Gas is fine but NEVERUSETHEIRCARWASH. I ran a typical Honda Civic through a premium wash and when it was time to go through the dryer it blew a ton of SOAP that hadn’t rinsed off all over the car! I had to find a manual car wash to rinse it off with water. It was such a mess. I’m sure the rest of the gas station is fine, but that car wash is an absolute waste of money. I don’t expect gas station car washes to be extraordinary, but at least rinse the soap off.

This location has a Burger King attached to the gas station. They also have a car wash attached in the back of this location. There is a shared bathroom for both Burger King and chevron. And this gas station sells beers. This chevron is by far the cheapest chevron gas prices I’ve seen, maybe it’s because it’s in the outskirts of watt where there is not really much. Fruitridge and watt. Whenever I need a pump from chevron I come here, especially when I drive by here periodically for nursing school in the south area of Sacramento. The bathrooms here are clean. They have a bathroom for both sexes. This location accepts cash and they also accept card payments. You can pay for the car wash inside, and grab some of the hot food that this place has ready while pumping gas.

While I have never been inside this Chevron building as yet, the exterior looks clean and well maintained. I have visited this station on several occasions during my trips back and forth to see my parents. The location is convenient and appears to be a safe place to stop for gas. Prices are competitive with most major gas stations and sometimes a few cents cheaper. Oddly, there are two islands of pumps — the one nearest and facing the station is easy to access for vehicles coming and going in either direction, but the row of pumps closer to the street is narrower and will only allow vehicles to go in one direction. If you have a large truck, motor home or anything that has a long bed or trailer hitched to the back, it may not be wise to choose this side of the pumps. Once you go through, be prepared for a sharp curve while exiting. Another concern is if your vehicle decides to stall, anyone behind you will be forced to back out or just curse at you for blocking them in! Some nice perks with this station is that they have a 7-Eleven, Burger King and the usual drive through car wash. It’s always nice to have these ever popular conveniences in one location!

Interesting that when I visited this Chevron, there was another customer stating-asking: «I prepaid for fuel with cash, why am I being charged the higher(20 cents per gallon) price listed on your sign out front?» Employee Singh stated that the lower price only applies if you are also going to buy a car wash. Hah, ha! The joke’s on you, paying customer! I wondered the same thing. I asked where all of this mumbo-jumbo language-gamesmanship was explained and Singh could only blather on in Hindi or something with the occasional English word tossed in. I asked: Was Singh in charge of the store? «No!». I approached employee Preet and asked him: Are you running this business? He delivered the same act: «I know nothing, I’m just a dumb employee who mostly speaks Hindi and not English.» Oddly, Singh did not want to give me a receipt for my fuel purchase. I haggled with him for it and eventually he gave it to me. When Singh saw me taking pictures of him outside the store, he came out to rant at me. I told him: I won’t complain about you and Preet and your store if you’ll just return to me the 20 cents per gallon for paying cash. He stopped ranting, turned around, and walked back into the store. I guess he didn’t want his picture and pictures of his station posted on the Internet. On Monday, I will contact Chevron and ask them if this is the sort of press that they would prefer to have or live with out. This station is in a poor part of Sacramento. Perhaps they can treat their clientele badly because their clientele will take it. Your mileage may vary.

I only pump Chevron gas for my vehicles and this Chevron station is always 3 – 4 cents cheaper per gallon than most other Chevrons that I pass by on a daily basis. Also, they give a 15 cent per gallon discount if you buy a car wash with your gas. I usually by the $ 3.99 express wash when my car is really dirty. If I were to pump 10 gallons of gas, I would get a $ 1.50 discount, which would mean that I’d be getting the car wash for a few bucks. Also, make sure to go inside and ask them to turn on the air and water for you, if you need it. By law, water and air are free in California, so don’t bother wasting your quarters for air and water.
