Love milkshakes. 2 of the 3 we ordered were AWESOMELY wonderful. The third one was awful… Not even remotely edible… and the«super friendly» person working at the drive through couldn’t have cared less. I don’t expect extreme enthusiasm from a drive through worker, but maybe a tad bit less disdain for the human race in general would be nice? Just a suggestion… It’s cheap, and I guess for 2 out of 3 it made our late night stop almost worth it?

4 stars based on the poor manager(Allan) who was working his butt off and the quickness & high quality of food/service that he provided. Decided to give Steak n Shake another try with the understanding they are under new ownership/management, I am afraid things have yet to turn around. Everything is the same since I was an employee, squeezing blood from a turnip, running their employees around like chickens with their heads cut off. It’s a wonder how they are so cheap and potentially so good, but can’t seem to get a decent review. On the plus side, the chili is s0o0o good when it’s made right.

I walked in and swear to god shrek was in there eating. Not to mention other ogre’s were allowed in there as well. There was few talking donkeys, in the corner. Upon other«mystical creatures» they had a lepurcun he was mad he couldn’t find is pot of gold, he didn’t have red hair nor was he wearing grean thou. They were also serving a few bearded women in leather jackets before they left on their motorcycles. It was a fun adventure till the acid wore off. Then i reliezed the service was terrible, they made my food wrong never brought me my snake, or refilled my water. The ogre’s were a group of big nasty drunk girls that just look like shrek, the donkeys in the corner were collage students, the lepurcun was a pissed off miget because he couldn’t reach the top of a table. Those bearded women thou they were even uglier when the acid wore off. They were in fact bearded women.

Me and my husband came to this location yesterday. AWFULSERVICE. First, it took them forever to seat us. A team walked in and all the servers catered to the team, sat them, and began taking their orders. Our server didn’t even take time to do our order since we were the first ones to arrive… we sat there and sat there. they didn’t forget about us because we were sitting right next to the team… they just wanted to table with the bigger tip. Hubby and I lost our appetite and left. I’ve NEVER in my 24 years of living ever walked out of a restaurant because I was not served. I’m offended that we were disregarded and ignored. I wrote up a complaint to their corporate office. Do not come to this steak n shake.

My server, Emily, didn’t notice that I was seated for at least 10 minutes. After getting seated at a dirty table I ordered and got my food and almost everything was wrong. She never came back to check on us and we never got refills. I saw her towards the back of the restaurant and she was on her phone most of the time as well. The people at tables that surrounded me looked very unhappy as well. Overall a terrible experience.

Night service at the drive thru was so slow we had to leave without getting our order. Ten minutes for one car with to in front of us and more waiting. Just terrible.

Ignorant manager Robert he may have been having a bad night but still it’s not that hard to be Professional in a way. Calling customers liars oh goodness… Find another Steak ‘n Shake I’ve been here before as well another time and the floor were so dirty you could see it & fall/lawsuit if you really desired. Make your own food, or hire me as a chef or go to a quality restaurant it’s not worth your last moments for something quick or well you’ll see. They’ll all mess up the order though but that wasn’t even part of this horrible situation. Way beyond unprofessional and I work in customer service and yah this guy shouldn’t even be dealing with people or he needs training On customer service.

So we walk in and I witness an employee sweeping a table… Um okay hope that was a magic broom. Then our server who I could only assume is a villain from a Disney Channel original movie comes up with his hospital bracelet on, at this point I’m feeling like I’ve made bad choices in my life and I’m being punked. Like where is Ashton! But no worries we did receive our food and at the same temperature as the shake we received two visits later. Needless to say this is not a visit I will soon forget.

«Steak and Shake… Famous for Wasting Customers’ Time». After waiting for the late night menu, my wife placed a substantial order online for our family. When I arrived at the restaurant the«drive thru» speaker had a message that the drive thru was closed. Ok… I’ll just go inside. Park, get out and come to find the door was locked. Had to knock on the windows for several minutes before someone came to the door, and said they were closed. Dumbfounded, I told I told the employee there was already an order placed online just 20 minutes earlier and they had already taken our money. All he did was take another ten minutes to process a refund, to top it off he didnt even offer anything for my wasted time, gas, and inconvenience. Not even an apology. Undoubtedly the last time I will go to that particular«Steak and Wait»…of course since we waited for the late night menu, nearly every other place was closed and I had to come home empty handed with my family still very hungry. What really bothers me is that they obviously got the order, but didnt bother to call us to let us know they were closed(they are ALWAYS24 hour), and treated me like *I* was an inconvenience…

