I have trusted them with my family jewels, literally! Never once did I fear they had ripped me off or taken advantage of me, never! This is an interesting business, family owned & operated. If you want to sell, buy or pawn your things CLJ IS THE ONLY PLACE TO GO TO! Trust me I know!

I don’t understand some of the other Unilocal negative reviews. The staff there are excellent! Very empathetic and they do not judge. I have had to go there to pawn some items now a couple of times over the last month and they made the entire process simple and straightforward. I can highly recommend them. They were fair, professional and trustworthy. It helps to know what you items are worth and not to expect them to go beyond what is fair. They are in the business to make money and are taking some risk. But again, very friendly and fair.

Came in here with a really nice 150 dollar watch and the old man at the counter took one look at it and said it’s worth basically nothing. I was like. what? And he points out «oh it’s missing a link it’s too small». It fit me perfectly. I’m an average sized woman. It’s a WOMAN’S WATCH!
Took my business next door where they were sweet and gave me money for it. Some lucky lady will soon enjoy her brand new watch. I’m glad I didn’t give my business to those cranky old jerks at California Loan & Jewelry.

If you have any antique jewelry to sell DO NOT take it to this place. I took in my beautiful antique Euro cut diamond ring to these guys, Warren looked at it, and told me it had a «major flaw» in the diamond, and that is was a «weird» cut. He also said that he thinks the stone is, «fake». Obviously he has never encountered hand cut antique stones before. I didn’t protest as I had lost interest when I realized that he knew squat about old jewelry. Anyway, I didn’t tell him that I used to work for a jewelry store and knew that the ring was indeed real, and indeed, a seldom scene old Euro cut stone. He made an offer on my other stuff, but after his display of limited knowledge I packed it up and bounced. Seriously, only go here if you have very basic jewelry to hawk.

Michelle and the team at California Loan & Jewelry are above and beyond FANTASTIC! They have made my wife’s engagement ring and wedding band about 2 years ago and we could not be happier with how it came out. I then just decided to add an additional wedding band to it and again the team at CL&J did a impeccable job!
I am very particular who I trust with custom made jewelry and I can tell you that I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I live almost 100 miles away in SF but will always make the trip to Downtown Sacramento to work with the great people and quality they provide!

What a relief! I needed quick cash and had some old jewelry and coins to sell. I found California Loan on J street and chose it because it looked clean and organized. There were a few customers purchasing items, and I was greeted immediately. I announced that I was there to sell, not buy, and was treated as if I were a customer there to buy. I appreciated their honesty (I had checked my values against ebay & other jewelers before coming in) and I feel I got the best price for my items. My transaction was quick and painless.
As far as their selection of jewelry, guitars, etc. — they are displayed nicely and I will be back to buy next time. I’ll think of these guys first when in need of new jewelry also, simply because they were professional and friendly and respectful toward me (and have a good selection of beautiful earrings amongst other things).

i went in yesterday to see if i could sell some items and warren was the the man he portrays to be like when he’s on channel 31i had a bracelet and he gave me a price and i told him no way i can get more and he asked from who told him and the price. actually told me no way not for scrap gold well warren its the people you know that one gets thee best price frfor anything. i wanted to see you because i watched you on channel 31 but would i ever go back to your shop absolutely not. you should never be as rude as you were or assume one can not get a better price then you give because it happens every day. its unfortunate as i really wanted to work with him. had items that are antiques but he wanted to give me scrap ilver price for an item thats on line for… lets just say graigs list will have it so everyone take a look. like kristie Unilocaled rude and didn’t want to even take a look at what i had… like he does when he’s on tv. well meet him in person when he’s not on tv and you will find that he’s rude and really didn’t have the time of day or second to try to help me. was a waste of gas but now i know he’s a fake

Great service at a great price. The gentleman in the shop cut a seriously suck ring from my hand. He also repaired it seamlessly. The ring has great sentimental value at it was my father’s wedding band. All this for $ 20!

Beyond rude. If you want to feel 2 inches tall, go here. You would think a business that is used to people looking for money (usually in a desperate time) would be a little nicer and more compassionate. Unfortunately for him, I wasn’t desperate and turned around and walked right out. It seems he’s let the «power» go to his head. Don’t waste your time driving in business 80 traffic to give this jerk your business.
