Eh. I’ve had better. Sandwiches have strange fixings listed, so it’s hard to decide without minusing this and adding that. Who puts lettuce, tomatoes, mustard and mayo(yet no cheese) on a French dip? Blech! Portions were small for the price, and sandwiches don’t include fries. It took so long to get our food late lunch on a Sunday. Service was sweet, but the tea was not — it was so watered down. The restrooms are disgusting.

Sad that there was no soap in the ladies bathroom, even sadder that I told the bartender, later she instructed that a leaving waitress make sure the bathrooms were fully stocked before she left. I saw her leave, then later I went to the restroom, it was occupied, I waited. A waitress/bartender came out, I went in, still no soap. So the staff is using the bathroom and not using soap to wash their hands before returning to work. I will not be back. The place is a cluttered shit-show. I saw bugs crawling on the counter. The staff was doing shots at 3:00 in the afternoon.

Nice fun atmosphere but food was just ok at best and took over an hour to get a hamburger

We just left this resaurant. We were told it was a good place to eat by the chamber. Food was ok. The waitress Katy was more interested in what was going on in the football. game in the backroom. We had to continually wait and try to flag her down for service in the dining room. She did not even silverware until she was asked. The dining room only had 4 occupied tables. They only had 2 people at each table. Food was good. We were served potato chips from the bottom of the barrel. They were all broken up. Didn’t bother to say anything as she wasn’t really interested in service

Service was great but my grilled chicken sandwich sucked The chicken was slightly larger than a chicken tender and extremely dry my wife and son got the turkey melt they said it was great The chicken sandwich is not worth nine dollars but it’s in a great location and the inside of the restaurant smells like hand sanitizer

Hamburger was delicious and the service was very good. Has a great outdoor space but I ate inside this time since it was over 100 degrees.

Extremely RUDE, with awful customer service. Used to love this place but recently went to get a pick up order where they gave me the wrong bag and then two employees proceeded to blame ME when I called back to straighten it out. Not sure how I took the wrong bag when the girl put an extra ranch that I asked for in that bag and then slid it toward me to take. Will not be coming here again. Wish I could give zero stars for being such jerks.

I was in Ruston working for several weeks(2 months) — This place is pretty cool. Nice outdoor seating with great food and drinks. Our team(co-workers) went here about 2 to 3 times a week after work for dinks and dinner — Sometimes they had a band and sometimes just a comfortable atmosphere. Drinks are cheap and food a priced well. This was a good find

Sundown is one of the best spots in downtown Ruston. They have a great menu. I haven’t tasted anything I don’t like, although the Reuben with a side of fried green beans is my go to order. The cheese fries and are amazing as well. Definitely sit on the patio. The inside is a little dark and lonely. Sundown is not the destination for a quick bite to eat. Rated 4 stars rather than 5 because their service is rather slow… but Sundown is the perfect place to go for an evening with friends planning to be out for a few hours. Order drinks and food and then stay for the nightlife.

Food is good but my friend had a horrible experience with the owner being racist so I give it 3 but it had the potential to be 4.

Would get 5 stars, but service is slow. Can take 30 minutes for 2 people’s orders. One of local hot spots. Occasionally has live music on outdoor patio. Has good burgers and sandwiches. Does have a large bar with tv’s and pool tables.

I love their burgers. I don’t know why but they are consistently perfect. Others I know have endorsed their turkey melt. Also if you are looking for an appetizer I suggest the fried green bean. I guarantee you will love it. The only thing that might be an issue here is the time it takes to get your food, so be prepared to wait, but I can assure you that it is worth it!

Awesome food, great staff, and good music. Nothing is bad and the staff is awesome. They have burgers and sandwiches and all kinda of food and it’s all good. My favorite is the buffalo chicken sandwich. It’s not too vinegary and the chicken is always crisp. I have had the pleasure of playing at sundown and the acoustics are great and the crowd loves any type of music. Bartenders are great and helpful. I’ve never had a negative experience at sundown except maybe the bar. Sometimes the bartenders will give more attention to the regulars but that’s expected I guess. I frequent this place and wish I could visit more often

First time here. Food was just ok. Sweet potato fries were good. French fries we very soggy Service was awful!!! I think the hamburger could of been good but it was cold. I hope it was the waitresses first night, though I doubt it. It took forever to get service, She directed me outside in the pouring rain when I asked where the restroom was. She brought the tab before asking if we needed anuthing else, and when I asked for a second drink she directed me to the bar. Not somewhere I would frequent again… especially with the same waitress.

Best bar in Ruston. Five stars for all the good times I’ve had here. I realize, that with many divey places like Sundown, there are going to be flaws– imperfect service, not the cleanest, you have to pay a cover when a band comes regardless of if you are only eating on the patio, BUT the drink prices are the best in town, they have the best bartenders in town, and this is where the coolest, most laid back people in town go. You’ll feel right and home, have some great beer, and your sandwich will be pretty tasty. And, for God’s sake, sit on the patio on a nice day. Nothing better.

You all had me worried when you said dive bar. I was picturing a small dark room with the local drunk planted at the end of the bar, in a sketchy part of town. This place is in an artsy part of town, looks to be where the young trendy people hang out. There is a good mix of people here, college kids, older folks, and even some bikers(the real kind, not the weekend warrior type). Atmosphere is artsy, with beer bottle art in patio planters, and fresh flowers in patron bottles on every table. The wait staff is nice and honest when asked about the food. I like to ask what they like and go from there. She said she loved the turkey melt so that is what my husband had, he said it was great. Good flavor. I was craving a burger, so I had the burger and fries. They were both good. Worth the seven min. drive off of I 20. It has full bar, but we were driving for a few more hours so we didn’t partake. It looked like a good selection.

Oh, Ruston. How I love your culinary delights. Fried oyster po’boy was excellent! It’s a great place to hang out on the patio and eat some traditional fried foods with friends. They have fantastic live music on the weekend, and it’s just right downtown with good parking. I feel like we need more places like Sundown.

Sundown reminds me of the Sunset Tavern back home that I used to frequent and live nearby. It’s got an indoor and outdoor area, serves food a little better than your standard bar food and has that rustic feel to it. Service is shoddy– they are SUPER understaffed so our waitress only came to our table a couple times at the beginning and that was it, so I couldn’t order a refill and couldn’t order any food when I had finally decided what I wanted. But this is the place to be and have a good time. It’s usually packed on nights by people of all ages, even children drawing with sidewalk chalk on the patio. It’s a bit odd how you don’t get a bill and tell them what you ordered on your way out– the honor system has me puzzled but it works as long as you don’t forget to pay!

What a perfect little southern burger joint! It is great for sitting on the patio with a few friends, some drinks and the best homemade fries in Ruston! The staff is typically beyond hospitable – I mean unless you’re a whiney customer. It is a really interesting mix between a hang out place for the boys to get beers(newcastle on tap!) and burgers and a snazzy, well decorated place for the girls to have wine and salads. There is also a large patio that is perfect for parties. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone passing through Ruston, LA.

This place is so cool, you’ll forget you’re in Ruston(until they make last call at 11:45 pm)! Yes, due to its spatial confines within Ruston City proper, this dive bar serves good draft beer(which did include Abita Purple Haze) and eclectic live music acts ’til midnight(except on the Lord’s day, of course). This bar is you’re only real alternative to what you’d expect at a college bar near Louisiana Tech(not that there’s anything wrong with it). It’s also dog friendly in their sweet patio area in the back. The food is pretty good for a bar, too!
