Thank you for your expert and friendly advice! I have driven by the Moody’s sign a bunch of times and thought they were a really small nursery. When I finally pulled in, I was pleasantly surprised. GREAT selection of plants, mulch, soil etc. But what was even more impressive was how nice and helpful they are. They gave me the confidence to try some new varieties and answered my millions of questions. Thank you Moody’s! I will NOT be returning to the cold harsh big box world.

Having recently purchased a home in Saco I wanted to buy locally so I went to Moody’s. The grounds immediately outside the building are pretty but it ends there. Customer service is terrible; I have been ignored while standing at the counter. The store is poorly stocked and neither clean nor appealing. I attempted to shop there three times and I was disappointed three times. First I wanted peony rings; they didn’t have any. Second time I went for clay pots, again none. The third time I was looking for a hanging plant hook and, you guessed it. I vowed I would never go back there to shop but alas I gave them one more try. I ordered one yard of mulch to be delivered. My transaction was interrupted by a phone call and a second employee began to complete the transaction. I quickly signed the credit receipt and stashed it in my wallet. Several days later as I was going through my receipts I noticed two charges, they both were listed on the receipt as bark mulch, one priced 34.95 and the other 43.95. I thought I had been charged for two yards so I went back to the store with my receipt. The employee looked and told me that the 43.95 was the delivery charge! «Nobody told you?», she asked. «That’s the delivery charge whether you get one yard or ten.» Well it would have been nice to have been told that. Given that I live barely a mile down the road do you really think I would have knowingly paid more for delivery than the mulch itself? I would have at least made other arrangements. I realize it was partly my fault for not looking at my receipt, but really. And people wonder why consumers use the big box stores.
