Omar’s represents THEBEST in what a small neighborhood restaurant should be: GREAT food, friendly staff, decent prices. Bonus: They deliver! If you are into authentic Mediterranean come check this little gem out!!! Small(8 tables) and CASUAL.

Dinner: My bf & I finally decided to give Omar’s a try & so glad we did. Started dinner off with the appetizer, mushrooms parmesan. Omg, devine… breaded mushrooms sit on a zesty red sauce, smothered on top, mozzarella so stringy and cheesy, fresh chopped parsley. My Pasta Con Pesci had fresh ground pepper in a creamy 3 cheese sauce with Rigatoni, mushrooms, shrimp and crab seasoned with just right amount of kick. He got the Rib eye with baked potato and the steak was cooked perfectly with a great choice of fresh vegetables including seasoned and sauteed onions, carrots, zucchini, broccoli and cauliflower. Topped the night off with a piece of Cheesecake(was a little bit too frozen) and brownie cheesecake both had chocolate drizzle and a cherry on top. Delicious and job well done. Service: Waitress was scarce immediately after we ordered our food and the appetizer was delivered after our dinner was served, but despite all that, I still felt I won over by the obvious TLC put into preparation and cooking after enjoying this wonderful meal. We will definitely be coming here again, if you’re looking for a wonderfully prepared meal for a decent price, you’ll find this jewel on the middle of St Charles Rock Rd in St Ann, right next to Quick Trip & directly across from Acapulco Lounge & Imo’s pizza. One more thing, they noticed I was cold in the restaurant & turned up the heat for me. Very nice, attentive and compassionate… something you’d never find in a chain. Thanks for reading.

I grew up in an Italian family in the northeast. I’ve eaten and made better cannelloni than this before. Not only was it burnt, but there’s only sprinkled cheese on top, no ricotta or other cheese inside. The meat inside was unrecognizable. I don’t know how you mess up sauce, cheese and pasta this bad. Basic dish. And for that reason, I’m out.

We are regulars here. Wish there were some more vegan options. We usual order and take it home to add ingredients to improve the dish.

I had tried this place once before and it was just ok. I’m a big fan of Greek and Mediterranean and have had all of what I consider the best in St. Louis. Olympia, gyro house, Ari’s, and so on. But this place will never ever gain any sort of prestige in the restaurant business if they don’t get their act together. Basically I had ordered delivery and waited 2 hours before I finally decided to call. They proceeded to tell me that I should have let them know sooner. Wait a minute… You guys wanted ME to call YOU to remind YOUR dumbass about the food you were supposed to deliver. Never in my life would I imagine that an employee would sabotage the business they work for to such a degree. It offended me so much I have told everyone who ask the story. I would beware of this shitty restaurant. If you wanna call it that. More like a sick joke. End rant.

I love all the different varieties of pizza that they have & the servers are really friendly. Their rolls make for a great starter. I’ve also had the chicken Parmesan which is delicious & what made it truly unique was how the food was cooked in a brick oven.

Oh fellow Unilocalers, how badly you led us astray! If I could kick your collective butts I would, but barring that, how about just warning, poor, unsuspecting visitors like us??? :-( Okay, I’m not going to say Jack about the crazy, grandma decorating style. Or the dirty doors, walls or tables. Or even THE worst high school(or maybe Jr. High) server EVER. Sullen, low talking, slow and clueless, I can’t believe the poor owner couldn’t find a better face for his business. My husband had the lasagna special($ 9.99) which included a truly weird salad. Imagine a small plate of iceberg, absolutely drowned/swimming in a sweetish, anchovy based dressing. The lasagna was super cheesy and had a nice sauce. Four complimentary rolls were given to us to munch while we waited. The worst part of the entire meal was my entrée. Based on the reviews of other Unilocalers, I ordered the beef and lamb Shwarma plate($ 12.99) with basmati rice, supposedly ‘homemade’ hummus and 4 triangles of pita bread. The rice was sadly dry and tastless, the ‘tsasiki’ sauce was like a thick version of my husband’s salad dressing, the hummus was delicious but PREMADE. How did I know? The expiration date was stamped on the side of the little container. The saddest part was the lamb and beef. Shwarma should not be cooked on a flatop or grill, mixed with onions and green peppers and brought to you swimming in oil. The steak pieces were small and few and the lamb chunks were overcooked, dry and some pieces had gristle. Yuck, nothing, absolutely nothing like any Shwarma I’ve ever tasted in a legit Greek restaurant. Strikeout #2 in St. Louis for the holiday weekend.

Great food and great prices. The staff is very friendly. The place might too small at times. I’ve had the ribeye steak it was great. But I love the deluxe supreme pizza. Cooked perfect everytime. The toppings tastes fresh. No pork so it’s all beef products which are still delicious.

I am always confused when I get bad food at a place with multiple 5-star reviews. I took my 3 year-old daughter with me because we were in the area and Unilocal!showed a 4-star average. My daughter had the spaghetti and meatballs. Her order came out in a baking dish that was VERY hot. The pasta around the edge of the dish was overdone and dry, completely inedible. I’m not sure what the problem was with the cheese but it was one giant mass in the middle of the dish. This being touted as a «Mediterranean restaurant», I thought shawarma would be a safe order. I opted for the lamb and beef shawarma. Both the lamb and the beef were overcooked and dry and different temps throughout. Microwave? We were the only patrons dining in though they did have one person come in for carry out and the delivery driver made one delivery. I get it that it is tough to serve menu items that might not be ordered as much as others when business is slow. I have had WAY better Mediterranean in town. Al-Abolish, for example. Just a bad experience; probably won’t go back.

