This review will be a short one. To borrow a word from Dave W’s review, I concur and find this place unremarkable. The AYCE fried haddock was very blah. It was accompanied by the worst tartar sauce I’ve ever tasted. The fries were old. The veggie pinini which sounded interesting, yet when delivered to the table was totally soaked in oil, which made the bottom part of the Panini sandwich completely soggy. The lone bright spot, the bloody Mary’s were delicious. One and done for this place.

I had the $ 8.95 Ruben sandwich, I couldn’t find the Corned Beef(the little bit that was on the sandwich was dried out) the bread was very greasy! The waitress was great!

I don’t even know where to start. 2 months ago I would have given this place many more stars. I ate there only twice & had the same dish; crab legs. Both times they were great! Since then I’ve ate here 4 additional times. I’ve ordered breakfast & lunch and neither were hardly edible! One visit I ordered the breakfast quesadilla. The eggs were so over cooked! It had that nasty burnt egg taste! It was supposed to be stuffed with bacon, cheese and all the yummy stuff. It was paper thin! My dogs ended up eating breakfast under the table while I choked on the after taste! I was hoping it was just a «bad day» & returned during one of the festivals. I got a chef salad to bring home. The cost was about 12 $ but that’s the going rate for a chef salad. Good thing for them I got it to go because I almost died when I opened the container… Shredded lettuce & a few slices of processed cheese & ham! It honestly looked like the«chef salads» I use to get in my high school cafeteria! Unfortunately, it tasted even worse! I can go on & on about my other 2 trips; but you get the point! I think the 2 good trips to Safety Harbor Bar & Grill that were positive wasn’t the norm… crappy, over priced food is! The waitstaff was wonderful every time but the owner or manager needs to learn«public relations» & not be rude to displeased customers!

Nothing like a place that emphasizes enjoyment of our great Florida weather! This is a great little bar and grill on the West end of Main Street in Downtown Safety Harbor. The best part about it is that the restaurant is essentially a large covered deck full of tables with a full bar. There are also several tables streetside with their own separate overhang. The staff were friendly and helpful. Americana and sports bar type food. They had a great guitar player to add to the Florida outdoor dining feeling. This is a super place to start or end your Third Friday experience!

I was visiting some friends in Safety Harbor and we tried to grab dinner on third Friday, which apparently is a big deal in Safety Harbor. After seeing the wait times at a couple of other places, we decided to visit the Safety Harbor Grill & Bar. I want to start with the positives. The waiter who greeted us was very friendly and they did seat us at an outdoor table. Unfortunately that’s about all the positives about this place. Oh, actually the fried pickles were alright. As far as food, the seafood alfredo was baaaaad(yes I ordered seafood alfredo as it was a Friday on Lent). The noodles were overcooked and the sauce was obviously straight out of a can. The shrimp also had some bits of peel attached to it. My buddy ordered the buffalo wrap and it came out in a form I haven’t seen. Maybe wraps that are pressed like paninis are the norm around here, but first time I’ve seen it. My other gripe was that after seated outside, service was a bit slow. Our waitress was friendly when she was around but that wasn’t that often. I hate giving bad reviews, especially to a place where the staff is all around friendly so my 2.5 rating is bumped up to a 3.

The food is okay, friendly staff. For a seaside town, the food should be more focused on seafood dishes, local dishes, and not your typical Philly cheese steak, over priced crab legs, and pasta. It’s a good stop with outdoor seating, clean and breezy.

I can only speak for myself, and honestly thought the reviews would have better when I opened up to write this. I walked in for lunch, fairly empty. Nice looking place I could see going back to right on the street. Got the lobster roll which was ok… tasted too much tomato and not enough lobster, but hey it was lunch and it was $ 11. Menu is Long as they serve a bunch of stuff. Quick service, nice staff, fairly good food. I’d go back so I give it a 4. Looks like from other reviewers I wouldn’t go when busy though. I’ll edit this if I return and see all that.

