Ryan was the best bartender/server we had after some girls just ignore us at the bar! It turned out to be a great night ! Thanks Ryan! This was May 20, 2016. Five stars to RYAN! Today 6÷21÷16, a month later, I took my husband to celebrate Post Fathers Day dinner, we decided to go to the bar first & had a bad experience. The lady with the pony tail didn’t acknowledge our presence at all, a guy came by our area not acknowledging us as well until I asked for a menu. Without saying hi or a smile, handed us a menu but noticed the couple who came in after us he took their orders. Well, that was that, & we decided to just get a table because it’s obvious, we were not gonna get any service at all at the bar. I highly suggest that the management get these bartenders some customer service training! Saying hello & a smile goes a long way peeps! Thanks to Nick who was great attending to us with our orders at our table. I give u stars! Zero for the bar!!! Will be talking to my friends and families about our experiences.

This is one of those restaurants where you can tell the powers that be go out of their way to train the staff well. I love the service that I get when I come here to eat, and although I’m not a seafood lover, I love their burgers and breakfast. I’ve yet to have eaten anything here that was not at least good and sometimes great. An since it is not a chain restaurant, I can see the difference in coming to this location compared to going to one of the other locations. The difference in service was night and day. This review is for when I went the beginning of February 2016.

Ate there last night and it was awesome as usual. Though the Warriors lost Scott’s won with the help of our servers last night Ben and David! Both of these gentlemen provided phenomenal service and we’re super attentive — in the good way. I’m even going to watch a new show per Ben’s suggestion, way above and beyond. David even came out to the patio to check in on us… A+++ We ordered the Seafood Tower, Bay Scallops and Prawn Risotto, and the Scallops Entrée. Soooooo delicious and fresh. We were in a food coma for the rest of the night. Only suggestion I can give is to setup citronella candles or plant some for the summer mosquitoes on that gorgeous patio. Thanks for having great service folks like Ben and David and I can’t wait for my next visit.

Lousy service. Sat at a dirty bar for nearly 10 minutes prior to bartender cleaning up or noticing four new bodies were now occupying stools. We each ordered a drink and three appetizers. Food was good but between the poor service and outdated 1980’s interiors we chose to cancel our reservation and go elsewhere. This place needs a restaurant consultant to gut the place, get the silly sea shells off the walls and hire some new help.

Celebrated my Mother’s birthday here for dinner. A beautiful restaurant located next to the Sacramento River provides an amazing backdrop. I had the Spicy Crab Bisque to start. Just the right amount of spice you could really taste the crab and potato(I think) l couldn’t taste any cream in it. Main course I had the Fillet Minion and Grilled Prawns with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh string beans. The fillet was so tender you can cut it with a butter knife, and the reduction sauce… omg. You can really taste the nutty flavor of the roasted garlic in the mashed potatoes. The string beans were so fresh they were probably picked this morning. Since it was my Mother’s birthday they gave us the Desert Trio complimentary, which we shared. The Trio had crème bulee, ice cream with a berry sauce and a chocolate? something… but that desert was to die for! I would return here just for the Desert Trio. Oh yeah… I got a 20% discount for checking in on Unilocal.Sweet! Unilocaling has its perks!

Location, location, location. Met up with Unilocalette Lucy M. here for happy hour. Ordered some calamari, salmon sliders and pesto fries… probably more. The seating was pretty nice… felt a tad underdressed, but I got over that fairly quickly. Nice big bar for socializing or sit at a table for a not-so-public interaction. Wifi available for those who want it. Sweet if you want to apply for a job/look through job postings at a happy hour… Sunset was lovely. I’d come back if invited… for happy hour. Not sure about other times though.

I expected so much of this place having been to other Scotts Seafood here in Sacramento. I had the Chicken glazed with some sauce, but even drowning the chicken with the sauce, it tasted a little bland. I give it 3 stars since it was tender and appeared cooked evenly. But I’m not sure if this is my favorite Scott’s. I enjoyed the one in Folsom way more. Make sure you check in on Unilocal so you can get the 20% coupon.

