They have an excellent gyro wrap! I don’t like tzatziki sauce in general but they do exchange it with their Hummas which is amazing!

Very very very poor schedule for those who can come on weekends. Worse idea ever to not serve on weekends. Very sad

Always great for a quick lunch. The buffet is decent for the price and I can’t say that’s the best thing to go there for. Very good selection of food for the Heath cautious population. Highly recommend the wraps personal favorite is the Chicken cesar wrap. I have never tried the salad bowls they seem to be a big hit.

Today our family went there for lunch, as a local shopkeeper friend had recommended it upon learning that we like that kind of food. I had the buffet and thought it very reasonable for the variety and quality of dishes which have been described a number of times. I also tried my son’s chicken kabob, also really good. My grandson woofed down the chicken sandwich he had, a sure sign that it was good too. The dolmas were hot, and I prefer them cold and soaked in lemon, but the dips were really good and I’ll be recommending it for my friends that like this kind of food and will go back when near the capitol.

I think the only way to respond to a suggestion to dine at Crest is, «Yeah, that’s fine.» Crest is centrally located, close to the Capitol and many state Departments. It’s very affordable, the food is pretty tasty, and a hugely popular meeting spot for lunch. I think one of the biggest draws for the group-lunch-crowd is the sheer variety of options. Vegetarian and Meatatarian, a buffet, small plates of appetizers/snacks, gyros and pitas, and full plates of heaping food. There are even greasy(read: delicious) Americanized options to please the junk food crowd, including Mediterranean Nachos and Feta Fries. There is sure to be something to please everyone! I am always content to go to Crest, but I can’t rank it higher because I just don’t LOVE it. The food is pretty good, but not great. The schwarma is always disappointing and swimming in sauce :(The staff is fine, but make mistakes. It’s very clean, sunny and bright, but usually super busy.

This food is awesome. The green sauce and french fries are to die for. They use real Gyro meat not that fake crap. This is ledgit!!! Definately in my top 5 Sac-town grubs! Moving here from SD it’s been hard to find good spots, this hits the spot for Lunch, and/or Dinner!!!

I have only tried their chicken wraps and its really good. Its filling and the green sauce tastes great with it. Their chicken wraps are made from scratch but the wait takes forever and is served cold. If it was served hot or warm at least then it woulda been perfect. Its also pricey just for a wrap

Love, love, love Crest! Now let me start I have only ever gotten as far as three dishes because they are amazing and hard to deviate from when you are jonesing for something specific. Chicken Kabob, plate or wrap. #1 all time favorite. AMAZING. How could you go wrong with marinated and grilled to order chicken chunks. Whether served in a wrap grilled with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and garlic sauce or over a bed of rice with salad, just hits all the right spots. Mediterranean Nachos — yummy goodness. Fried pitas with their chicken shwarma(I believe it is curry based) topped with feta and tomatoes. Mediterranean lunch box — chicken shwarma on rice with salad on top and garlic sauce, a little spicy for your taste bud’s pleasure :) Let me also say I would basically eat cardboard if this eatery seasoned it and served it with their garlic sauce. It’s magic! Every visit has included friendly service, fresh and delicious food. Each time I leave I already have my next visit in mind!

Great for a quick bite if you’re going to Crest Café. Walk up and order, they call out your number. They have delicious«Mediterranean» food. My husband got the Kofta Kabob(which is a yummy seasoned ground beef) and he had rice and salad with Pita and Tzatziki sauce… I had the salad with hummus and pita bread. Filling and yummy… If you’re looking for something tasty and relatively healthy, this would be a great place for you.

For a weekday lunch, this place is great. Fast and affordable. It gets very crowded around noon. What I love about this place is how fresh it tastes. The salads are huge with great-looking lettuce and toppings. No brown or wilt-y lettuce pieces at all. The falafel pita and Gyro pita sandwiches are super yummy and filling for less than $ 8! The garlic sauce and the Taziki sauce are both really tasty. To-go orders are fast and I love bringing it back to the office for lunch at my desk. Highly recommend this place!

Worst chicken sharama wrap I’ve ever had in my life! Curry chicken doesn’t seem very Mediterranean to me and tasted really bad. Chicken was dry and they did not have pickled turnips???

Chicken kebab plate is solid size and comes with high quality fresh foods. Grilled chicken cubes, fresh salad, pita bread, and some really good garlic and chutney sauces. I will be back. PS — their«nachos,» aka fries covered with garlic sauce and other items, are incredible if you are not concerned at all about eating healthy.

We had crest café cater for a family event and OMG they did a phenomenal job!!! I can’t thank them enough for the wonderful service and delicious food they made for us. My family and I are really picky when it comes to food and hiring caters because we are in the wedding & event industry and have seen the best and worst. I can’t say enough about how professional, clean, and tasty they made the food. I knew from the beginning that Crest Café would do a wonderful job, but the day-of they just EXCEEDEDOUREXPECTATIONS!!! Let these wonderful professionals cater your next event, and you will not regret it! Just tell them your priority and let them handle the rest because that is their expertise so let them be creative with the menu! That is exactly what we did and we couldn’t be any happier with the results! We LOVED everything! People still talk about the great food and delicious appetizers you all made! Thank you so much again!!!