Had a coupon, had the urge for something Mediterranean, so took a chance. It paid off. This is a small(3 tables and 4 booths) family run place where Omar still cooks, and his wife and daughters take care of things out front. The food was excellent! My wife had steak Mudiga, and I had a kabob platter with lamb, beef, and chicken. Both were very well prepared. The Mudiga sauce was nice and creamy with lots of mushrooms, and the kabobs were all very nicely seasoned. They also have shawarma, pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. Looking around at what others had on their tables, it all looked good. I’d definitely recommend Omars for good Mediterranean style good. We’ll be going back.

This restaurant is definitely one that surprised me the most when reviewing the place. From the outside, it looks like as if the place is about to close or just totally run down. I went in to be let down. I got a weird vibe when going in because it felt like I walked into a place that haven’t figured out it identity. The décor didn’t match their menu and their menu didn’t match the signage. It was an odd mixture of things that were put together as an afterthought. We were the ONLY ones in on a Friday noon. So me and my buddy were incredibly skeptical about the food when we were already thrown off by the interior design of this cutesy diner/restaurant/eatery/lounge place. You’ll get what I mean when you come by for a visit here. Enough about the offputting décor, everything else here was top notch. Service was spot on. We were served by two teenagers and they were friendly. Perfect for this setting. I got the beef shawarma platter and my bud got the gyro platter. I’ve had my share of Mediterranean food and I kid you not, this place has got the seasoning of the gyro meat and beef kabobs on point. The beef shawarma I got was tender and mouthwatering. I wish there was more of it on my plate. The hummus was amazing here as well. Fresh and fantastic. The tzatziki. Wow! It was so creamy and flavorful, I wish I had more of it slathered all over my plate. The plating leaves a lot to be desired but I could care less because I cleaned up the plate rather quickly because every component of my platter tasted yummy so it was a none issue. If you crave Mediteranean food, please come here and visit and prepared to be mesmerized. Forget the décor for a little bit and just try this place out. When the food comes out, you will be shocked as to how great the food tastes here.

One of the best kept Mediterranean secrets in St. Louis. Best gyro I’ve had outside of Greece & Europe. Prices are reasonable and the staff fast and friendly. Love the authenic owners … they are true to their heritage in food, fashion and friendliness.

Admittedly, I have never actually been to this restaurant BUT I have ordered delivery on multiple occasions and the food is outstanding. First of all, a Mediterranean place that delivers?! Hell yes. Second, some of the BEST baba ganoush I have ever had, seriously… I don’t know what they put in that stuff but I find myself craving it a lot, I mean a whole freaking lot. Third, the gentleman that delivers the food is SO nice. Lastly, you cannot beat the portion sizes for the price! Really, really great all around. I will be eating here as long as I am living in St. Louis.

I picked up my friend from the airport and wanted to get lunch nearby so we stopped at Omar’s. We each had shawarma(one chicken, one beef) sandwiches which came with a nice serving of thick cut fries for $ 7. We also had some humus and pita bread to start. Everything was really tasty and the waitress was very nice and despite what some other reviews have said, the service was very fast. In terms of a cheap, tasty, lunch with good portions, this place hit the spot. I would definitely eat here again.

Boy am I glad I didn’t read a book by its cover. Driving up, my husband and I thought to ourselves«Do we really wanna stop and eat here?» We were the only customers inside and with it being almost eight on a Tuesday evening that wasn’t entirely surprising. He ordered the gyro and i the chicken shwarma. I have never had a meal so hot, so juicy, or so fresh in my life as this one I had tonight at Omar’s. We will be making this our spot in St Louis to stop each time we come through.

Pretty authentic and a nice variety. Very accommodating for our group of 8… half being children under 8 years old. Brought some baklava back for a snack later.

Ordered delivery to the Hotel Renaissance near the airport – EXCELLENT service and food! And prices are great. The woman who took my order was SO nice and accommodating with my gluten– and dairy-free requests, and the order arrived just as she had promised, with dairy free dressing and cucumber slices instead of pita. The wait was exactly as she had promised: 45 minutes, the delivery guy was really sweet. As for the food – the chicken on my Omar salad was perfectly cooked, and the lemon-olive oil dressing absolutely delicious. All the veggies were fresh and crisp, the chicken still hot. The side of hummus I got was just as another reviewer had described: like buttah! Really impressed with the quality and service I received.

My out-of-town friend wanted to go to lunch. He was staying at an airport hotel and we asked the front desk for a suggested. They mentioned Omar’s for good Mediterranean food. My buddy is a Middle Eastern food expert, so we gave this place a try. To say the least, we were pleasantly thrilled! This wonderful hole-in-the-wall is small enough to feel comfy but not too tiny to feel cramped. We walked in and were immediately greeted. We were invited to sit anywhere. Four of the tables were taken by obvious regulars(always a good thing to see). The server came right over, gave us our menus and took our drink orders. The menu was extensive and impressive. We started with an order of Baba Ghanouj and Hummus. I had never tried Baba Ghanouj but my friend swore by it. I’m glad he forced me to try it. Fantastic! Fresh and spicy. I’m now a fan. The hummus was creamy and tangy. It was obviously made in-house and made that morning. My buddy had the Kofta Kabab. Its a middle eastern burger made with ground beef and lamb, spices, onion, parsley; grilled and served on a toasted bun. It was fantastic.(I stole a bite just to try it) My Gyro was spectacular. The meat was seasoned to perfection. The sauce was cool and tasty. We could barely finish the large portions but everything was too good not to eat. We left stuffed with smiles on our faces. I recommend Omar’s for great cuisine in a casual atmosphere and at a great price.
