Ripoff Bastards! #UHaulRipoff — what a bunch of b@st@rds! I rented a truck for 24 hours at 10pm, but they wanted it back at 7:30am so it could be re-rented… but I would still be charged the full day rate! So I’m late with it and now they want to charge me 48 hours when it hasn’t even been 14, let alone 24. Screw them! I’ll go Ryder next time.

The Manager Paul was very helpful and friendly on helping get a truck sameday without reservations. I would definitely come back for future truck rentals.

I made a reservation for a 14′ moving truck about a week prior to my move and when I arrived at my appointed time, there was no truck. Oh, they had the reservation, they just didn’t have the truck. I sat in the office for a half hour as the weekend employee at that location spoke to customer service. I was then handed the phone and given the option to go to a location fifteen miles away to rent a larger truck at the full-price. Not only would I be paying more for truck space I didn’t need, I’d also be paying more to transport it to and from my residence(since they also charge for mileage and fuel). I passed on that offer and instead requested the $ 50 rental guarantee. Customer service assured me over the phone that it would be taken care of and that the credit would appear on my credit card statement. It’s been nearly a month and I have yet to see any of that credit. I contacted customer service again and was told that I was supposed to have filed a formal complaint – information I was not given the first time when I asked specifically if there was anything I needed to do to receive the credit. I understand that if you have to move, you’re going to need a moving truck and U-Haul is one of the most affordable companies around. I would just confirm and reconfirm prior to your rental appointment.
