This ship is so cool! I stopped in here for a Kendama and knowing very little about the collectables. The person working was very friendly and we got into a discussion about the store and I actually learned a lot! I’m glad I stopped by and I look forward to going back in the future

This is a sports card store in its entirety. If you happen to walk out with a comic or other«collectable» let me know what dusty corner you found it in! This shop is over priced but very knowledgeable and helpful in the sports memorabilia world. If you are looking for an honest appraisal or just have a question about that Mcquire card this is the place to go. If you are looking for any sort of selection or deals when it comes to games or comics head down to BBC!

I visited the shop on Saturday, January 4, 2014, and found a very spacious store with knowledgeable staff, competitive prices, and an overall wonderful experience. Michael, the owner, and I spoke for about an hour on all topics related to sports(from collectibles to HOF to impact of free agency and salary caps), and I found that he was extremely helpful. The prices for baseball cards and other sports cards products are on par or better than any online retailer, and there is a wide selection of singles for all sports. There is not an overstock of older product, and the newer product is readily available. Lots of comics, TCG products, and kendamas. I am not involved with those hobbies, so I can’t comment on the selection, etc. I have visited the other sports card shops in Sacramento several times and have determined that, overall, HR Sports Cards & Collectibles provides the best experience. I look forward to going back!

I’ve looked all over for MLS cards. H R Sports Cards carries them. The service was friendly and educational. I’m new to collecting, so the staff answered many of my questions regarding the hobby. The prices were comparable to what I’ve found online. I’ll visit again soon.

Not the best, sadly. The guy has a very large space, and has a surprising amount of older product for baseball and football cards, but the reason WHY he has older product becomes evident very quickly: the prices are out of hand. For example, an older football product that can easily be purchased online for around $ 30 – 50 for a sealed box is over $ 100 here. Newer product is available for right about the right price, but it doesn’t seem to get restocked often. If you miss it, you just miss it. General supplies don’t seem to be readily available either. It was about 50⁄50 for supplies that I’ve seen at about every other hobby shop. They had penny sleeves, but no thick toploaders. Skinny toploaders, but no thick sleeves. Snap-tite cases, but no 50 – 100 count plastic cases. A good inventory and pricing system would do wonders for this store.

They can fill almost any order for Sport Memorabilia needs. These guys are clutch. I’ve purchased many things from them as an hobbyist, collector and buyer for Franchise called«Field of Dreams.» Just because you don’t see your item in the shop, doesn’t mean they can obtain a special request. Thanks HRSPORTSCARDS and COLLECTIBLES!!!

Went in the other day to try and get some packs of baseball cards. The guy is charging $ 2.99 for packs that normally sell for $ 1.99, and $ 4.49 for packs that normally go for $ 2.99. Maybe if the store was nicer and had some obvious overhead costs I could MAYBE understand pricing the cards a little bit higher than MSRP, but 50% over when the place looks like it does ain’t gonna happen. This guy must make most of his money on Pokemon and MTG cards, because I can’t imagine that he sells that many baseball cards. Don’t waste your time.

HR is initially a sportscards shop during the 90’s but they have gradually started carrying other collectibles to diversify such as pogs(when it was hot), collectible gaming cards(Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Magic the Gathering, etc), Beanie babies, Bobblehead dolls, Kings tickets and comics. I have a comic saver subscription out of convenience because the shop is near me. The comic selection is very limited and sometimes my comic saver pulls can be flakey but they make it up by including comic bags for every book purchase during Monday through Thursday. If you do have to special order something or update your comic saver pull list, make sure you write down your request otherwise, the person who is in charge of comics will forget. It has been years since have since been out of the sportscards hobby, but I still see the prices of unopened packs and boxes are pretty competitive. They treat their customers fair because when they mix the packs before they put them out for sale and they do not allow people to search or weigh the packs in order to be fair to the rest of the customers have an equal chance of pulling a special insert/autographed/memorbilia card. Overall, it’s a small shop that tries to be a one-stop collectible hobby shop but I think they are spread out too thinly. I have to say that their forte continues to be the sportscards and collectible gaming cards with packs, boxes and individual cards. The other negative is since the place is small, there are some shelves that are difficult to access because they are blocked off because they have tables, display cases and stacks of boxes placed on the floor.
