Very kind and understanding woman I’m new to the area and I missed my exit so I was 10 minutes late. She did not mind and there was no passive aggression detected :) –Her energy is clear, refreshing and welcoming. –Her touch was gentle and treated my natural hair with tender loving care, minimal breakage –she didn’t push my skull around, as some stylists do when they don’t like you, she was respectful and gently moved my head when needed. –I explained I was allergic to synthetic hair and she suggested yarn, as opposed to trying to force me to get the synthetic fill hair and then being passive aggresive after I decline.(I’m referring to my last stylist, who after declining the synthetic hair several times, decided just to use my own hair-which is fine EXCEPTTHATISMORELIKELYTOCAUSEDAMAGE.) I didn’t know this and my new stylist today educated me. –I will definitely be returning. I don’t come for conversation, but it does help when the stylist is personable AND skilled! 4 stars ONLY because I had terrible time finding it. GPS says it’s in the lot across the street, she’s actually in the Raley’s lot. She gets 5 stars for her work, her manners and her professionalism!

I’ve been coming here off and on for 3+ years and they always do excellent work. Highly recommend for braids or twists.

I wouldn’t even give this place 1 star they charged me $ 120 to braid my daughter’s hair and I had an appointment at 3:30 and didn’t get done til 6:45 they were suppose to cut my daughter’s hair but they didn’t all they did was braid it and not in any special way either so I suggest you don’t go here especially when I go to a shop in the south and they do it for $ 40 just ridiculous!

Very unprofessional & rude. I wouldn’t recommend this shop to my worst enemy. One star because I’m forced to give at least one.

Beautiful braiding. Brought my daughter in for Senegalese twists. They turned out beautiful and the price included the hair which was nice. I was told that it would take 6 hours. It ended up being longer but I think the quality is unmatched. My daughter has gotten braids at least 3 other times in Omaha Nebraska where we are from and they have never turned out so good. I do subscribe to the thinking that quality may take extra time. My daughter got her hair done by the owners sister but both Shelah and her sister where very knowledgable and personable.

I have been going to Steph since before she opened a shop. She does a beautiful job with singles and her braids stay neat for a really long time. Her prices are reasonable too! Try her out, you will not be disappointed!

I don’t know about you, but I am picky about my hair!!! I thought I found my braider here in Sacramento until the last set of $ 200 singles I got were HUGE in the back, and small in the front(where they do that at)? I’m not gonna put that sistas shop out there like that, but this is what lead me to shelah hair salon. The outside of the shop is interesting however I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The ladies were very nice and the work is excellent!!! Oh did I mention the prices are very reasonable… I have VERY thick natural hair and I was able to get micros for $ 175! Kinky twists are $ 120(I’m getting those next). Why have a stranger come to your home or go to someone’s living room or garage salon, when you can go to an actual salon, get an excellent service and at a great price. Very happy customer :)
