Not impressed at all. Had the chicken fried steak. Couldn’t tell what type of meat it was it was so heavily coated tough and salty. Service was good. Others food was good. They may be back but I won’t.

I love this place! It’s a bit pricey for a diner, but you get lots of food and it’s delicious. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the place is always packed. My first experience, a coworker brought me a plate on a slow day at work. It’s one of the few places I know that serves grits! After that, I was hooked! I have been multiple times and even brought my parents. We can be pretty picky about our food; I don’t like to pay for anything that I can make at home. But, this food is pretty equal to my own AND no dishes. Winning!

A very busy restaurant with a lot of parking. The food was very good with large portions and down home cooking. Very great service a lot of employees to help you.

Oh where do I start how about the good. Best thing period was the strawberry lemonade. My omlett had two pieces of sliced cheese placed on top. Not sure what that was about. The home fried potatoes had no flavor. I couldn’t put enough ketchup, pepper and salt. And still no flavor. Like how do you suck all the flavor out if a meal. My guy ordered a steak sandwich which consisted of a piece of steak between to pieces of bread. No cheese no nothing. Just a naked sandwich. I told him to taste the meat. How surprised would you be to know it had no flavor. His meal came with a side salad. Which to quote him tasted like dirt. Like they hadn’t even washed the lettuce. Not to mention it was lettuce, crutons and salad dressing. WTF kind of salad is that? Never ever again will we eat here.

The food isn’t that great like the other reviews says it is… The place kinda stinks so it made me lose my appetite. The service is ok when they aren’t busy but im definitely not coming back to this place. Not worth it

The restaurant was full when we arrived and after eating we could see why! The service is excellent — every employee was constantly moving and working. I ordered scrambled eggs and asked for my bacon very crisp. This place actually knows how to make crisp bacon! Win!!! For as busy as it was our meal came out fairly quickly and to order. Will definitely return! I’m looking forward to trying their pecan pie

Hadn’t been here in years, and I am scratching my head and wondering why? Decided I wanted a home style breakfast and was actually going to drive to Oakland today to see Los The Pie Queen. Got up late and checked reviews for a good b’fast joint and I was reminded of The Stagecoach. Banging good breakfast and a multitude of choices for ANYBODY looking for a rib sticking meal. Check out their menu; I’m sure you’ll find something to your liking and they also have daily specials. Two meals with coffee for less than $ 30 and more food than you can eat!

We ate here about a week ago, the eggs Benedict was terrible as were the biscuits and gravy. Eggs Benedict is made with hollandaise sauce consisting of egg yolks, spices, and lemon juice. This was some weird cheese sauce situation that was inedible. The home fried potatoes were not browned even, they were still white ahs tasted like they came out of a freezer bag. The biscuits and gravy were flavorless and sad, this is super easy to make if you use real sausage and ingredients not premade box mix. The biscuits were also not good. The service was excellent and the place was clean.

I’m actually really disappointed today. I usually go to the Elk Grove stage coach, I’ve never not liked what I’ve gotten. But today we decided to try this one. The biscuits and gravy was awful. The gravy was milky, very watery I guess. The biscuits were still doughy, they had absolutely NO flavor. My husband ordered the American burrito and the entire burrito was coated with butter. It was leaking out of the burrito. So gross. I had the French toast combo and it was okay. Nothing spectacular. It again had no flavor. And the syrup and no flavor again. I guess it’s no flavor day.

Bad food, bad service, expensive for what it is. Food took forever, everything was cold when it finally came. Server messed up my order. Never got offered refill on coffee. The linguisa tasted like dog food and the canned peaches smelled like chlorine. Passed on eating both of those. Best thing here was the toast. They charge 4 bucks for 2 slices of toast. Crazy. I just don’t know why this place is ever busy. I was hoping for a good little hole in the wall. Ended up being a little shit hole. As much as I don’t like Denny’s, really consider going there over this place! Id give it a zero out of 5 stars if I could.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong items but I wasn’t impressed. I had such high hopes with all the reviews and the pleasant vibe. The best part about this place was the customer service. The eggs literally tasted like dirty socks. The appl sausage was tasty though. The potatoes were mediocre, and the pancakes though super Fluffy were dry and falvorless. The grits had no flavor either but a little salt and pepper and they tasted just fine. The hot chocolate was expected cheap diner chocolate. For the price it’s well worth it to go four miles over to the nearest Mel’s diner or even better if you can handle the wait times, Bacon and Butter. Sorry for the harsh review. The food was sadly terrible. I wanted it to be good. It wouldn’t take much to improve the quality either.

This is a classic staple of South Sacramento. You either love it or hate it. My spinach bacon and cheddar 2 egg omelet was good. It was a large portion with large pieces of bacon. The grits could be creamier but we’re fine after some salt pepper and butter were added. The star of the breakfast selections has to be the home potatoes. Yummy! Don’t forget to upgrade them with bell peppers and onions.

This was the best breakfast I have ever had before. I was torn between getting chicken wings for breakfast and thought it would be a little too heavy, but I thought«oh what the heck, chicken wings it is»! I asked for it to come with a waffle and it also came with 3 eggs. Man what a great decision. I’m definitely coming back again. I’m so full right now though, I can barely breathe, but in a good way.

