Pranzo Italian Deli & Bistro

This place was great! The pizza was delicious! Thick bread for the crust but very soft. My dad got the turkey cranberry sandwich and loved it! He said «it was magnificent». I thought the menu is easy to read despite what others may say. Overall it was good!

I have to say, about my experience at this restaurant, that it was a COMPLETELY CONFUSING & ODD experience the whole time I was there… LOL! First off, menu says «pick 2» (between sandwiches/​salads/​soup), yet there was a sandwich&salad (or it could’ve been w/​soup) combo (but just one combo) listed. Cashier was not happy/​friendly, seemed like she didn’t want to be there. I asked her if I could get salad and soup in a combo and she said no; I told her what I wanted was the Greek salad, but wanted to get it in a combo w/​soup… Even if it was smaller, not the full size, that would’ve been just fine with me.) She said the only thing to do was to get a small side green salad separately, and then soup separately. I asked if that’s all they had as a side salad – the plain green salad, couldn’t I just get the Greek kind, and she said no. (So evidently she or the menu was wrong.) So, unsatisfied about that, that’s just what I ordered since that’s all I *could* order (apparently; short of getting a full Greek salad and a soup and paying more for all that!)
Also, I asked what oil they used in the dressing and there was a real attitude about finding that out for me… (I just try to avoid GMO’s, that’s all!)
I also ordered a chicken panini, and wanted to sub out the «chipotle mayo» (as listed on the menu) for another type, so I asked her what other sauces/​condiments they could do instead of that, and she looked at me as if I was from a different planet. I asked again (very simply), and she, at last, very halfheartedly looked across the room at her coworker and asked a DIFFERENT question from the one I had just asked her twice. (?!). Her coworker answered w/​wrong info and then proceeded to walk over to where we were, so I asked her the same question. She said they could only do mustard. (I even mentioned «i see on your menu you have spicy mustard; you can’t do spicy mustard?» and she said no (no explanation given)). Then she said they could do «the chipotle sauce and mayo». (to which I wondered, if it’s chipotle sauce *and* mayo, why does the menu say «chipotle mayo»?). (Maybe they forgot the comma, i dont know, but in either case i didn’t feel like being confused anymore by their answers, or receiving innacurate information, so I said «I’ll just have the plain mustard then.»
So, when the cashier read the order back, she said «a combo salad and soup», to which I was confused because she had JUST told me they couldn’t do a salad & soup combo. So I asked her to clarify that and she said «the salad is on the fridge right there» and pointed next to me. (was thinking, «well, it’ll be interesting to see what i get.»). She handed me my receipt she mumbled my order number and walked away, so I didn’t know what order number I was (didn’t see it on the receipt either). (I did see on the receipt that it said «combo salad».)
So, opened the fridge door to get one of the little green salads there (which wasn’t what I even wanted, but of course was just going by what she told me they could do, again even though their menu says «pick 2».). So I look at the salads in the fridge – green, pasta, and fruit. The pasta & green salads were on the skimpy side, especially the green salads – literally just a few pieces of torn romaine in each container, and then they were all different – one w/​2 paper-​thin old-​looking tomato slices on top, another w/​a few small carrot shreds, another w/​only one carrot shred & one paper-​thin red onion slice, another w/​two cherry tomatoes, another w/​a paper-​thin red onion slice only, etc… odd. (if you’re going to do just a tiny bit of lettuce anyway, at least put all the other skimpy little things & make them all the same!). So I end up just getting the fruit cup which is the only thing that looked decent, and then wondered if there is an add. charge for fruit – I then see a sign saying «2.99 for fruit». (I’d only paid 2.20 to have the green salad) so with the cc minimum, I dash back to the car, don’t find any change, come back in, they say a number (??) and there’s only 2 people in the restaurant, & both employees are looking in the bag with VERY uncertain expressions, LOL. So then I find out its mine, ask about the overage for the fruit & they tell me it’s the same price! (So then why is there a special big sign only about the fruit on the front of the fridge???) Then, apparently, it takes two employees, each with one hand on each corner of the top of the bag, to THRUST the bag with a somewhat violent gusto, my direction… (??)
So… out at the car, the soup is cold, the roll was stale with a VERY funky taste, panini was skimpy – mostly bread no fillings.
All in all, wow!!! It was such a confusing and weird experience it’s really hard to know what to say or think about it, LOL!!! I really hope this will be a constructive review for the restaurant owner if he/​she reads this, though. :)

Claims to be an Italian Deli and Bistro, but the food is atrocious. Fresh-​baked bread was bland. Pastrami sandwich was served on a stale bun with one thin slice of pastrami, heavy on cheese, and with an au jus — presumably to help soften the stale bread. My father of 75 said it was the worst pastrami sandwich he ever had. Sicilian pizza was caked with ultra-​fatty cheese, had an uneven and folded crust, and appeared to have been reheated in a microwave. Pasta Fagioli tasted like it had just come out of several cans, very acidic. The help consisted of friendly teenagers and 20-​something women who provided the only gem in this place. After the meal we dared not try the desserts.
