The Riverfront Promenade is a bike/walk/run path that lines the Sacramento River near the Tower Bridge. I found myself walking and exploring this path each day. I enjoyed it so much, I needed to create a listing to let you Unilocalers know. I would start off walking from the Bridge, there are several historical plaques along the way to read about the history of the Sacramento Riverfront. The area was once filled with Manufacturing plants and railways. The trains would import and export goods throughout the state. I walked about 2 miles down the Riverfront Promenade when I discovered the old Ghost Trains. I am not talking about the Railway Museum, I am talking about Rusty Old Steam Trains sitting out in the middle of the track. So I hopped aboard! As exciting as it was to be on the train, thinking of how things once were — it wasn’t budging. There are several benches, chairs and places to sit down and grab some sun. I sat there for hours, not saying one single word to anyone, enjoying my day and relaxing. It’s an excellent place to ride your bike, walk or run. The weather is pleasant and the views are beautiful. Now that you know about this place, get outside and have some fun.
