Sun and Stars Montessori School

Everything about Sun and Stars is pure joy! In just a few months, my son has grown so much as an individual, a student, a friend — I cannot sing high enough praises about Sun and Stars.
My son immediately bonded with his amazing teachers — Ms. Micki, Ms. Nelli and Ms. Nancy — they are a true blessing! He loves his «new friends» and has become far more independent and self-​confident amongst his peers. More than ever, he has also developed an unquenchable thirst for learning. He has gained a huge sense of self-​worth; he loves to try new things and is so gratified when he masters the task at hand. «I try again» and «I did it» have become two of his favorite phrases — both of which have me bursting with delight. In short, he is thriving.
I cannot recommend Sun & Stars enough. We are so lucky to have them.

We now have our 3^rd child in Sun and Stars and could not be happier! The staff, education and setting have been excellent. We couldn’t be happier with the program — thank you Sun and Stars!

I can’t say enough about this wonderful school. My first daughter went there for 3 years and loved every minute. She left 3 years ago and still misses her teachers. I feel it was the best place for her at such a young age. The staff is so nurturing. I now have my second daughter her and she is so excited to go to school everyday. FIVE STARS for Sun & Stars Montessori School!
I recently met Ms. Tammy Harbison, Executive Director at the Sun and Stars Montessori School. She had a vendor booth at the St. Helena farmer’s market and had set up a little display for children to play musical instruments. We spoke about the school’s approach to exposing children to learning and exploring.
Sun & Stars is a non-​profit, non-​denominational, privately owned and operated school. The curriculum is based on the teaching’s of Maria Montessori and is guided by student interest. Learning is self-​directed through choice, independence, and hands-​on experiences.
While children found and played with the 10+ musical instruments in her booth, she encouraged them to explore and experiment with different mediums and sounds. NICE! She even gave pointers on how to facilitate exploration of music at home — sticks on ice cube containers, drums out of containers, etc.
Tammy gave many of the children attending the farmer’s market a FREE ribbon stick (a 1.5′ stick with three multi-​colored ribbons) and encouraged them to just «Have Fun!». Truly, she is a professional who is more interested in properly facilitating childrens’ learning processes, than to make a buck (which also would be nice).
What a great business! I’m impressed with the executives of this school!