This place isn’t too bad during the day from my understanding, but at night the service is really slow, at least whenever my fiancé and I have gone there. One night we waited 15 minutes to even get someone to come around to ask what we wanted to drink, which my fiancé ended up going to the front counter notifying a manager and we finally got someone to get our drinks that WASNTEVENOURSERVER! Also when we tried to tip the guy that went out of his way to get our drinks, he pushed for us not to tip and said rudely«I’m not going to ask you again, stop!» Which came off really rude. Our actual server was extremely slow, got our orders wrong, my garlic steak burger didn’t even have the garlic sauce on the burger, and it took 45 minutes to an hour to even leave the place the service was so slow not to mention there weren’t even many tables filled. I don’t know who the manager is on duty at night, but they really need to train their employees better at service and respect.

I’m not sure of the name, but the employee that worked the morning shift of 8⁄15 at 4 in the morning(colored male) by far made my steak n shake experience the best it’s ever been. He was helpful on me choosing something to eat off the menu and on top of that the food he cooked was top of the line It was the best burger I’ve had cooked in 3 mins, straight up. Dude deserves props

I stopped in here at 5:10am this morning hungry for a burger and not breakfast food. To my surprise the drive in was closed so I went inside to eat. Wow…not a customer in sight so I has the place to myself. I ordered a triple cheesburger, fries, and a bowl of chili. Thats where ever thing was a surprise. The burger was cooked perfect and super hot. The chili and fries super hot too. I just didn’t realize Steak n Shake could be this good. In 40 years of burgers I have never had one as good as was cooked by Logan. It was awesome. I am actually back here tonight because my experience was that good. Wow!

Easily the worst Steak N Shake we’ve ever been to. It is consistently a terrible wait in line(drive thru) I sat in line for 45 minutes once(I really wanted late night food) They offer terrible waits and terrible service. Only go here if you’re wasted.

I love Steak ‘n Shake! I would frequent this location on Fridays when I was in college to reward myself after a week of hard work. I have not eaten inside this particular location in quite some time. I was once given a gift card, either as a Christmas or Birthday present. One day, I stopped in because I needed to put more money on the card. I liked having it as I didn’t always need to carry cash on me(and I did not have a credit card at the time). I kept my receipt from the transaction, and noticed the card wasn’t reloaded properly. To confirm that the card wasn’t reloaded properly, I checked the«Steak ‘n Shake Gift Card Website.» I don’t know if this website is still active, but at the time(late 2004 or sometime in 2005), you could log-on with your gift card number/PIN and check your balance, and see all of the activity on your card. Pretty cool, IMO. So, after carefully checking all of the account activity and double-checking my receipt, I knew the money I had paid wasn’t credited to my gift card. So, I printed the activity log to take with me to the restaurant, along with my receipt, and obviously, gift card. Armed with my proof, I stopped in to the restaurant and spoke with the manager. He was an older gentleman, with white hair and very tall. He was VERY rude, accused me of lying, and would not help me. Deal-breaker! I love SNS, but will NOT be accused of lying and/or be treated rudely and unfairly. My last time inside this restaurant was to seek help from a different employee. I can’t remember if I contacted corporate office or the restaurant itself. In the end, I got every penny I had paid… and was not given grief by this other employee. I have driven through the drive-thru a handful of times since then, but have not been back inside. I doubt this rude manager is still working. I’m inclined to stop in and give them another chance, even if it’s nearly 10 years later. Managers need to remember their customer service… and not forget about websites like Unilocal

The drive-through is amazingly slow. Very slow. I am typing this review from the drive-through and I still don’t have my food yet. I have been in the drive-through for more than 10 minutes. This is crazy. I understand it’s 1PM but there were only four cars in front of me.

Since one just opened here where I live, I had to go here. Very reasonable and the milkshakes are great! I had a mushroom swiss hamburger with french fries. It was good but I have tasted better. For me there did not seem like there was enough mushrooms or swiss on the burger itself. The wait staff was great, friendly and professional. I plan to go here in Virginia once the lines are not wrapped all the way around the building.

This Steak and Shake has a special place in my heart since I had my first date with my wife here. That’s why we keep coming back. The only problem in the college kids sometimes make is a «hangout» and are quite annoying, but if you can stomach them, the food will make up for the annoyance. Try the 7×7 if you go after midnight. It’s a great heart attack plate of wonderful cheesy beefness!
