I have yet to have a bad experience all of the food so far that I have gotten from Sy Thai has been very flavorful, fresh and delicious. I usually order carry out and have waited about 10 mins the most 15 when they are busy which is pretty fast compared to other places I have been to but if you order for pick up there has been no wait time.

I love the food here. I will say that there seems to be some discrepancies in the consistency of the food quality from time to time. Sometimes it’s greasier than others. Sometimes it’s spicier than others. Ultimately, it can always be counted on to be delicious!

I love their rice based dishes. If you like spicy your in for treat. The portions are huge and the prices are good.

I went there last night, and today is my birthdays and I’ve spend the whole day vomiting and my doctor says it’s food poisoning. I’m not happy with this, and I feel absolutely horrid.

I eat here all the time because they have great food and service! They have fair prices and give fairly large portion sizes. My favorite dishes here are the drunken noodle and any of their coconut curry dishes.

Have ordered from Sy Thai for the last year+. Usually had good to great service… Until tonight. The woman that picked up the phone to take my order, spoke so fast, I barely understood. I have a peanut allergy, so it’s important to get my order correct. I asked her if I could order without interruption and sure enough she interrupted again. She blew through my order and hung up before I blinked. I went to pick up my order and to my surprise the prices went… Up!!! I won’t return. My food was borderline nasty. Old noodles… No peanuts but no extra sprouts as ordered AND paid for! I called, maybe new owners, new staff… Something. Nope. Just the same woman, not trying to fix the problem and barely speaking. Goodbye Sy Thai!

Great food, huge portion sizes. I’ll either sit in or take out. If you’re getting take out you might need to wait a bit, this place is always in demand! Best thai food in the area :)

First time patron. Great service for dine-in. Wonderful menu selection and great wait staff. Food was served prompt and hot. Very authentic Thai food with appropriate levels of spice. Dinner portions where VERY generous. Definitely one of the best places in St Clair Shores for good quick Thai food!

The sweet and sour medium spice dinner was amazing. They give a good portion + rice! Perfect amount of spice. Will definitely be ordering again!

This was my first time eating here. Let’s start with the facility, Clean and welcoming. Typical décor for a thai restaurant in the middle of a shopping center. Upon entering I was greeted with a hello and able to sit as I please since it was lunch. My server, who will remain nameless wasn’t the greatest which kind of took away from my experience. She greeted me at the initial point of contact upon presenting the shrimp chips and water. That was essentially the only interaction I had with her the entire time I was sitting. Instead of ordering the typical Pad Thai or Pad Se Yew I decided to go with something different on the menu. It was still a noodle dish, it was the Sy’s Pad Thai. When asked how spicy, my server suggested mild+ for a bit of spice with out the burn. When my food arrived, it was hot, and not spicy, this was cooked seriously fresh. Presentation was very good and it was so hot(physically) I felt I could burn my mouth, but no burns here. It was just fresh off the wok. The Sy’s pad thai was sweet with the tamarind based sauce it was soaking in. It is a welcome change to the average pad thai and a compliment to the cook mixing flavors. During my meal, I am a heavy drinker of water or of any beverage. My server was prompt to refill my water, however, even when I replied thank you, the same manners/kindness were not necessarily returned. However, I will not take it out on the server, I can only imagine she had a fight with the cook or just having a bad day. Overall, my experience was delightful. At this time, in regards to recommending this place, I can honestly state it is very good thai, not great. I don’t know if the server could of made it even better, but maybe even taken the time out to make a recommendation since I did indicate it was my first time there. I had to find my own recommendations on Unilocal

By far the worst pad Thai I’ve ever had. Service was good but the pad Thai was borderline disgusting.

Randomly stopped by here after looking up nearby restaurants on Unilocal and was very happy we did. Ordered tofu pad Thai and crab rangoons and they truly were amazing and worth eating again. In addition the portion sizes are huge and I had left overs for the next day.

