Called on a Sunday morning to find out their hours of operation, pricing options, tastings & food. The gentleman who answered the phone, Clint, was funny & very helpful– just from the interaction, my friends & I knew we had to visit this winery. While there we met Clint, who was as great in person as on the phone. He provided numerous food options to us since they do not provide food at the winery. We had our tasting & all the wines were incredible– only one of 2 wineries I purchased from our of 11 that we visited. I called today inquiring regarding my wine shipment– UPS never notified me regarding a shipment & was sent back to Peju. I called &, yet again, another great experience with Clint. All was made right :) Highly recommend!

Stopped by to show the BF’s family since we were in the area and they had commented on the trees on the way up. $ 35 for a tasting but you can share(which I suggest). They were pretty generous with tailoring the pours to your taste, depending what you liked and added additional wines outside from the list shown. If you buy two bottles then you can waive the tasting fee and they have a handful of wines that were $ 20 – 30 so it’s worth getting bottles.

The wine here is fantastic. Every spring, I split a case of their Provence with a friend(it’s my favorite wine of all time). I also love how non-fussy their wine tastings are(no tours, just wine– once you’ve seen one winery you’ve seen them all IMO). I DO wish their tasting rooms were a bit better though. Most of the time you just stand at a counter in the lobby to do the tasting, so you miss out on the nice weather and views, and there are no chairs. Maybe I’ve just visited during the wrong season though? Either way, I will keep ordering their Provence and visiting their winery for easy, fun tastings.

I’ve been wanting to visit here for 1yr now since I started visiting Napa. However, I’ve always visited with a large group & was told this destination isn’t good for large groups. This time it was a friend & I so we took the opportunity to check this off our list. Upon my arrival the grounds captured my attention; very serene and beautiful. Sculptures, floral, waterfalls, & areas to set-up for a sweet picnic. Additionally, I loved the fact that they’re a dog friendly winery! Hence my 3 star rating. As you walk in there’s a small shopping/waiting area & you are informed that they only allow tastings inside & don’t offer single wine serving inside; which was very disappointing. Also, they were only offering certain wines that they picked that day. I decided to just try it & needless to say, my tasting experience wasn’t enjoyable at all. The wine bar area was hot & was already full before the group I was added to join; then I was stuck in the back corner. The Sommelier was sweet but you could tell she was overwhelmed & the group that was there before kept consuming her time. Therefore, my group waited a long time before each tasting & felt overlooked. The wine wasn’t very pleasing to my palate, therefore I didn’t finish my full tasting & asked to close out. Definitely glad I had the opportunity to check this place out but will not be returning.

Nice winery, but too pricey, especially when you don’t post prices. We saw a Mother’s Day complimentary tasting online, which did not exist. Yes, we should have asked ahead of time and clarified. But when you charge $ 35/person w/o any upfront notice of cost, mediocre wine, and very average pours, you are asking for many 2 star ratings.

Where do I start. Before I knew much about wine or wine country, I had a stop here during a bachelorette party(bad sign number 1), but I remember them pouring a really good rose that year and I had fond memories of it. Flash forward to a couple weeks ago. What a mess. I was there with a wine club member and another friend — we had to stand around the«shopping» areas around the tasting room for over an hour while waiting to be called for a spot to taste. I saw an older lady waiting with her family literally about to collapse. All the rooms seemed to be in charge of some young guy(like really young) who was obviously stoned and in over his head. We finally get called and the guy doing our pours had the audacity to say, in most wineries you have to Elbow your way in for a drink, here we stay organized. Then he went on to do some juggling act I guess was for the tourists. If I wasn’t with a wine club member who needed a pickup on our last stop of the day, obviously we would have left. What a horrible experience. Save yourself the time and money and go taste at smaller places around dry creek, Calistoga, anywhere… Or if you want the fancy wine experience, try another spot along this strip.

Scott is the most amazing wine person! He is so entertaining and really describes the wines! I love the group tasting style. They are also open later than most of the wineries so that is great!

Reasonable prices, good wine. Excellent landscape. Very dog-friendly. Lots of room to roam. No appointment necessary. Definitely on my short list!

Beautiful winery… several trading rooms, but why stay indoors when their grounds are so beautiful, nice to walk around, sit under a tree and enjoy your wine. You can join a group and do the wine tasting flight, or just purchase by the glass and walk around the estate. We took the by the glass option so we could walk around the grounds, view the small gallery, and relax in this great place… wine was great, reasonably priced to higher end. We’re not connoisseurs, so we bought a couple of the more reasonable prefixed but great with a steak wines-cabs… would definitely come back and so another tasting.