Great service, great food, great location(for lack of a better word)! The feature may or may not still be available, but a check-in here on Unilocal gets you 20% off your entire order which was, also, great! The only noticeable issue is limited parking, and may be more so on busy days or when special events are being hosted. I don’t think I saw any handicap stalls either, so just be aware. The weather was beautiful so we requested and were happily given outside seating. The patio is beautifully furnished, equipped with a few free-standing fireplaces, and adjacent to the Sacramento River. It was very scenic, which was even more so confirmed by a beautiful wedding taking place next to us as we were eating! Their dinner menu begins at 3:30, but we opted for the brunch menu which had a ton of selection. We chose the shrimp cocktail, fried prawns, and calamari for appetizers. Entrees is where it gets a little pricey: $ 17 for a shrimp and crab melt that definitely could have been a little bigger, but was compensated for with a side of must-have sweet potato fries. Also, save room for dessert: chocolate torte, crème brûlée, cheesecake, and – oh my gosh – Kahlua gelato(their seasonal flavor right now!) Our waitress and other servers had us laughing; they were super personable and were ready to serve us more of their fresh, sourdough bread after we had asked two or three times for more. Guilty! If you’re having one of those days where you just can’t decide where to eat(like we did) and I f price isn’t an issue for you, I definitely recommend trying this place out!

Came back here for my birthday dinner. Disappointment. It wasn’t busy but the service wasn’t good. Not even for happy hour. The waitress will tell us she will be right back but she doesn’t come back so we had to wave her down a few times. The reservation I had for dinner was at 630 and we still had to wait 30 mins for them to set up to table. Not sure why when they should’ve had it ready for us. We sat down and asked for 2 kids menu for the kids. One waitress said she will get it but doesn’t come back. We asked the next waitress and she comes back with out water but no kids menu. Then we asked again and finally after awhile the manager comes by to drop off the menu but doesn’t say a word. We waited about 45 mins to get our food and the pastas were watery and the steak was really dry. The broccoli cheddar tasted horrible and grainy like they just blended everything together. I really liked my first impression of this place but not after this experience. The extra star is for the free champagne and pesto fries.

Scott’s is one of our favorite restaurants in Sacramento. We especially like to go here for special dinners — romantic, anniversaries, birthdays, or when we want to feel like we’re getting away but we’re still close to home. The food is always on point. The service is always top notch. The drinks are perfectly concocted. The view is always beautiful and peaceful. I recommend this restaurant whole heartedly. It might be a little expensive for some. We spent $ 150 for two the other night. But we did get two appetizers, one drink and a dessert — plus two entrees — and one of them was lobster tail. So I think that was a fair price. Next special occasion — go to Scott’s! But make reservations!

Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet Review For $ 40 and once a year, this Scott’s location hosts a Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet that pays tribute to anyone who has had a parenting role or anyone who just wants to partake in some kind of wonderful. I normally take my mum to the Hyatt buffet since I found their menu selections intriguing and creative but after a nearly $ 20 increase to that of $ 65, I was persuaded to go for a lesser option. Overall, I was somewhat impressed with a local establishment offering fine dining to the patrons/residents of this area. They are situated right on the bank of the Sacramento River and if the weather perfect, outdoor seating that overlooks the water. Parking is a little tight here so be prepared for valet services if you are unable to locate a parking spot. The hosts at the check in desk were friendly and quick. We were early by 15 minutes but seated in ten minutes. The buffet was setup on the other side of the bar in a U-shaped formation with hot foods selection on the inside and the lesser salads, fruits, and breads selection on the outside. They had a good selection of items, ranging from the typical breads, cheese, charcuterie platters that then expanded to tradition seafood such as mussels, oysters, and shrimp. Bacon, sausage, and lox/bagel stations then bordered the dessert table. The inside hot carving station offered prime rib and lamb, as well as eggs benedict, pancakes, and their infamous crème brulee bread pudding. While I found their selection a little boring(the Hyatt menu was a bit more creative with their seafood/appetizer/dessert selection) their high marks go to their prime rib. It was amazingly tender and richly marbled, plus the pepper encrusted slightly burnt fat layer was the perfect layer of stratification. I went in for two huge slices, the carver seemed amused. Everything else was good but I feel typical that of any buffet. I have heard that their Happy Hour menu is quite good, so I do recommend others to give it a try in addition to their fine dining menu during regular open hours. Service was prompt so kudos to the wait staff for attending to the hordes of families and groups on this busy day.

