The only fault I can find with Winfrey’s is that there’s too much to choose from. Since I can’t hold it against them, I’m going to add my five star review to the others. The chocolate is amazing and the fudge is a little too sweet for me(even the orange creamsicle fudge), so I went for the chocolate. There are a ton of small stores like this scattered thoughout New England like Mrs. Nelson’s in Chelmsford and Sanborn’s in Plaistow, NH. But I’ve never been to one where the chocolate was this good.

OK it is true, I am spoiled… but honestly I’m worth it. That is why I will only buy candy at Winfrey’s. Made on the premises from the richest, creamiest chocolate ever Winfrey’s is just plain yummy! While I’m not a big fan of fudge, they do offer a wide variety of flavors and they are all melt in your mouth good. In addition, they offer beautifully wrapped boxes of cream, fruit and caramel filled chocolates. BUT the real treasures are in the candy case along the right hand side of the store; chocolate dipped pretzels, Twinkies, cookie dough, candy canes, potato chips, graham crackers, coffee beans, peeps… you name it they’ve dipped it and they are all out of this world! My recommendation: buy a bag of the dark chocolate malted milk balls they alone are worth the trip!

If you show up for a date carrying a box of Russell Stover chocolates you bought at CVS, you’ll probably get a kiss on the cheek. If you show up carrying a box from Winfrey’s, you’ll probably skip the date and go right for dessert. Winfrey’s wares are, quite simply, sinfully good. They have a variety of flavors, and most are available in milk or dark chocolate(and as studies have shown, dark chocolate is health food!). Gift-boxed arrangements are available, but choosing your own is much more fun. Any of the Winfrey’s shops are well worth the trip.
