I also had a problem with the radio in my 94 Blazer. I wanted to keep the dash original, and I really liked the sound quality on the old radio, so rather than buy a new one I went looking for a place that could still repair 23 year old car radios. M&R emailed me a quote the same day, and I shipped off the radio with a list of issues I’d been having. I got a call two days later with a quote to replace the power switch, which was the cause of the malfunction. But since they had the radio out anyway, they also offered to replace the old capacitors and bulbs, tighten up the belts on the tape deck, and clean the heads — all for $ 125. I couldn’t have bought a new one that cheap. I had the radio back by the end of the week, with a one year warranty, and it sounds better than ever! Very, very happy with these guys!

Well it looks like I get to post the first Unilocal review for M & R Electronics. Here is the story: I own a 1994 Chevrolet Full Size Blazer 4WD. Bought it new in 1993. About a month ago, after getting in and starting it up, I noticed the stereo(the original factory Delco) would not lock onto a station and was constantly scanning/searching for the next one. I could hear music, etc., however, the stereo just wouldn’t stop searching. Additionally, at every station it did quickly stop on and then pass, there was considerable static noise in the background. Figured it was time to pull it and get it fixed. I started looking around for repair centers, because I didn’t like the looks of how and where replacement after-market stereos were being installed in this model truck and I wanted to keep my truck all original. It is a cherry. M & R Electronics popped up in a search, so I sent them an e-mail with the described problems. I received a very quick reply that suggested it was the receiver box under the dash. I was quoted a price for repair and promptly removed the box and shipped it off(Vegas to Michigan). A few days went by and I got a phone call from a repair tech(sorry I didn’t get his name). I thought I was going to hear bad news of some sort(my luck). To my surprise, the tech told me he could not find anything wrong with the unit and suggested the cause of my problem may have been antenna-related. Hearing the good news about not finding any problems with my original receiver box, I expected I would have to pay for the diagnosis and shipping back to me. Can you believe this!!? The tech told me they would ship it back to me no charge and there was no charge for the diagnosis. I couldn’t believe it. Seriously, could not believe it. No charge? For anything? Yep. That’s what he said. Now I have been around for a long time and honest repair shops(of any type) are normally rare and hard to find. M & R could have just charged me what was quoted originally, since I would have never known there wasn’t anything wrong with my stereo. I would have paid for the repair and been happy with it. So for being such a stand up business, five stars are certainly deserved. I thank you for your honesty and wish you continued success as a business. HD.