I had a reservation for 830pm last night. Showed up at 810 with my date. We were told there were no tables available and we could drink at the bar. I responded I do not drink and then was told to wait until 830 for a table. The restaurant looked to be at about 20% capacity and was very quiet. I then walked away with my date, she was very upset and now wanted to leave. We did.

Parking is a nightmare. Very limited parking due to the fact that it is attached to a hotel. The service if rated separately would be a 3.5. My low rating is the food. This place is supposed to be high end and I read one rating where it was compared to Red Lobster; not a put down for Red Lobster, but Red Lobster is more of a fast food chain and I agree. Scotts is overpriced, portions small and this is definitely not high end. The décor is nice and gives the impression that you are in s classy restaurant, until you taste the food. I had the swordfish and coconut prawns. The piece of fish was around 2 inches by 2 inches, slightly over cooked and on the dry side. It had around 5 times the amount of rice compared to fish. The prawns were overlooked too. My wife had a pasta and prawn and the sauce was watered down. All in all, server was friendly and helpful, parking terrible, food sub par… Would definitely never come back.

Absolutely amazing service for our party of 16 by Ben. He was friendly, attentive and funny. The outside seating is over looking the water which is absolutely beautiful. There are a few fire pits outside as well. The food is tasty and they offer daily specials. They also offer a kids menu for the kiddos.

Hubby and I just had a very lovely brunch at Scott’s…I mean, it was a great brunch. I really dig Scott’s weekend brunch menu, as it is a super combo of both breakfast(french toast, pancakes, eggs benedict) and lunch(soup, salad, sandwiches) offerings. This worked out well since Hubby felt like french toast, and I felt like a salad… we both SCORED with our orders! I had the Pacific Rim salad($ 14) with the thai beef($ 6)…I will just proclaim now that this is now one of my fave salads ever, and I honestly cannot wait to have brunch(or any mealtime) at Scott’s again so I can reorder this delight. The thai beef was plenty and flavorful, along with the salad that had a great dressing and chopped macadamia nuts… LOVEDIT! And the little wonton salad«bowl» was yummy. I will mos’ def’ be ordering this item again. Hubby’s crème brûlée french toast was AMAZING! It definitely looked different from your traditional french toast, but that was not a bad thing at all. It was soooooo good! Moist and yummy and delicious, plus came with a side of sausage or bacon(bacon for the win!). Let’s just say Hubby devoured it, and could easily have had more! To top it off, you get a 20% off your order deal(not good on alcohol, so our mimosas were full price) when you check in on Unilocal… woot! And our server Anthony was awesome, being very patient in walking me thru the process of getting my 20% discout… kudos to you, sir! This was our first time here(I was waitlisted for the YEE Scott’s event a couple of months ago… boo!), but it won’t be our last. I do believe we’ve found ourselves a fave place for brunch here in Sac Town! :)