Great service and absolutely gorgeous location, though wines were just okay. The nice thing about Peju is that they do their tastings in a small group setting, so you won’t be stuck throwing elbows at a crowded bar. When you walk in, they’ll take down your name and party size, and then once they have a group of 8 or so, they’ll walk you back to your own tasting counter, where one person will serve your group. The location is absolutely beautiful, with a large stained glass window, high ceilings, and numerous fountains outside. The servers are also pleasant, and tell cute stories about the origins of the wines. The wines, alas, were not as good. The white they served was palatable, the white/red blend(while it had a cute little story) was pretty unfortunate, and the two reds were okay but not great. Ironically, their Piccolo(a red wine), which was not included in our tasting but which our server gave us a sampling of for free, was actually quite good. A shame they didn’t include it in our actual tasting! We also got a free sample of their rose, which was very dry and carbonated. The pours were also rather small, especially for $ 25 for 4 tastings, but I felt a little better about it once they gave us the extra two tastings. It’s really a shame because the winery truly is beautiful, and perhaps if they gave us tastings of their higher end wines they might have tasted better(the Piccolo was served to the couple next to us who were members, and our server offered it to us as well as we peered over at it curiously). But with so many other amazing wineries in the region, I might have to pass on coming back here.

My friend and I had a private tasting and tour with a package I won at a silent auction. This was a first personal tour many of my friends had experienced, so they were very impressed. We started with a glass of wine and walked the estate. We got the history of the estate at the family. We had a personal tasting in an upstairs room. We bought several cases and our host brought them to our car for us. Wine is reasonably price, so it was a big hit.

Stay away from this seedy place. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. My friends and I went for a tasting. Their tasting included a flight of 4 wines. Correction: 4 crappy wines and extremely stingy pours. Our party of five was crammed in with a couple who are members and another couple. The tasting area was clearly able to accommodate only 7 – 8 max. But they made us all squeeze in — I actually got a «spot» behind the cash register without any counter space. When we were ready to pay and leave, that is when things got shady. The person who poured for us stated that it was $ 25 per taste but they would waive the tasting fee if we would buy 2 or more bottles per person. Since none of us in our group liked any of the wines, we said no thanks and were ready to pay. He then stated that it was $ 25 per taste. So, we paraphrased and said, «$ 25 for the flight, right?» We got confused when he said, NO. One in my group ask, «$ 25 per tasting or per glass?» He replied, «No. It’s per glass. Also, I can give you 10% off if you buy a whole case of wine.» We were in a dilemma of paying $ 100 per person for their stingy tasting or pay $ 54 per person to buy and split a case of crappy wine we didn’t want. We were confused because tastings are usually a set price for a flight of wine selection. Yet this guys said the price is $ 25 per glass. That would mean $ 100 per person??? So I stepped out of the tasting room and called the front desk. The receptionist clarified and reconfirmed the price is $ 25 per person for the 4 wines in flight. I was pissed and so were my friends. This guys purposefully left us confused. Even when we tried to clarify, he tried to take advantage of us and purposefully mislead us. We paid our $ 25 per person fee and left. Don’t come here if you don’t want to be scammed with shotty pourers.

My first time at Peru what a great experience. Shannon Shenanigans was amazing!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience! Will definitely be back with my boyfriend to visit Peru. The Merlot was my favorite!

I was a Peju club member for about a year. Truth be told I would probably still be a member if they knew anything about customer service. Provence and 50⁄50 are two of my favorite wines. Most wineries treat their members a little special whisking them away to reserved members only areas while they wait for a tasting. On more than one occasion we’ve been made to wait quite a bit before being brought in for a tasting. Don’t claim on your website you don’t need to make a reservation if you’re going to make members wait in a tight entry area to pick up your shipment and do a tasting. My wife had a blouse ruined when during a tasting the person pouring accidentally splashed her. There was no sense of urgency on their part to get something to clean it up. After our last poor experience I emailed them to cancel our membership and express my disappointment. I was assured someone would call me to discuss the matter further. This was their opportunity to show their concern for my business and win me back. Sadly they completely dropped the ball in this regard as I never received a call or further email. They most likely could have held me on as a member but their lack of showing any appreciation for a customer lost me for good. Sadly Peju is no longer on my list of stops when I bring friends through the area.

