Hues Hair Salon

I’ve had the same stylist for 37 years (my mom), but when it came to my friend’s big day, and invited me to get my hair and makeup done with her as a bridesmaid, I was like heck yeah!!!
There was a wedding party of 5 of us there for services, and Liz was a family friend to the bride and her mother.
They let us bring in a little lunch, a few adult beverages, and relax while each of us took turns getting beautiful!
I was totally down with whatever my bride wanted us to do with hair/​makeup (it was HER day after all) but she let us have free reign, and I quickly found a cute style on pinterest I wanted to try…
Liz worked her magic on my baby fine hair, worked quickly, was hilarious and warm, and gave me the style I wanted!
I also had my makeup done here… and (ugh, I forgot her name too!) but she was amazing. I brought my own makeup from home (I can be picky about certain products) and we talked about the look I was going for, my preferences… and the result was amazing.
What I have learned after getting makeup professionally done over the last few months: You will feel like it may be a bit much… but don’t worry! They know what they are doing and how to work that brush so it creates magic for the cameras! We were there pretty early, (11 am for a 5 pm wedding) and I only touched up once or twice before the ceremony, and the look lasted all night.
I totally recommend this location for anyone in St. Augustine, or getting married in St. Augustine! They made the day fun and relaxing for all of us, and the result for the entire party was gorgeous!

I went to Hues for my hair for prom. They were great about working around my two jobs and the place is much bigger than you think. I had Kathryn and she was wonderful with helping with my updo. I wasn’t too sure of what I wanted but I broughtin pictures and she used her creative talent to exceed my expectations. And she even axed pieces to my hair. I was skeptical trying a new place but they did more than I could’ve hoped. Very friendly people. Any updo in the future will be done there.

I went to Hues for the first time recently and had my hair cut by Brittany, who I couldn’t recommend more! I showed her a few pictures and she asked me some questions to really understand what I wanted and what would work best for me. I liked that she was able to offer suggestions because in the end it turned out even better than I pictured! I will be going to her from now on!
I really liked the atmosphere at Hues as well, it was very welcoming and relaxed and I had a nice glass of wine while getting my hair cut! Brittany and the other stylists made me feel very comfortable while I was there and everyone was super friendly!

Currently, I live in Atlanta, but I am planning my wedding down in St. Augustine where our families friends are since we lived in Jacksonville for many years before moving to Atlanta a year ago.
When planning on where to go and who to have do my hair for my engagement photos and wedding, I knew I wanted to go to Liz at Hue’s. Liz has been a family friend for several years, and now that she’s at Hue’s I knew I had to reach out to her. Little did I know that Hue’s has so much to offer, especially for bridal parties!
For your wedding day, you can set up hair, makeup and nail appointments for you and your girls all at Hue’s. They will set up a table for you to have wine and snacks if you would like, too, which of course most everyone wants! They also schedule all of your party so that everything will fit into your time line. It is really great! You do have to put 20% down to save the date for your wedding crew to come in, but it is easy for your girls to pay you back.
If you would like, you can come in for a test hair and makeup session to see what you would really like to do. There is a cost for this, but it is discounted from the day-​of costs. I decided what better time to test out hair and makeup than before my engagement photos.
I showed up and was first greeted by my makeup artist (I feel awful, I cannot think of her name!!). She was so sweet and made me feel so welcome. She let me know that Liz (for my hair) was just finishing up with another client, and would be right with me. When Liz took me back, the first thing she asked after greeting me was if I would like a glass of wine… um…YES! Then we sat down and she got to business after I showed her the picture I liked for my hair. We chatted, laughed and just enjoyed time together while she worked on my hair. She did a great job! Even made it so we would know how the veil would be put in on the actual wedding day so it would stay while I wanted it, but easily come out for the reception.
Once we were done with hair, it was on to makeup… and another glass of wine! It was such a wonderful makeup experience. She sat down with me and just talked about what I was thinking, what I liked, what I didn’t like, anything I was worried about and my skin. She got to know me, which really just made me feel very comfortable. We talked the whole way through the makeup process about the makeup as well as just life. I had a couple changes where I wanted lighter eyeshadow or darker eyeliner, and she was so helpful to make it exactly what I wanted. When she was done, I had the look I hoped for, me with just a little more definition. (I do not wear a lot of makeup.)
Now finding Hue’s is easy but hard all at the same time. It is right off of Anastasia Blvd., but looks very tiny from the front. Luckily, I was being dropped off, so we did not have to find parking.
My experience with Hue’s was really just wonderful! I cannot wait to go back with my girls and my mom on my wedding day!

Thank you to Sara, Rebecca and Liz for taking such fabulous care of me. The make-​up and hair was just perfect for my «Engagement Pictures» that actually would be my wedding. (Big Secret!) Everything was very last minute so I had to put my trust in people I had never dealt with before because I am from North Carolina. I couldn’t have been more comfortable and thrilled with the results. What a wonderful salon!

Hues is amazing and Elena is God’s gift to hair.
I walk in look at Elena and ask her to make it look nice or bounce some ideas off of her and she sits me down and give me the most perfect cut and color better than I ever could have imagined in my life for my hair. I put all my faith in her skill for my hair. I am very picky and literally did a preinterview 6 years ago before I let her touch my hair.
I now live in South Florida but still come up to get my hair done by her because she is that incredible!
Linda is the lady to go to for your up do and she is also an owner she is really skilled with hair too and her updos are perfect for all women and every event!
Linda & Patty are the owners and are great also. The salon is always clean, organized, professional, and friendly. They actually travel and do hair for models during fashion week and shows in Florida. Their hair dos on the Oscar de la Renta models was really beautiful!
Their prices are reasonable and they are frequently attending Bumble and Bumble training courses and very up to date and knowledgeable about current styles for color and cut.