Came here on a Sunday after church service and this place is just like any of its other location. Neat setting and friendly staff. Ordered the Sy Thai Chicken and it is such a ridiculously giant bowl of food! I eat a lot and by the time food coma got to me, there was still half of the food still waiting to be eaten. Packed it and there was barely any room in the container so it makes a really good dish to buy if sharing. Speaking of the size of the dish, the chicken was spectacular. It’s lightly breaded and fried to perfection. If it’s fried, it’s probably going to be good and better yet, it’s tossed in some thick sweet brown sauce. Really good and really really good if you add some sort of spice to it.

My boyfriend and I get carry-out from here at least once per month and I always get the veggie curry. It’s amazing there. I’ve never eaten in– always carry out. But I will continue getting it. Just wish they delivered.(: My only complaint is that no matter how mild you order something it’s so spicy after eating it my lips look like I had Botox.(;

One of the places I go when have the thai withdrawal grabbing me. Chicken lettuce wraps are really good. I usually get a couple of the vegetable dishes and always good. Made fresh. This location is also clean and is a good place to grab a bite with you significant other. Not to casual nor upscale. comfortable ambience. Only had an issue once in a while with calling in an order and language barrier but nothing serious. Solid 4 stars

We ordered the chicken egg noodle and kow pad chicken. Both were great and I’m glad we were able to find good Thai food near our new home as we usually have to hike to Royal Oak area to score some. Looking forward to trying other menu items in the near future. Little more expensive than I usually pay for Thai food but the portion sizes are pretty large

Sy Thai is the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to without question. I’ve gone to many other restaurants, with friends or without, and simply nothing stacks up Sy Thai’s quality, service, and atmosphere. The food is second to none. Everything looks excellent and tastes even better. The spice levels are consistent, and shouldn’t they be? I can be confident in trying new dishes because I know that no matter what, they’ll be prepared as well as they possibly can be. I’ve never had a problem with an order there, ever, and I’ve probably been there at least 20 times. The bubble drinks are well-done also and make a great dessert for two. The service is great, too. I’ve always been seated quickly and never had to wait for a table. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Food comes out quickly and just as you ordered it. My only small, small negative is that with their satay, the peanut sauce is only really good, not awesome. ;) That being said, I can very easily recommend this place to anyone who loves Thai food.

I FINALLYHADTHAI! It was one of the bigger«food groups» I had never tried in over two and a half decades of life. I’ve done sushi and Chinese and eaten all kinds of meat and seafood from around the country. But Thai… I used to be very against spicy food until I started putting sriracha on EVERYTHING almost a year ago. It changed me. It was the first visit for my GF and I. It was pretty dead around 7 p.m. and we could have picked any booth in the place. It’s nice and quiet and pretty relaxing. The service is outstanding. Our waitress told us about the different levels of spice in each dish and gauged what we would like based on our personal preferences, which is usually beneficial. They start out by bringing you chips that are an assortment of colors, like teal, pink, green, etc. It looks like colored Styrofoam and tastes like it too I guess. I wasn’t really in the mood for the faux cotton candy or whatever it was. They also bring you cabbage soup, which contains green onions and chicken. It’s basically a broth but it’s not bad. OK, now the best parts. I got the Pad Thai(first time, I had to!) with the medium sauce. Now, if you’ve never been here, there are six levels of spiciness at your disposal. I got the medium sauce, which is 3rd on the scale. It was still pretty damn spicy! Nice kick to it, cleared my sinuses. The Pad Thai comes with lime and lemon wedges, wide noodles, sauce, crushed peanuts, bean sprouts and egg. It’s pretty good and filling overall(I had to take leftovers home), though the peanuts were a little too much at times. My GF got veggie Thai, basically. She liked it but was not overly impressed. That was my impression as well… the food is good, but a meal for two(with waters) for around $ 25 is kind of steep. Yeah, the portion size is huge but still, it’s not mind-blowing. Filling does not always equate to hunger-quenching. I will have to go back and try other things at some point, but I can’t see myself ordering Thai as much as sushi or Chinese at other venues.

This used to be my favorite Thai place; I’d go here every time I was in town and take my whole family out for dinner– but this year, the ingredients became cheaper and the flavor bland. It’s a real step down from what they were and now it’s just any mediocre Thai place. I hope they can bring back the authenticity, in the meantime I’ll be going elsewhere.
