Tourist Haven Motel

I stayed here for one night because the owner very generously reserved the room for my mom and I while we were staying in town on rather short notice. Most of these units are rented on a weekly basis for locals, but the owner, Chris keeps a few available per night for visitors.
Located right across of Fun Town Splash Town, and next to the best homemade hard serve ice cream around, Martels, this is convenient and great for the price. The sheets and towels are clean, the rooms are clean, and there is a refrigerator and microwave right in the rooms. Again, it’s not bad for a stay when you’re mostly looking for convenience to the highway, and a good price in the summers when even the grossest hotel price gouge you in Maine.
The one star off is because you are allowed to smoke in the room. I didn’t smoke in mine, but it’s clear our neighbor did because the room smelled like stale smoke. I just sprayed some of my body spray around, and opened up the window and door, and it wasn’t even noticeable by the time we went to bed.
Overall, you can tell the owner Chris, has his heart in the right place, and the folks staying there are the nicest, most genuine «Mainahs» you can find!