A year ago my co worker told me that she Ws going to eat at Scott’s for her 21st birthday, and when she said it was by the river, I was like done I’m going to have to try this place some day. And I finally did and it was on Valentine’s Day. It’s in the Westin hotel, so parking was very limited, wait it wasn’t limited, self parking was full, so we valet. It’s very nice. You walk in, turn right towards the double doors, walk up the little steps and you’ll see the host station. Right behind them is a huge bar. Fully equipped with whatever alcohol you want. Our reservation was at 9:45 pm so there was no river view. I was so sad. Long story short our service was great. Our food though, it was just ok. We ordered two different kinds of oysters. The baked one that comes with mango salsa and then we ordered the barbecue one. To start we ordered calamari and for the main dish i ordered the filet and shrimp. The oysters were so dry, hence the baked. The barbecue oysters were not baked but it was slightly cooked with barbecue sauce. Eh I think I’ll stick with the traditional raw oysters, you can’t go wrong. The filet and shrimp tasted like I could have gotten it anywhere really. It wasn’t worth the price. The service was great, the food was ok, but I probably wouldn’t go back anytime soon.

My friend had her birthday dinner at Scott’s seafood. It was my first time trying it. I got the seafood tower to start and I enjoyed it. It had many different types of seafood. Prawns and oysters and others. After that I went with the swordfish. It was adequate. Overall, Scott’s seafood is a once in a while when you’re out of options type of restaurant.

We were there on a busy night on Jan 27th from the Grape Symposium and this was a delicious dinner. We started with the seafood tower and it was fresh & tasty. By the way, their sourdough bread is awesome… soft and easy to pull apart. The main courses were well prepared with wonderful presentations. I got the salmon with a seafood risotto and caviar. It had great flavor, very balanced. The salmon and risotto were prepared perfectly. The other meals were well enjoyed… even my husband liked his fish & chips which had a unique batter. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was treated to dessert for my birthday which they let me pick and they gave me a bottle of bubbly(which I left! Still bummed I did that). I would totally come back here when I’m in Sacramento.

My boyfriend and I celebrate Valentine’s Day on January 27th every year. When he made our reservation online, he asked for them to pretend it was Valentine’s Day for us. We didn’t expect anything, but thought it would be fun to ask anyway. When we got there 10 minutes before our 6pm reservation, we were seated immediately. We were pleased to see that they gave us special menus that said«Happy Valentines» on the top, which was very sweet and very appreciated. We ordered drinks and got calamari for an appetizer. Having never been here, we didn’t not realize that the appetizer is HUGE. It’s size was such a surprise and it tasted amazing. I ordered the Salmon and my boyfriend ordered the Seafood Penne. The entrees took a bit to come out, which was fine, because our appetizer was huge. We just picked at it and enjoyed our drinks. The entrees came out and we were not disappointed. Both of them were incredible! Our food came out around 6:30. We ate and finished out drinks and realized that we had not seen our waitress in while. We realized that it was now 7:15 and we had not been checked on or offered boxes/check yet. Another waiter stopped and asked to box our stuff up; we assumed our waitress was caught up. She showed up a few minutes later and dropped off a dessert menu, but we were ready to leave. Because of the long wait, we decided to skip dessert and just asked for our check. We got to the car at 7:30 pm. The food was incredibly good, but the wait time between courses was a little too much. for a 100.00 dinner, I would have expected a bit more service.

It’s been a love/hate relationship with us for the last five years. We live close to to the restaurant on the river and would love to frequent this place as our happy hour/spur of the moment dinner restaurant of choice. Unfortunately, there are so many obstacles thrown in our way that prevent us from doing this. First and foremost, the food here is mediocre at best. I believe, correct me if I’m wrong, that this place has been through 3 head chefs in the last 5 years. The menu needs some serious work. This is a «seafood» restaurant with 5 seafood entrees on the menu — one of which is tilapia. Don’t even get me started on the dangers of that. The rest of the menu is an uninspired«carb» fest of items like blue cheese fries and fried calamari. Olives and crab? The price point is also totally out of line with anything close to it. $ 20 for ahi lettuce wraps??? Another obstacle that this place throws in our path is the parking. Their valet parking is available(always) and sucks up the space closest to the restaurant entrance. Why can’t restaurant patrons use the parking lot next to the restaurant and have the valet park cars in the north 40? I get that they want to gouge patrons for valet service, but forcing self-parking patrons to walk the length of a football field is unconscionable especially with a patronage that is 50 yrs + Our server was wonderful and apologetic about the current business model, but after our hike back to the car, I have to proclaim that I am done with Scott’s.

