Tonight we had Michael Patten, Stephen furey, Johnny Taylor, Alfonso Portela, Jamie Fernandez, and Daniel Humbarger! Each and everyone was amazing!!! Can’t find a better deal around…$ 8.00 for now. Take advantage.

This punny theater is in an adorable Victorian house. Having always wanted to check out the inside of Midtown’s most beautiful homes and being a big fan of both dessert and live(inexpensive) theater, I was happy to finally be able to attend a production here. I was only able to find out the schedule of shows by signing up for their e-newsletter. I don’t know if there is another way. We saw«Opportunity of a Lifetime» for $ 10/ea one Friday in January. And well, there’s a reason it only costs $ 10. But if you go in expecting a bunch of amateurs doing their best/having fun and a stage with close to 0 of the perks of professional theater(like lighting, staging, costumes or scenery), you’ll be entertained. Plus, at intermission, you get to have as many slices of cake(Costco, I believe) as you can stomach and all the coffee/tea you want. So, it’s not a fine evening to broaden your mind with quality acts for the ages, but if you feel like supporting aspiring actors and writers and eating some cake, Thistle Dew will do you just fine.

So can’t recommend at all as we showed up for a show and it had been canceled the week before and the theatre did contact nor did they even post a notice on the theatre door

$ 20 gets you a entertaining play in an intimate setting, plus your choice of delicious dessert and coffee or tea. The plays I’ve seen here have been good — it’s certainly not Broadway, but it’s fun! Great for a low-key evening out. The people who run the place are very friendly, too.

This venue is sadly overlooked probably due to the fact that they usually only do plays written by locals. However, if you’re in the mood to see something you won’t see anywhere else in a place where every seat is excellent and comes with free dessert, coffee, and tea, then you should hit this place up.
