Excellent drive-​thru only place. Food is good and service is quick. We had the double cheeseburger deluxe and jumbo hotdog with sides of onion rings and fries. The milkshakes were tasty but thick giving my tongue a real workout when sucking it through the narrow straws they gave us. I would definitely return for more, and way before hitting one of the generic chain fast food traps.

Best burger I have eaten! I got the double cheeseburger with only mayo and olives. Omg the olives were so good! The fries were ok but the onion rings were crispy and delicious. We also got a chocolate milkshake which was very chocolaty and good :)
Side note the Unilocal address isn’t right. It takes you to a funeral home. Just put neon grill into your GPS it will save you the headache.

Awesome food. Very hot! Drive through only. Hotdog was wonderful. Burger was amazing. Fries are the best. Milkshake was so flavorful. A little pricey but well worth it. Will come back and add the business review because it was so good and we want more Unilocalers to know about our enjoyment!

They only accept cash, so be prepared. I recommend finding their menu online before visiting as the drive through sign doesn’t tell you what’s on their burgers.
The deluxe cheesburger was excellent. The green olives, albeit an odd choice for a burger, were a nice salty addition. Would have liked some bacon on there, but not necessary.
The jumbo Chicago dog ($ 0.75 to upgrade to jumbo) was by far my favorite item. Probably the best Chicago dog I’ve had outside of Chicago.
The service could have been better. The young woman who took our order wasn’t all that welcoming and appeared to be annoyed that we pulled in. I chalk that up to her being a modern teen in Michigan so I didn’t take it personally, however I do believe employees at eating establishments should thank their patrons for choosing their location.

We’re fairly new to the area, and took a ride to St. Joseph today (gotta take advantage of a rare warm day, ya know). The Neon Grill caught our eye — luckily for us. We each got regular hamburgers and fries, and they were just fantastic. My husband, not one to rave, kept saying variations of, «This is the best hamburger I’ve had in a LONG time.» Even once we got home, he was still mentioning it.
The burgers were obviously freshly made. Fries were fantastic and lightly seasoned — not with that orange, fake overly-​seasoned stuff, thankfully. We will DEFINITELY be back, and now we know to try the shakes (diet be damned)!

Neon grill is amazing. Their food is so good and tasty. I always get their hamburger but when I get home I have to put more ketchup on the hamburger they put so little on it but other than that neon grill is the best. I love their seasoned fries also, their fries don’t even need ketchup on them their so good. My brother loves neon grill too but he gets the deluxe hamburger… Their hot dogs are really good too. Actually all their food is really yummy and really tasty. If you’ve never been to neon grill your missing out on some really good food.

My husband and I did not have any expectations upon pulling up to the neon grill drive thru. We ordered two deluxe burgers, a choc shake, and one large fry. The choc shake came out first and I was surprised at how awesome it was! I saw them pull out a bin of burger patties that were hand patted between wax paper. When our burgers came, we were amazed at how big and delicious they were! I think they had olives on them and that made it so delicious! You get a lot of food for your money here! So glad we discovered this retro burger drive-​thru!

This is a good place for a drive-​thru hot dog and shake or just a shake. The handmade shakes are pretty damn good and I am not a shake girl. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable.

This is a good place for a drive-​thru burger and fries. Better than any other burger I can get in the area without getting out of my car. Good serving sizes, people are always polite to me.
Other reviews look like they’re not even reviewing the same place. I wouldn’t drive 30 minutes for this, but around town it’s just fine.

This is one of my favorite places when I’m in a hurry at lunch and want a true 50’s style chocolate mike shake and burger. see I’m a fan of olives and their deluxe has chopped green olives. it added some thing special to a great tasting burger. you can’t miss the place it has a 56 Chevy on top of the building and they only do drive through, most of the time theirs a line of car’s around the building and normally two people running the place.
