared to the amount of lettuce. Occasionally the salsa bar is empty. It’s a decent place though. You can get full for cheap.

We were in the hood and had heard good things about the Taco House, so we gave it a whirl. Long line when we first got there which is always a good sign but it moved very quickly. Counter order person was so-so, not too friendly but not rude either. That will not matter once you taste the salsa in the next room and eat one of their fried tacos. I ordered a fried taco and a taco burrito. My daughter ordered the same plus a side of beans. I love their beans and will most definitely order them next time. The fried tacos were awesome and the taco burrito was OK, nothing over the top. I will not order that next time but nothing wrong with it, I just liked my tacos better. They have a salsa/jalapeño bar you can help yourself to which is super nice. Love that! Having free jalapenos and homemade salsa is enough to make me fall in love with a place! I can not wait until we are over in that hood again so I can order more fried tacos.

On a recent visit for lunch, I ordered their chicken tacos, soft shell, beans and beverage. My companions ordered beef tacos, soft shell, one with rice and one with beans, and beverages. The counter service was so-so, nothing to compliment there. The food was only so-so, too. I’ve had much better(specifically, at Casa Lupita out in White Bear Lake). I don’t think this is a place I’d seek out in the future.

This is a nice alternative for the fast, convenient on the go mexican meal. Love their tacos and the shells. Meat is always a generous amount and they taste like real tacos versus the tacos with meat that look like sloppy joe meat crammed into shells packaged in New Jersey. It’s fairly close, convenient and appealing.
