SACRT Light Rail – 13th Street Station

The 13^th Street Station is pretty much the same as the next stop, 16^th Street Station so my thoughts are the same. Three stars for the location. The stop itself is no frills. Not a fan of the tracks that Light Rail uses as they are on the same level as the walkway. There is a higher chance of an accident here for people not paying attention where they are standing while an incoming train comes through.
The location of this station is convenient as R Street which is a block away is a great destination for Sacramento dining as many of the top restaurants are situated there. This station doesn’t have much coverage. There is a little cover on the westbound side of the station, but the train ramp for handicapped passengers is the only covered area on the eastern side.
The area around the station can be a bit sketchy, particularly at night. But that seemed to be the case for most of the stops in the downtown Sacramento area. Be careful and aware of your surroundings while you wait for a train at this station.
