Fred the shop owner is very efficient and very honest person. He was recommended by my husband’s Co worker and I highly recommend this person as well.

I went here to have transmission work done on my BMW and Fred was very honest and was able to do the work for an extremely good price. He is straight forward with what needs to be done and what can wait, and thinks for the customer and helps his clients save where they can. With 30 years of experience, he is knowledgeable his cars and parts. He does get extremely busy so it is always advised to plan ahead for auto work. He is extremely friendly, and I highly recommend! The driveway is very small, and his parking area is always full of cars. His sign is relatively small and a bit tough to see. They are right next to S-​K Auto Body. They share a gate fence, but look for the S-​K Auto sign and you will find them.

The owner of this place is amazing. He is a super honest guy who always answers his phone and never tries to lie to me or over charge me. His shop doesn’t look fancy but believe me he knows what he is doing. He always keeps up to date on all the recalls and tells you about any that apply to your car. I can’t say enough good things about him or his busines.

The owner of this shop is very passionate of what he’s doing. The shop is always busy so you’d better call first when is the best time to bring your car.

Mr. Gunawan is an honest guy. He will charge probably charge you half or less than the dealer. He will tell you if there’s a recall and he wont charge for his time.
I’ve been coming to here since 1998 and he always handle my Toyota, Honda, Lexus, Mercedez and BMW.
Very trustworthy mechanic is difficult to find these days.

You’ll probably often heard the horror stories of trying to find a good and honest auto mechanic is like finding a needle in a haystack. Well, look no further! Fred is that kind of mechanic. He will not BS you and will tell you what your car needs and he will tell you the cost of the repairs and whether it’s worth it or not to fix the problem. He and his other mechanic, Stefan, will do wonders to you car. He deals mostly with European and Asian imports so if you have a Honda, Acura, or BMW, then you’re in luck because that’s Fred’s specialty. He also has affinity for Minis. His reputation travels far, no kidding, I once was talking to a patient in the hospital I work in (quite far away from where the business is located) and we were talking about cars and mechanics and this guy happened to spoke about this amazing mechanic in Rowland Heights and he said that he trust this mechanic with his life they and they become good friends, and I just casually mentioned Fred’s business and the person just amazed that I know Fred also. Can’t beat that for word of mouth promotion! If you’re looking for a good secondhand car with reasonable price and reliability, Fred can help you too in that department.

These guys will never BS you! I took my car to them last week after going to so many mechanics in my area and nobody can figure out what’s causing my check engine light on, neither Firestone can’t do anything about it. So when I took my car to them, they called me up the same day… They are the only people who told me that my car is one of the Toyota recalls… Yah, these guys didn’t do anything to my car… But at least they are the only people who could actually give me a definite answer unlike any other auto body shops who would promise you they can fix it but won’t!

I’ve been going to Mr. Gunawan for a long time! He’s always amazing and big smile! He’s like family. My family and friends go to him for service and etc. Very detail work. He is quick and professional. It’s a piece of mind when u know your mechanic will do a good job and care.

Fred doesnt just work on imports anymore and does a little of everything. if he cannot do it he tells you right away

So the owner of this shop is Gunawan and I had my transmission fixed by him and he had charged me $ 1200 2 months ago, and put in the WRONG transmission with different gear ratios AND my gears still grinded. (The reason I sent my car in was to fix the grinding gears) So I came back because it wasn’t fixed and he took over 2 months to finish it CORRECTLY. Beware he takes forever if you bring it back cuz he already got your money. The transmission rebuild was around $ 1000 and he charged me $ 200 to replace «this and that» that seemed very unnecessary. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I got my car back with a few deep scratches on my front bumper and he said «oh it was already there» like are you kidding me? I look back at my car every time I park and touch up all the scratches I get, I think I would notice any new scratches. I have modified this car myself and I would definitely know if my car gets damages! Also not to mention there was a scratch on my trunk too. I was furious! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE HE IS VERY DISHONEST AND IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I have never wrote a review on Unilocal and I made an account just so I can post this so all of you can see how furious and upset I am with this mechanic.

For those of you who live in Rowland Heights, Walnut, Diamond Bar, West Covina or any other city in the San Gabriel Valley, Credo Automotive is the place to go to get your car checked up on and repaired. I’ve been going to Credo since 2000, and shop owner Fred Widjaja and his mechanics are very reliable in getting to the root cause of whatever automobile problem that you may have. I prefer going to this shop than a Toyota dealership (I own a Corolla), as Fred and his gang will fix the issue at hand but let me know if there are other problems with my vehicle… but NOT fix it without my permission and charge me in the process. [Not to go off-​topic, but I once had to go to a Toyota dealership to see what was causing the ‘Check Engine’ light on my Corolla to turn on. What turned out to be a mere hundred-​dollar issue (my spark plugs needed to be changed) ended up costing me $ 1,300 as the Toyota mechanic went out of his way to fix every issue on my car and make me pay for it. Anyways…]
So just to repeat, Credo Automotive is very trustworthy. Even if I lived 30 miles away, I’d still make the commute to have this shop take a look at my car. Assuming of course, my car was safe to drive on the freeway and didn’t require towing. That is all.

I have been coming here for 10 years, and I am always pleased with the service. The owner is very honest, and most of the time I come there for check ups, he always told me there is nothing wrong with my old car and just regular change will do it. For 10 years have been coming, the only service i got other than oil change is timing belt & change the battery, thats all.

Fred should be one of your top people on your service list. He’s a wonderufl and honest man, all around! Hard to trust mechanics but he is one of the few in this industry that will tell you the truth and honest opinion, if service or repairs are being done in your car. Can’t go wrong with him EXCEPT if you are driving an American car, as he is strictly working with Japanese and European cars.
My family had known him for 25 years and still, even wtih the drive to go there where we at right now, we will still sacrifice it and have our cars serviced.
The other thing, it is just not him that is trustworthy, even his staff are! They are all good and reliable people. Fred and CREDO Family — keep up the excellent job you are doing for years and years to come!