We went here for lunch, hubby ordered a crown and coke, I ordered a glass of Chardonnay(mirassou or something like that) I saw them opening a bottle of Barefoot. They didn’t have the one I ordered and they weren’t going to tell me. By this time hubby was done with his drink, so we decided to leave as then menu sucked. We paid for the one drink, $ 9. and change, paid with a $ 50 dollar bill, we were given back 2 $ 20 dollar bills and the coins. Any server with common sense would break down the bills so you can leave a tip. They weren’t surprised when we left, probably happens a lot. I’d stay clear of this place. The gourmet sandwich shop is very good just up the street.

I don’t typically go out of my way to write a negative review, or reviews at all. but hopefully this will save people a chunk of change. Certain days they have all you can eat crab legs, my favorite. Meal started out with my mother ordering pineapple and vodka, and she mentioned her pinapple juice tastes expired. And then I had my Sprite which was just plain flat. Moving on to the entrée. $ 35 – 38 for the ayce. A bit pricey as I usually spend $ 25 – 28. If you like licking salt rocks, this is the place for you lol we thought it was maybe the batch we got. We asked if the chef could not put salt when boiling them, our waitress(who was very nice) said they do not use salt. It was kind of unbearable but we ate them anyways. Very disappointed as a whole. To top it off, my last batch of legs were half frozen. and they don’t have wet wipes. NOTWORTHTHEPRICEATALL. Google all you can eat crab legs for your area and choose somewhere else. Cooters on Clearwater beach was cheaper and amazing.

What a total surprise! We live in Tampa and had a free day so decided to try something different. Haven’t been here in years and stumbled across the SHBG. Had the AYCE crab legs and my friend had the grouper sandwich. Excellent! From the dinner salad to the freshness of the seafood, nailed it! The bartender Leslie was a riot and kept my beers full. All around a great experience!

I ate here once. We found the service friendly, the food totally unremarkable, and the porch hot and muggy since it’s outside, in Florida. Consequently, we haven’t returned and we don’t plan to.

I ate breakfast here and had the skillet. Avoid this place unless you just don’t care what you eat. The portion was extremely small and the hash browns overcooked. For $ 7.50 there was precious few vegetables and sausage. Potatoes were very greasy. The coffee was weak and tasteless. I asked for tomatoes instead of toast and was served very anemic looking items. Seriously! How hard is it to buy good tomatoes in Florida, unless you just don’t care.

Grouper was supposed to be «stuffed». It came out with fake crab on top and tasted frozen and microwaved. I couldn’t eat it. Won’t be back

First time in there tonight. The«live music» they had playing there was. …just awful. … basically a four piece singing over karaōke music tracks, and the percussionist couldn’t even stay in time with the backing tracks that was playing percussion. Now to the, umm, food. Just god awful. We ordered the special, stuffed grouper with veggies and potatoes. I always thought that something being described as stuffed meant that in this case the grouper would be stuffed with something inside the filet. But, it was just piled on top of a very thin piece of fish. The food had no seasoning to it, and the crab stuffing was a bunch of unrecognizable bits with a couple pieces of imitation crab meat. It’s really a shame because the bar and grill has a great location, but whoever is in charge of this place needs a wakeup call. It really doesn’t even deserve 1 star. …

Worst dining experience ever tonight. Got the all you can eat crab legs. Waited 30 minutes too get the first round. They started closing up in front of me after two small round of legs, so I told them bring me 5 clusters so the kitchen could start closing. I get it, I worked in restaurants, the bad attitude waitress brought one cluster and they were still frozen on the inside. The Croatian manager on duty was sexually harrasing the poor girls right in front of me and I paid $ 29 for the crab that I wasn’t done eating before they started serving frozen crab legs. So fucking pissed man. Don’t ever go there. Screw you safety harbor grill. You suck balls

Seating was nice outside but food and service was awful. Got the AYCE Ribs which seemed to be boiled and tasted like beef stew. Asked the waitress how they were cook and she had no idea. Sent them back and ordered a pressed sandwich which took over 15 minuets to get back to the table. When we asked what was taking so long to what looked like the manager we were told it was our fault for sending it back and our food went to the end of the line. I would never go back and have no idea why people even eat there.

The all you can eat fish dinner is not cod, despite what your server may tell you, it’s tilapia. I just ate something I never want to eat. Yuck!