Went here for a late MLK day brunch with a friend. It was a nice day so the location along the river was nice and unique from my usual midtown stomping grounds. The waitress was friendly and mostly attentive! I got a bloody Mary and my friend a margarita — both well made cocktails and the speed with which we were at. They have a lot of sexier drinks on the menu that we opted out of but sounded pretty cool. For food we started with the calamari which wasn’t bad and a lot bigger of an app than we were prepared for. The rings weren’t rubbery and the batter fairly light, it could stand for a bit more flavor. For meals, I got the crab cake Benedict and my friend the crab and shrimp melt. The servings were again plentiful and we both could only finish half our meals! Both the meals were a little rich with the cheese on the melt and the hollandaise sauce for the Benedict but other than that both a solid brunch plate. We also used the 20% off coupon from Unilocal and that went well; I’ve had a couple restaurants be very confused when I present any Unilocal deals and it ends with a lot of server back and forth. The waitress actually had to walk me through their process but it was all seamless and easy! Overall: nice view, ambiance and good food.

Ordered the macadamia nut bass and the yogurt tilapia on the brunch menu. Wasn’t what I expected especially for the price. The food was bland, and the fish was over cooked. The orange juice was priced almost as much as my meal. The servers were very polite and even though we did not have a reservation we were seated fairly quickly. For a seafood restaurant I wouldn’t recommend the tilapia or bass here. 2 stars for the cleanliness and great staff.

Damn this place has been on my to review list since January 2011. Guess I should write one. Trying to clear out the old bookmarks… Scotts is that place that sounds like such a treat but always seems to fall below your expectations once you actually get there. I’ve eaten here numerous times and every meal has been unmemorable. The service is fine, and the outdoor seating is lovely, as is the indoor bar area. The bread basket is pretty good, I mean it’s okay I guess. And the food tastes good, not great but definitely far from inedible. It’s just… I would never go here if people didn’t drag me here. Yes, part of your bill is definitely paying for ambience as with all high end restaurants. But really, a view of the Sacramento River? It’s not exactly glamorous, and if that’s all you’re going for might as well go to Chevy’s.

Went here for brunch with a group of family. Good food, beautiful restaurant, amazing location. There’s indoor seating and a patio with outdoor seating. Didn’t really see what it was like inside since we only walked through. Sat out on the patio area. Pretty cold, but there were fireplaces and heat lamps so it was nice! I had the Crab Cake Benedict with breakfast potatoes and it was delicious. Servers and service was perfect. Overall nice restaurant since it’s off of the river.

Scott’s!!! You’re pretty damn good. My girlfriend and I went here to celebrate our 6 month anniversary and we loved every bite. They sat us on the patio with the fire pits and they greeted us with a «happy anniversary» when we first arrived. I was told that I should get the seafood tower and I was not disappointed. That bad boy had like 3 or 4 different types of oysters, calamari, crab, and some other awesome stuff. My gf ordered the prawn fettuccine and I ordered the swordfish with coconut prawns. Oh yeah! Swordfish really is the steak of the sea, baby! We were too full to order dessert, but our excellent server(I should mention that the service was excellent) gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Check this place out. Great food. Great service. Cool atmosphere.

