Pali Institute

If I had the option I would give the Pali Institute a big fat ZERO! My daughter just came home from a terrible experience at Pali. Not really sure where to start, but lets start with her BULLY camp counselor!!! Still waiting to hear back from the director of the camp to find out exactly how long her counselor has been employed at Pali, what her experience with my daughters age group (I think none) and her background. My daughter told me that the counselor was flat out mean, never showing compassion to children that were homesick or not feeling well. She told my daughter to not hug or console her friend who was crying. She would make my daughter and her friends eat everything on their plate even if they did not like it. The counselor would also go to the soda machine and mix all the different flavors of the soda and make her drink it. Plus she would also make my daughter continuously drink water, even when she could barely get it down. When my daughter was outside in the cold she was crossing her arms across her chest and her counselor physically touched my daughter and yanked her arms down and told her not to cross arms! I could go on and on about experiences that my daughter told me about at this awful camp. It is so unfortunate that my daughter had such a horrible experience. When you send your child off to camp for the first time in their lives you hope that they come back with memorable experiences. You believe that your children are going to protected. This experience was anything but a positive one. I asked my daughter if she would ever go back to camp again she said «NO WAY» Thank you camp counselor STARFIRE for ruining something that was suppose to be a very special event in my daughters life…

My son just came back from Pali with his class and he can’t stop talking about what a great time he had. I would let him go again if he gets the opportunity.

I came here for a retreat and the accommodation is great and the food is amazing! The bathrooms are very clean and the staff makes a huge effort the make sure everything is sanitary. The camp facilitators are very friendly and articulate, and actually helped our team bond like never before. Overall, I’m very impressed and satisfied with this place! I would definitely recommend this place for team bonding and educational camps.

My son went to Pali camp 2 days ago and boy he was stressed! These are things my son told me so they may not be accurate. «first of all, the food was terrible, it was just plain boring his activity grope didn’t get to do the zip line however, the kids that were there from another school did.» It was snowing like crazy but we didn’t get to throw a single snowball. He said sleep was the worst part at 8:30 they had to be in bed and they make sure that they were sleeping by waving flashlights in there eyes.“Id say the charter bus that took us their is more comparable then the beds.” The worst part for me and my wife is that we had to pay $ 359 dollars to have him go !? I truly would only charge $ 125 for that bad experience

My 11 year old son just returned from a 3 day field trip to Pali with his school. Although much of his experience was positive, I was alarmed to hear that the Pali counselor allowed him and his cabin mates to go to bed at midnight, and wake up at 4:30 a.m. to hunt for bobcats. A kid in his cabin shook my son until he woke up, and even though he asked everyone to be quiet so he could go back to sleep, they did not listen and the counselor never defended him or told the kids to go back to bed.
Fortunately they did not come upon any bobcats, which could potentially have been dangerous. However, this is an adventure camp with activities that require kids to be energetic and alert. Kids this age need to sleep, and getting less than half a night’s sleep could lead to accidents and unnecessary sickness.
I suggest that if you are considering this camp, that you have a thorough conversation with the administration regarding their policies about sleep and safety.

Great food and they are making lots of improvements.

Excellent experiential education camp for students. My wife and I came up for an open house and can’t wait to bring students here. Great team– and confidence-​building activities like zip lines and ropes courses, plus classes!
