Small library that packs a big punch with its selection and computer station availability. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. Parking is a bit of a nightmare since it’s on the street. There’s a great selection of magazines also.

If you want to compare this library to the one in Copley good luck. It’s like comparing apples to oranges. While they’re not going to have every book you’re dreaming of here, they have decent service and a great kids section. Half of the library is dedicated to little ones which includes tons of books, computers and board games. It also includes a section for parents and teachers. They other half is dedicated to adult reading. If you’re looking to get a library card, remember to bring your state ID or some form of ID and a piece of mail. I signed up for one and this library branch and it was a breeze. When I helped one of the kids I was watching get one at Copley, we waited in line for about 15 minutes. If you need to use the restroom, you have to get the key from the librarian. The bathrooms were clean but smelled kind of funky. Also, a random tid bit about the women’s bathroom, if you turn the temperature knob on the water, you won’t get any water.

This small branch in mission hill is definately nothing like the grandiose central library, but it holds it own. The building itself is very cute and has some good architecture. The area is perfect for grabbing a book and sitting the beautiful park next door in the shadow of mission church. The branch specializes in mystery novels, but they do have a few small sections of other fiction books. Like all libraries in Boston you can pick up and return books from the Central Library to this library, and it’s much easier to get to than the one downtown. There is also a small non-fiction and test prep section, but if you are looking for a mystery, this is the library to seek out.
