Every time I walk in, it takes a lot of internal convincing to go home again. Tim and Linda Arbogast have impeccable taste and have managed to design their storefront to perfectly represent their design work: modern, comfortable, classic, with a touch of whimsy. They even think to stock items us commoners can afford. Though saving up to have them design a room for me is on my Life To-Do list. Buy someone a gift from there — they’ll love you forever.

I love, love, love this place. I’m sad that parking isn’t a little more accessible, but it is so worth it. This is a store that is worthy of being in a hip SF or NYC neighborhood. They have my fav brands like Dwell and Jonathan Adler and mix it up with other cool things. Some of the stuff is spendy, but there are plenty of things to buy under $ 30. Lots of super cool and reasonably priced things to buy as gifts that will make your friends think you are a hip big spender.

You know how some women get depressed about their bodies when they look through magazines with skinny airbrushed supermodels? That is the feeling I get when I look through home design magazines and when I visit Jett Modern, knowing that I am stuck with the same cat shredded couch and cat themed blanket that I received as a gift a few years ago. I love how the shop combines bits of natural items like plants, wood, and animal hides with modern design without making it cluttered and gaudy. They have neat things like white china mushrooms, deer head sculptures carved out of wood, home scents, as well as serving plates, linens, tables, and cards. They do not have blankets with cats on them. This is how I imagine my house would look if I had some extra money, a housekeeper, and no cats.