I go here about every 3 weeks for an affordable, healthy, and delicious lunch. I’ve had the chicken sumac, eggplant, gyro, and falafel. All these are offered as wraps, which are good, but the pitas are even better. The pitas don’t seem to be made in house, but when they are that good I don’t really care where they come from, just don’t change vendors! And if they are made in house, nicely done! Probably the best pita bread I’ve ever had. The staff is friendly and work very quickly, even with as crowded as it gets during a work week lunch hour. The food is consistently good and friendly to vegetarians, too. I would rather get something from here than anywhere else on K St.

Took about 15 minutes to get our food. Seemed sort of long since the place was empty. Got the beef kabob with a salad. What’s with things on sticks not coming on sticks anymore? Weird. The salad had a bit too much oil on it for my liking but was tasty. The beef was a bit salty and could have been seasoned better. A bit tough too but not too bad. Also ordered the Mediterranean fries with everything on the side. Yummy.

The Crest Café is just OK. After visiting this busy place during lunch a few times my thoughts are; they have some good flavors but customer service and the size of the dishes are hit or miss. A month ago I was doing the«no carb» diet pretty hard so my treat to myself was a wrap at the Crest. I ran on over dreaming of the large wonderful looking wraps I had seen on Unilocal but when I opened my box I was pretty disappointed and was able to consume the whole thing! I saw Clay’s picture, I read his review.. .why was I able to eat the whole thing, and it is very unlike me to finish my meals.. .ARGH! I will say the Garlic chicken was pretty tasty and moist. Onto today’s visit, back to doing no carbs I settled on the Crest Greek Salad with added garlic chicken. Maybe I should begin opening the boxes at the restaurant but they gave me one salad dressing which was not even full. This was not a big dressing container, this was the small 1 oz. container.. .so basically they gave me an half of oz. of dressing. The salad was good but I had to grab some Cesar I already had in the fridge at work to dress it. Will I go back? Maybe.. .but with some detailed instructions on how to make my food. Cheers!

I went here tonight for an affordable quick bite to eat. Although I sat in, quick it was! My food was delivered to me within a matter of 5 minutes. With that being said, they were about an hour from closing and only one other group of people were there. The place itself is in a neat location. Located on k street alley right across from the dive bar and pizza Rock, there’s always a diverse crowd. Inside looked clean, yet there were a couple of flies that kept buzzing around and wouldn’t let me eat my food without being bothered. Also, I noticed that the employees closed 30 mins before they were supposed to. What’s with that? BUT with that aside, the food I had was really good! Tasted super fresh and hit the spot. With my experience, I rate this place a 3.5.

Crest Café is a well-priced and tasty lunch spot conveniently located to the Capitol. No beer or wine, just delicious and healthy options at a reasonable price. The Crest Greek salad is my new go-to lunch: a generous heap of lettuce(romaine, not iceberg, thankyouverymuch), a few thinly sliced cucumbers and tomatoes, a sprinkling of feta cheese crumbles and a light and tangy vinaigrette. Add garlic chicken or gyro meat and your total is just under $ 11, which is pretty good for the neighborhood, and it’s usually enough to send me into a minor food coma afterwards(um, no small feat for a mere salad!) Please note, I’m kind of a super salad snob, so finding a place with a housemade dressing that doesn’t use mayo or corn syrup to thicken it = major happy salad dance. The garlic chicken is also well-seasoned and the portion is more than satisfying. The lamb gyro on their pillowy soft pita bread = a perfect meaty-crunchy-chewy lunch that won’t bust your gut or your wallet. Crest Café has a nice combo of Mediterranean fare like dolmathes, falafel, and babaganoush, mixed in with some Americanized faves: if you’re not in the mood to be healthy, the Mediterranean fries are seriously to die for, topped with gobs of feta cheese and smothered with creamy tzaziki dressing. Straight up hangover fare. In terms of how this place compares to the other Greek spot downtown: it doesn’t have the hip factor, but I would argue that Crest’s food is better than Petra(do NOT get me started on how shady I think it is to add fries to a gyro, that is just a ploy to give me less meat!) Crest’s interior is more like a cafeteria space, roomy with tiled floors and fluorescent lighting, although on a temperate day the partially-shaded patio is a small slice of serenity next to the clamor of lightrail and K Street bums. It could maybe benefit from some sprucing up, but as long as the prices stay low I’m not complaining.

I’m always iffy about Mediterranean food but this place does it right. For lunch the have a buffet but only one chicken dish among all the other dishes. I ordered a gyro in a wrap and it was über yummy and light, it was a great suggestion from the workers there to put it on a wrap and not the pita. It was like a salad wrap. Very light and flavorful. I will definitely be back there in the future and may try out the buffet next time.