First of all I want to start of by saying«Thank You!» to Scott’s Seafood for hosting an amazing Unilocal Elite Event. It was my first one since becoming Elite and I had a great time! This was also my first time ever at Scott’s. I had heard about it and had thrown around the idea of going for dinner but never got a chance so I jumped at the chance to attend the Unilocal Fresh Catch event. The event was held outside on their patio that overlooks the water. They had plenty of canopy’s to keep it shady although a few fans would have been nice because we were sweating due to lack of a breeze going through. The patio is beautiful and very relaxing. I definitely want to come back on a cooler afternoon to sit and enjoy a few cocktails with some friends and my husband if he’s lucky haha. There was a bar with beer, wine and a special Raspberry Unilocal Lemonade which consisted of cystron vodka, triple sec, macerated raspberries splashed with fresh squeeze lemonade. The Raspberry Unilocal Lemonade was the hit of the party, it was very good and very refreshing in the heat. For food we had a cheese platter 4 or 5 different types of cheeses, fresh fruit platter, grilled chicken skewers with a peanut dipping sauce, spinach and sun-dried tomato pastry puffs, smoked salmon bruschetta and Dungeness crabcakes. The smoke salmon bruschetta was to die for as well as the crab cakes which were bite size and super moist! I also really enjoyed the grilled chicken skewers which were cooked perfectly and the peanut dipping sauce was a perfect compliment. The service was excellent, the bartender and servers were very nice, friendly and attentive. Everyone had a smile on their face which was nice as well. I had a great time and plan on coming back to Scott’s. I also heard a rumor that you get a free bottle of wine or champagne on your birthday which I will have to test to find out if it is true. But I do know for sure that if you check in on Unilocal you get 20% off your meal and you cant beat that!

On a warm 1st day of September 2015, I decided to come to Scott’s Seafood Grill and Bar for the very first time. Located inside Westin Hotel near the American River, Scott’s Seafood delivers the seafood goodness of the ocean and beyond. As I come inside, the atmosphere is very contemporary feel with the laid-back touch filled with glass arts that surrounds inside the dining area. The outdoor patio is also an amazing place to dine there outside. However, it did blocked some of the view near the river depending if the sun sets down nightfall. The service is fantastic including bartenders too. The server, Caitlyn is such a great sweet woman. She gives good recommendations from the menu plus requesting for refilling drinks, and giving good, honest questions too. No problems or issues at all! Before I seated on the dining area, I decided to sit it on the bar for a happy hour. I ordered Scott’s Fried Calamari for a try, and so far, it tasted very good. The seasoned batter of the calamari which includes squid rings and mini octopus is crunchy and eatable as I chew it. Not a bad happy hour appetizer. Now onto the dining entrée after I reserved a table online few days ago. I ordered small clam chowder and customer’s favorite: Seafood Penne Pasta filled with steamed clams, scallops, pieces of salmon, cooked wild prawns(aka shrimps,) topped with provençal sauce and asiago-garlic toast. So far for the clam chowder, that chowder is remarkably good! I can feel the texture and the creamyness of it. Very flavorful than the BJ’s clam chowder! On the other hand, the Seafood Penne Pasta is also tasted fabulous. The proteins of seafood cooked very well for salmon pieces, shrimps, clams and scallops. The clams however, tasted closely salty for me which it has some sea salt leftovers on it. Otherwise, the steamed clams went alright for me. Finally, the provençal sauce tasted not bad at all although it’s kinda sourly for me too which the olive juices evaporates all over the sauce. The rest of the ingredients of the sauce is perfectly fine. I wish this entrée could bake it, so it might work better to lock natural flavors. Additionally, the asiago-garlic toast is outstanding! Very homemade and perfectly baked for perfection! The flavors of the garlic bread tasted top notch! What a great, satisfying meal! Parking can be scarce. You can find good self parking spaces available if it’s getting busy or not. Also, you can use the valet parking without trying to find it on your own. It costs $ 10 to park. Otherwise, you can walk, ride a bike, or use public transportation without the hassles. In the end, Scott’s Seafood Grill & Bar is the greatest, and the finest seafood restaurant in the Sacramento area! Perfect for date night, family or friends gatherings, or simply having a social happy hour after work. A well, worthy visit! P. S. If you checked this business, you can save 20% off for your check receipt! It’s worth the discount!

