Community Tap and Table is an amazing experience! Great for the foodie, the beer lover, or those that just like a great evening out. Emily and Darin have been catering special events for us for the past several years and we’ve enjoyed each unique meal created by T&T.. . imaginative, fun and delicious!

Tap and Table is the best interactive cooking & drinking event that I have ever been to!
I recently had the pleasure of partaking in the exclusive 12-​Beers of Christmas food and beer pairing. If you are privileged to take part in any Tap and Table event, you will be welcomed into the home of Emily and Darin. Their house is perfect for hosting, very welcoming and comfortable, yet fully equipped with everything that you may need to cook a gourmet meal.
Emily has worked in the culinary industry for years and her counterpart Darin, has mastered the art of beer through his years of experience in the industry. A perfect compliment to each other. Great people!
What exactly is 12-​Beers of Christmas you ask… 12 courses AND 12 beers to compliment each course! Yes, I said twelve… we’ll get to all of that amazing goodness…
The cool thing about the experience is that you can be as involved with the cooking experience as you feel comfortable. You can be in the center of the dance floor or you can be a wall flower. Although, you know what happens after a few cocktails, right? We all think we’re great dancers! No need to worry, Emily is right there with you every step of the way.

It’s really quite different from any other cooking class that I’ve been to. There is NO stress, just fun. Emily and Darin do nearly all of the prep work, all that is left to do is cook, drink and enjoy. Lucky us!
I can tell you that no one left hungry or thirsty!
We started the night with roasted chestnuts, which I had never had… they were delicious. We went on to have tarragon and lettuce soup (another first), again… wow! We indulged in latkes with smoked trout and caviar, we the most delicious sweet and spicy fried chicken that I have EVER had, we had an amazing Ruben sandwich, some seriously delicious roasted mushrooms with pomegranate sauce, and an array of amazing cheese… and this is only a few of the courses we devoured!
If you can believe it, we had a perfectly paired beer with each and every course. A perfectly orchestrated event! I love me some Monkey Knife Fight! Well done, Darin!
The night was filled with wonderful food and drink, and some really fascinating people. I absolutely loved Emily, Darin, Kaylie, AJ, and the rest of the group. I haven’t stopped bragging since. I’m ready for the next event!!!

Emily and Darin are awesome. Create a great environment to learn, socialize and savor. Their kitchen is awesome and so are they. I am definitely going to partake in another one of their events.
PS, if you love beer, then you need to get with Darin. I’ve never met someone so knowledgeable about beer!

Participated in one of their beer and cooking classes with my fiancé. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. Darin and Emily rule. Great hospitality, great group of people. The food was prepared by amateur and novice chefs (us guests) with the help of Emily, who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the «slow food movement.» And surprisingly … the food came out absolutely fantastic. The beer portion and beer pairing was done by Darin who has years of experience with beer and the beer industry. Looking for something new to do one night? Sign up for one of these classes. You won’t be disappointed … neither will your belly.

What a fun and different night out! The food was terrific and it was fun to participate in the cooking and nibbling of bacon dishes. We had bacon jam… and it was fantastic and so was the other fare. And although I am not a huge beer drinker the beer was terrific and I know so much more about beer than before. And as other reviewed have said Emily and Darin were awesome and very welcoming.

I’m currently a server/​bartender at Ruths’ Chris Steakhouse in Anaheim and have over 10 years of Restaurant Management experience. I can tell you that anything Community and Table does = a class act all the way around. I took a flight from LAX to SAC for the Beer and Bacon pairing class as soon as I found out about it. It was amazing, as a group we learned how to smoke pork belly at home in your own oven. But the best part was how knowledgeable Emily and Darin were. They did it while making you feel at home with great music and a group learning experience. I had such a good time; I bought my girlfriend and I the Beer and Chocolate pairing class for Christmas and flew back up. Once again, over the top experience. I tell everyone I know about Community Tap and table!!! You will not be disappointed and I guarantee you will learn something new.

Amazing food, fantastic beer but the best part are the people!

I took my dad to Community Tap and Table for his birthday and it was SO much fun. The other customers were fun, nice and the foot was delicious! It was a great bargain for such an entertaining night out. Em and Darin are so sweet and fun. I can’t recommend this enough for a different kind of night out in Sacramento.

Got a group of friends together to celebrate a birthday and went to Em and Darin’s house for a private party/​beer and bacon pairing. The food and beer pairings are matched only by their laid back and welcoming demeanor. We all felt like we had made a couple new friends by the time we left… I get the feeling that everybody leaves feeling that way. They even dropped off our pork belly at my house a week later because we live close to each other. If you love beer, food, cool people or any combination of the three, then give this a shot. Am definitely glad we have something like this in Sac.

My friends and I enjoyed a delightful culinary experience. The Brew Angels Home Brew Club brought their home brew, which Community Tap and Table paired with the dishes we prepared. The pairing of food with beer was well done — an experience I highly recommend!

I LOVE tap & table! I have taken a few classes, I always learn something new. It’s so much fun to make a meal with strangers, pair it with beer, eat and drink and leave with new friends. Em & Darin are wonderful host, they make you feel very welcome in their home, by the end of the night your grabbing beers out of the fridge as if you live there.

Absolutely a great experience! Have a blast making new and exciting dishes with the rest of the group… socialize with new friends over the dinner you all just prepared… and pair awesome beers with each course! Delicious, educational, and all around FUN! :)

I never would have thought I’d find culinary delights like Community Tap & Table so close to home. Emily and Darin make cooking and beer pairing fun and approachable for everyone! Novices to experts easily fit in. I love the hands on concept of the club. It was the cooking aspect that originally attracted me, I figured I’d take or leave the beer part. However, after my first experience with Tap & Table gained a whole new appreciation for beer. Their expert pairings enhance the flavors of each course turning your meal into an exciting journey! I fall in love with every meal we make and every beer we taste!
I highly recommend this to anyone who is even remotely interested in cooking or eating. Grab a friend or two and make a date of it. Even if you THINK you don’t like beer, you may be surprised by what you LOVE at Tap & Table! And if you already love beer, well this one’s a no brainer! Great beer, great food, and great people… it doesn’t get better than that!!!

The class I attended was very informative, not only did I learn how to prepare artichokes a new way, I learned how to correctly pair a beer with an item of food. Grilling artichokes with garlic butter, with a mayo/​sesame oil dipping sauce was delicious!
$ 40 may sound like a lot for a cooking class, but with the amount of food and with great tasting beers that are provided; I considered that a bargain!
