First off, what’s not to love about these stores, everything’s a dollar? This particular store sells a lot of odds and ends, and they are constantly getting new stuff in. Actually, they’re always restocking shelves here. The few things that annoy me about this place is that it needs a major upgrade. It seems/smells old in some parts… carpet is coming up, different tiles in another part, and expired candies. The store really isn’t too organized. I understand, it’s a dollar store… it’s gonna be messy, but what annoys me is that sometimes… I feel like they just hang stuff where there’s space, whereas if they would just take the time to organize a section, they would have more room. But overall, it’s a great place to come too.

This is an independent dollar store, not part of a chain or franchise. It’s family-owned, and you can see that the owners struggle in the competitive retail environment. Still, Dollar Zone is a big advantage to the community. This dollar store is a true dollar store, with every item(save for the very rare special) being $ 1. They have a wide, and ever changing, selection of goods, including: housewares, toys, gardening supplies, cleaners, snack foods, health care, tools, books, craft supplies, and decorating items. They also have amazing values on wrapping paper, bows, ribbons, gift bags, etc. Durring the holidays, Dollar Zone becomes my only stop for gift wrapping supplies. They have a much wider range of sizes for gift bags(you cant beat $ 1 gift bags) than Dollar Tree. They also have cloth wine bags, bows, ribbons(including embossed fabric ribbons), holiday cards, tape, gift boxes(packages of 7 giftboxes for a dollar – again you cant beat it), tissue paper, ornaments & decorating items, and good quality gift wrap. Since they are independent, the stock changes pretty much weekly. They buy bulk overstock from other companies and get amazing deals on glassware and plates. I am not ashamed to say that I got all the dishes and glasses I needed for my first apartment here – and I still use them as casual dishes today. The quality is comparable, and frequently superior, to that of Ikea or Walmart. I do deduct some stars for the disorganization and disrepair of the store. The carpet needs to be replaced,(in some cases patched with duct tape), and the isles are very crowded. But for a small, family-owned business struggling to get by, and for the quality and selection of goods, I always return to Dollar Zone.