I visited Scotts for the first time during the Unilocal Fresh Catch event and I really liked the ambience here. Sure, the event was outdoors on the patio and we were practically melting in the summer heat, but on the plus side we were riverside and they were even kind enough to take down the shade umbrellas after the sun went down so we could enjoy the view. I can’t say much about the food, but the drinks were good and the service great! I have to say I also enjoyed the company. :) It’s a little hard to find on your own so make sure to use GPS. It is connected to the Westin. There is valet parking and limited self parking as well.

First timer! Food was surprisingly refreshing and good. This place is definitely in a random area, but it’s beautiful nonetheless. There’s a private lake right out front where people go boating. It’s a classy restaurant that would be perfect for date brunch/family meal time! I loved the presentation of my beautiful ahi salad and I reccomend it! Dressing was light and zesty, and loved the crust on my fish, very fresh too! Come here to spoil yourself and feel like a queen ;)

Scott’s Seafood is a hidden getaway and restaurant located off I-5 freeway, tucked inside a Westin Hotel and low lying along the river. So it can easily be overlooked if you aren’t looking for it. The service is friendly and prompt. The dining area is large, both indoors and outdoors. We ordered the Crusted Macadamia Halibut and the Prawn fettuccine. The halibut was cooked to perfection. Sometimes halibut can be a bit dry, but this one remained flaky and flavorful. The julienned carrots and string beans added color and your daily dose of good veggies. At first bite the prawn fettuccine seemed bland. However as the ingredients melded it became more flavorful with each bite. Surprisingly, this pasta dish didn’t feel too heavy either. Our fried calamari appetizer was fresh, no chewy calamari here! My only complaint was it was a little salty for my taste buds. Our server David was a sweetie. Although he left me a full carafe of coffee, he came by frequently to fill my cup himself. The trio dessert is the best bet, rather than ordering a single dessert. This way if you’re sharing, a bite of each dessert sample is sure to satisfy any spectrum of a sweet tooth. Finally, check-in on Unilocal!and get a 20% discount from your check! Can’t beat that… Then take a walk along the river to digest your meal.

I have been to Scott’s for happy hour many times but this is my first review. I came here for my birthday happy hour and was glad to be able to find seats, normally the bar area is very packed and it’s hard to find a table. Our table was small for 4 people, but we made it work. Overall the happy hour was great, they added more choices for Happy hour, best of all the oysters. It’s hard to find a good oysters place with reasonable prices in Sacramento. For my birthday they have free dessert. Overall a good experience. Even through the happy hour goes to 7:00pm, come early to find a table that will fit everyone in your party.

My friend brought me here to enjoy a Saturday brunch(before Easter) on the water. Unfortunately, seating outside was a wait, but we did get an indoor window table overlooking the water, which was nice. We got some nice sourdough bread(warm!) with butter to start. Yum. There wasn’t much to choose from for me, since I am anti-seafood, but I got the bread pudding french toast with bacon, and it was fabulous. It’s actually just straight up bread pudding, and it was very moist and delicious. The bacon was nice and crispy. My friend had the crabcake benedict and very much enjoyed it. She even shared some of her breakfast potatoes with me. Kind of weirdly located next to a hotel, but it is kind of tucked away from the main streets, which adds some charm.

Tonight’s finally confirmed my reason why I never dined at this restaurant. :(! I was really hoping tonight’s experience will be better than the last time.(2006) Food– wow! my friends and I were very disappointed with our dishes. The three of us ordered the mussels risotto dishes. The risotto were still uncooked and tasted bland. The mussels tasted old and smelled fishy. The rest of the dishes were ok. However the service was superb! Our waitress was super friendly and nice. We told her about our food and her responds was kind and understanding. She took back the food and didn’t charge us for the 3 dishes. The manager came out and apologized to us. Overall 2 stars for the great service and for the relaxing ambiance. I heard great things about their brunch. Maybe I’ll give this place another shot and try out their brunch menu.