Pretty nice wine tasting on a nice grounds. The driveway and property feature these cool curved trees and the tasting area itself is a nice house with a few counters spread throughout. After a short wait, I went to the stained glass room where I started my tasting. I sampled 5 – 7 decent sized pours for $ 25. Most of the wines were solid — the specialty is the«love potion» which was among the better tasting of their wines. The highlight was definitely our friendly host– he was in SAG-AFTRA and I especially liked how he said I had the name and looks of a potential actor(pretty sure we tipped him well after being slightly buzzed hehe).

Such a hospitable bunch here! I made a reservation for a private tasting for my big family trip of 12 adults, and they gave us a nice, big tasting room all to ourselves. My family was running a whole half hour late, and while my husband and I were already there, they did not give us hard time at all(which I come to expect from Napa wineries if you are running late). Alex, the manager was so sweet, so kind and even started us off with their rose sparkling wine. He came back to check in again 15mins later, and offered us chocolates, and some treats that they have inside, if we were interested. Alex is so friendly, I cannot thank him enough to make me and my family feel so welcomed at Peju. I read that it was dog friendly and brought our goldie with us. Unfortunately, because it is carpet upstairs in the tasting room, dogs were not allowed, so we left him outside. But, Alex checked on our dog twice for us and came back up to let us know, our dog was doing fine. He even offered some water for our doggies, but we had already filled his water bowl. Once my family arrived, we were brought upstairs by Jean, to our private tasting room. The tasting menu had 4 wines, but we were able to try a totally of 6 in our tasting, for $ 40pp. I thoroughly enjoyed their wines, and definitely appreciated the complimentary breadsticks and water as well. Jean did a good job describing the wines to us, and giving us enough time to enjoy each tasting. Personal favorites, and the ones we walked out of here with: Provence(fun, chilled, red– so unique and drinkable), Piccolo, and Merlot(bold merlot that resembles a cab). All their wines we tasted were affordable, everyday drinkers. The entire experience here was very enjoyable, wines were great, and they took care of my dog. The entire package earned them 5 stars for me. However, I did dock off one star because majority of wineries wave a tasting fee or two, if you purchase wine. The group of us collectively bought a case(12) of wines, and none of the fees were waived. Not sure if I’m too use to being spoiled by other wineries that do, but I was surprised they didn’t. Oh well, still a great winery nonetheless!

We stumbled in about 15 minutes before closing. The hosts out front were nice enough to give us a mini tasting, even though they were about ready to close. They were so friendly! After we tasted and bought our wine, we wandered around the outside of the winery. What a breathtakingly beautiful place! If I didn’t already have dreams of getting married in Bali, I would say I wanted to get married at Peju. The teddybear sunflower field was fantastic for taking photos! The entire property is gorgeous, and I cannot wait to go back(at an appropriate hour) for the whole experience!

Great tasting experience in a beautiful environment! Solid wines, helpful staff! Interesting wall art, exquisite tasting area. I would definitely recommend for those looking for diverse tasting. We bought a few bottles here. We really enjoyed their blended Provence, served chilled.

Of seven winery visits in one day, this was a top two favorite. The ambiance, service and offerings were unmatched. And the place is huge. It has a ton of tasting space and lots of employees. When we pulled up and walked in, we thought they were giving away something. Then we presumed it was commercialized offerings that could not compete with the boutique establishments we loved so much. Boy were we wrong. Jeff Vaughn knew his stuff. The wine was out of this worldly great and the prices were competitive. All of this helps explain why this winery produces the seventh largest amount of wine in area. Of the pours, the Provence, Merlot and Petit Verdot were the bottles we could not leave without. That said, I am not a Merlot drinker but the 3% Malbec made all the difference. If we had decided on the others, I would have left with this one. If you buy two bottles, your $ 25 tasting fee is waived. If you buy a case, shipping is $ 5 bucks. Also, we learned of a gadget which allows you to pour a taste of a great bottle without removing the cork and compromising the flavor. I suspect the BF will have to dream about Coravin because we left without one. That said, I suspect there’s one in his future and from what we were told, they are cheaper here than anywhere else.

Probably the best winery we went to yesterday. It’s family owned and has a pretty rich history, so we decided to give this location a shot as this was the first winery my gf had ever been to do. Time to relive the memories. This is a classy one and there is a bit of a wait time compared to other wineries before you do your tasting. We were about to leave, but were told that they would take us right there and then. The presentation was very well done, and I must suggest the Piccolo wine which was the best they I tasted here. There is also some guy who is supposed to sing here, but I didn’t catch him. Still, the grounds are beautiful and the stain glass windows upstairs were a sight to behold. Take your time here and explore and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it even more than if you were to drink and leave. Great place.
