It is a great idea for the St. Charles Park District to include the map for the STC underground’s St. Charles’ City-Wide Garage Sales fund raiser. I wish the maps had the locations numbered on the maps.(See Geneva, Illinois’ city wide garage sales maps). I spent hours putting them on my copies as I do not live locally and am not familiar with the streets. I know I won’t take the time to do that next year. It seemed the only way to go to the sales without driving in circles. If each participant indicated their sale on a map when they signed up, it would make it easy and quick for someone to compile them on a single map for the sale.

Last night we had our first event at the Baker Community Center(operated by the St Charles Park District). It was a smashing success, in no small part thanks to the staff of the Baker Center. The facility itself is beautiful and well-maintained for a building of its age(1927) and is a classic of its period. Connie, who handled our booking and contract arrangements was thorough and professional from day one and kept up with all of our changes as we tried to nail down a band and coordinate the date. Mark, the custodian, went above and beyond, helping us and the band load in all of our junk as well as the band’s musical instruments, speakers and sound equipment. His attitude and willingness to jump in and get involved in the event are a huge asset to the facility. We will absolutely be back!

I signed my son up for an infant swim class. We went to the first class and there were about 30 babies with a parent in a pool. The water was freezing. The instructors were obnoxious. After the first class I requested to have my son taken out of the class and they informed me my reasons for wanting a refund are not good enough. How are you to know a class is going to be awful before you attend the first class? *I did end up getting a refund — with a doctor’s note.
