I’ve always had good food with decent service at this place, but not today! When my girlfriend’s noodle arrived we noticed a hair in it and notify the waiter right away. He kind of questioned us and re-inspected it again few times before taking it back to the kitchen. Since my food was already here we decided to cancel the noodle, but when we did, the waiter yell back saying ‘don’t worry we won’t bring back the same noodle soup back! But I’ll cancel for you anyway’. And then when the check came, he added up the wrong amount and when we called him he answered ‘so whats wrong this time?’ He then proceed to let lecture me on math on why a $ 11.49 meal with tax should total up to $ 15.29?! WTFuge?! So anyway, my point to this review is good food with a dumb ass waiter. Oh btw, this does not apply to the waitress there. She’s actually pretty good.

After Unilocaling for a few minutes around the area, I was attracted to this place because of the main picture– Deep Fried Bun. Given that it was close by and closes at 10pm daily, I decided to bring my bf along to give this place a shot for a casual dinner last weekend. We ordered their specialty dish– Hainam Chicken with Rice, and Filet Cubes with Red Rice. For veggies, we got the Tofu with Veggies. Both main dishes were good, but not great. The rice and meat were pretty oily and greasy. The chicken to me was a little dry and tasteless, unless I was eating it with the sauce it came with. They offer dark meat chicken for an extra charge of $ 2. My Filet Cubes were tasty, but too tasty and salty for me. The black pepper sauce was very strong and overpowering. The meat, however, was very soft and tender. For $ 9 though, was a little over priced for me. The Tofu dish was probably my favorite. I am a huge fan of Salt & Pepper dishes. The tofu here was lightly deep fried and was placed with the sauce and veggies. I was very impressed. Usually most places over fried the tofu and it becomes dry and too crunchy. This is just right for me and I loved it. They also give out complimentary soup prior bringing your food. The carrot and veggie soup definitely tastes like it was prepared with enough ingredients and not with MSG. I overheard a family from another table complimenting their soup. The worker was very proud and let them know that they use a lot of ingredients and the soup was prepared for many hours. Overall, a decent place around the area. Although I really wanted the Deep Fried Bun and they were sold out. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come again, but I wouldn’t mind for a quick and easy meal.

Super disappointing experience. No A/C; thermostat showed 87 degrees. Inattentive service, even though there weren’t any customers. And guys with a 100 foot snake were walking in to deal with their plumbing problems. No other stores are still in business in their area of the strip shopping center. Just a terrible environment. I’d say just stay away. I guess I shouldn’t rely on Unilocal when there aren’t many reviews.

Food is superb considering the price. I would recommend the mignon cubes with rice and signature chicken dish. They do offer three types of chicken, but I always pick the boneless one. Emily is the partial owner here and she is super nice. If you live nearby, this place will definitely be your regular.

(+) Surprisingly delicious Hai Nan chicken rice, i was not expected to have this rating @ this small place. Again, never underestimate a meal by its surroundings, also it has a very reasonable price on the menu. (-) not a place for a big group of people. (=) i will definitely come back more often.

Cheap food with a lot of dishes around 5.99−6.99. I got the filet mignon cubes hoping it would be like the one at the late great noodle hut in the area. It was good but I’ll get the«chickens» next time.

This is certainly a hole in the wall. I never knew it existed until my friend raved about it. It’s a nice restaurant, but very small space. The décor is modern and tropical; lots of wood. The waitors are very friendly. The only I have ever tried was their rice noodle specialty. Depending on how many toppings you have(mushroom, chicken, etc) the increased price. All the ingredients seem fresh. The soup base is very light, not MSG filled. The noodles are smooth and tasty. Now let me say this, the portion is huge, enough to share with two people. It’s one of those bowls where you keep on eating, but seemingly never to disappear. Overall, this is a good restaurant if you want a filling meal. I only gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 stars only because it’s small. If they ever build one that’s bigger, the one star will be added(:

Get their specialty Chicken, ask the waiters, I’ve had all their chickens. I love it all, maybe because I favor bland(boiled type) chicken with sauce. I love their drunken chicken, because they add Dong Quai when they cook it. I love their house special Chicken, and I love their Hai-Nan Chicken. Their other dishes look good, too. I’d recommend this place to anyone in the area, you really have to try it to judge it for yourself, it’s not very expensive anyways. I am dying to try their rice noodle specials… Will update once I do.

Came here a while ago. This place is the same store in San Gabriel. They try to promote eating healthy chicken cuz it’s good for your body. Inside has a nice décor, tropicalish. The menu reminded me of café type food, they have lots of drinks and individual dishes. Lemon tea had unlimited refills. The curry was a little bit salty, but still ok. House special Hainan chicken tasted just like any other Hainan chicken. The place seemed just ok. Place can get crowded around meal times since it is small.