I am so glad I found this spot on Unilocal.Stagecoach is a rare find. The food is like home cooking done well. I had the fried chicken breast with grits and a biscuit. The chicken was light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly, professional, and attentive. The space was a bit too warm and crowded. A great Sunday morning breakfast experience complete with gospel music playing in the background. Can’t wait to return!

I’ve never felt so tired from eating and I wasn’t even halfway through with my plate. Food coma! Came on a Sunday and the place was cracking. Full house and all, but the waiting list wasn’t moving for awhile even as tables started to clear out… Until the lady behind the register took charge of the situation. She was on fire ordering people what to do(and it needed to be done because I was starving). I would say this needs to be better managed. Now the food. I had the weekend special eggs benny with orange hollandaise sauce w/side of potatoes with green peppers and onions. I’ve had better eggs bene. The orange sauce was a bit zesty for my palate. It just wasn’t for me. The potatoes were okay. For some reason I hit a food coma almost halfway through my plate. The waitress were nice.

Amazingly unique look. 70’s music playing in the background. COMFORTFOOD is the word! I never had such food. You won’t find this restaurant in downtown or anywhere else. Meatloaf and eggs very yummy. We added biscuit and gravy on top for added flavor. Get the bell peppers and onions on your potatoes! YUM! I ordered Philly Scrabble with butter grits. I never had either before so it was new territory. Scrabble was good but I would not order again. The butter grits were amazing! I ordered the biscuit and it was amazing especially with honey. Don’t come with a snobby attitude or you will be disappointed, it’s not like a midtown eatery. This is real everyday folk with amazingly yummy southern comfort food.

Came here on a sunday morning around 1120 am, the place was busy but not to the point where there was a waiting list going on. my friend an i sat down on the booth and was greeted and got a menu in our hands. when i first look at the menu i was overwhelm with all the choices. we could not decide and just said what we want on top of our heads to the server and have them put it in a combo for us. next we were asked what we like to drink and we got 2 ice water with lemon. my friend got the coffee and it was luke warm. it sounded like they brew a big pot and just pour it out like that. it took a while before they brought the cream out to us. also the coffee wasn’t good and was maybe a 2.5 out of 5. next we order and i got the Philly cheese steak sandwich with no fries and sub it for butter grits with no extra charge. the meal also came with soup or a house salad and i took the salad with italian dressing on the side. the salad came first and it was just a normal salad with croutons in it. next the butter grits came out. the grits was good and it was temperature hot which was a plus. the texture reminded me of oatmeal and it was def better and easier to eat than oatmeal. the butter gave it a great flavor, until the maple syrup which came out in a bottle and was warm too and omg it was amazing with the butter grits. it was sweet and buttery good and i was feeling the heart attack. next my Philly cheese sandwich came out and when i went ahead to cut it, and as soon i felt the bread in my fingers i was like oh no the bread is soggy. i was not too happy, i wish it was toasted but i do not want to send it back because i don’t want them to mess with it haha and i was hungry. anyways i finished the sandwich with maybe just a few bites of the roll and threw the rest away. the steak was good with the cheese and mushrooms. it was as juicy as i thought. the meat was a bit too well done. i had add some franks red hot sauce which made the steak tasted better. overall this sandwich was a 3 out of a 5. i should have knew better just to stick with the breakfast menu. next my friend had the southern style chicken wings with waffles. ok the waffles were not crisp and was more doughy. it wasn’t good maybe one piece was eaten and the 3 other piece went to waste. the chicken wings were bomb. they were lightly batter and had a bit of black pepper and salt taste to it. it was more calm for the flavoring. they had some hot sauce on the side and man that did spice up the wings to perfection. with the sauce for the wings i gave it a 5 out of 5. without the sauce that comes with the wings i did give it a 4 out of 5. overall the dish was 4 out of 5. one star for the lack of crisp on waffles. my friend said it was more like a pancake texture. next the service is kind of rude. the server didn’t really look at us when we were ordering or when we asked for more water. yea we had to flag for more water and napkins too. the server was doing her job but just not too friendly. anyways we had a ok experience here for our first time. the crowd in here we found were a mixture of elders and middle age people like in late 20s to 30s. not too many young crowd in here. majority of the crowd were african americans since they are one of the places i know who serve southern country style brunch on sundays. they start serving from 7 am to 3 pm. the building is unique and mainly black and red. the place is easily missed if you don’t pay attention. the place is perfect for one people or up to 4 people seating. in the back room which i found was next to the restrooms do have a few long tables for large party. i don’t think this place is a large party friendly unless you probably reserve it ahead of time. the outdoor seating is more likely to hold larger groups perfectly. i hope this review helps and thanks for reading. add me or follow me if you haven’t. thanks!

I think we were the only Asians at this establishment, hahaha. No matter though. Warning: these are large portions! But good value for your money! We were seated immediately during prime brunch hour(10:30am on Memorial weekend Sunday), which was great. Bacon waffles were sooo good. Lots of bacon chunks and the waffle was fluffy, but also crisp on the outside. Note that the bacon waffle combo costs $ 8.95 + an extra $ 1.50 for the bacon(it doesn’t say this on the menu, nor were we notified beforehand, but that’s what we were charged and we confirmed it later). Biscuits and gravy were also tasty. Note that this special doesn’t come with additional choice os biscuits, toast, or muffin like the other specials.
