This is my go to for something fresh and healthy for lunch! The selection of ingredients to build your own salad is rather impressive. They keep the stock fresh, the dressings are delicious, and options endless. I always have a good experience here and I have been to multiple locations within San Antonio and Austin. This location impressed me today though! The general manager was putting together my order. He was friendly from the moment I walked to the moment I walked out. He joked with another employee and myself. It wasn’t just a list your ingredients and let me put it together experience which made a nice ending to my workday. The girl at the register was also happy and kind. I should have known better to get names, but if the rest of the staff is like those two I’m sure you experience will be just as good.

«If you’re worried about getting a good salad here… ROMAINE calm, they LETTUCE pick from the best ingredients!» I just recently became a fan of salad and I can say I love this Salata location. This location is extremely clean, the staff is really helpful when you order and all their ingredients are fresh. The prices are kind of high(7 – 12 dollars, depending on what you add) but for the top notch ingredients and salads they offer, it is definitely worth the price. They offer 5 kinds of salad mixes for you to start with(my favorite is the«Salata Mix»). You then proceed to add your veggies, fruits, nuts, cheese, croutons, etc. Protein costs 2 dollar extra. It’s kind of expensive but well worth the price. They have some grilled chicken, chipotle chicken, sea food, and even Vegan Options such as Quinoa and Tofu! They also have so many different kinds of dressing. Two of my favorites are the balsamic vinaigrette and Spicy Chipotle. There is so much variety among all their ingredients that it’s hard not to find something you like. I’d definitely recommend giving Salata a shot if you’re a salad enthusiast, who wants to test their own creativity!

Delicious salads made how you want it, simple, clean and easy. Reasonably priced, I enjoyed this new business and will be back. Healthy and the food is fresh. Everyone is oddly friendly.

This is an awesome Salata. The location is clean, the staff is polite, and everything is fresh. I normally don’t enjoy eating at these«build your own» salad places because of the expensive price, but when I think about all the preparation required to make it myself(and how much room ten Tupperware takes in the fridge), I rather pay the premium. It always ends up tasting better than the salads I make myself anyways! Expect to pay $ 8 for a regular sized salad, or $ 7 for a small size salad. For the difference in price and how much more you get, you might as well get the $ 8. You might not be able to finish the regular size salad if you aren’t used to eating a lot either. You start off choosing a combination/mixture of any of the following: –Romaine Hearts –Spring Mix –Kale –Spinach -«Salata Mix»(which honestly looks like Spring mix to me) Then add any of the following toppings(included in price): Tomato, cucumber, carrots, broccoli, red onion, mushroom, radish, celery, bean sprouts, snow peas, cabbage, bell pepper, artichoke hearts($ 1), corn, cilantro, chick peas, green peas, alfalfa sprouts, red beans, black beans, green olives, black olives, beets, jalapeño, banana peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, jicama(?), avocado($ 1). You can then proceed to add fruits, cheese, nuts, croutons, and more items. Next top it off with your choice of dressings(fresh herb vinaigrette is awesome). Lastly you can add your choice of protein for extra. This is where I think things can get a little expensive. Chicken is an extra $ 3, seafood is $ 4, and vegan protein is $ 3(i.e. quinoa, falafel, tofu). If you don’t want to pay the extra for protein, don’t forget that beans and eggs are a good source too! P.S — I still love Sweet Tomatoes! If only Austin had a location too.

I get the complaints about the high price. I come in here for lunch and usually spend $ 12 for a salad. That’s a bit ridiculous, but no one forces people to pay for a high quality salad. It’s worth it to me. I do wish there were some options like ham and some more varied dressing options. But all in all, it’s a great lunch option that always makes me feel like I’ve chosen a healthy meal. The teas and lemonades are delicious. The smoked turkey protein is my favorite but does cost $ 3 compared to the $ 2 chicken. Give it a shot.

Love this place. Fresh, healthy ingredients, generously portioned, friendly service. Some people complain about the cost. You can get cheaper meals out, but they’ll be made of crap ingredients. The way I look at it is this: There’s no way I could stock this variety of fresh ingredients at home, in quantities to make a great salad, and keep them fresh. There are other salad bars around, but they don’t have nearly as many ingredient choices, and you’d best hope the kid in front of you didn’t grab a handful of that crappy lettuce right after picking his nose. To me, this is what a salad bar should be, and I consider it a good value.

At first the salads were fresh and very tasty. Today the raisins were clumped together, the blue cheese was in one chunk, as was the bacon and the cranberries. I will be passing the next time someone suggest going here. Certainly not worth the money if they are not going to put out a quality salad.

I was thinking this was a salad buffet, it is not. They determine how much of the salad and toppings you can get. You can ask for more and more, but eventually it is like when you ask your grandpa for a little more and he just gives a drop or a crumb and thinks that is funny, the people in line behind you start to grumble and just want you to get out of their way. Who knew that salad eaters were so grumpy? Anyway, I asked for the large salad and started requesting my toppings. Literally they sprinkled just a tiny amount of what I asked for, it was like adding one drop of milk to a bowl of cereal– really? I am not going to even be able to taste that it is so small. So I had to ask for more each time which really irritated some in line behind me. Maybe they need to eat some meat sometime in order to no be so irritable? I don’t know but I was bothering someone… I had my toppings added a little at a time, etc and got to the dressings– there was no Bleu Cheese. Ok, I had come to terms with«grandpa» telling me how much of what I could have on my salad, but when a salad place does not have Bleu Cheese dressing there is something wrong. They had several vinaigrette’s, multiple flavors of Ranch(really, there can be only one) and some other stuff. I asked if there was any Bleu Cheese and they said«no, we don’t have that, would like ranch instead?» Really? Are you kidding me? That is like asking one of the angry vegans behind me to substitute chicken for tofu. Luckily I had a coupon for BOGO I had held onto waiting to take my wife here. She liked her salad just fine. She got the small bowl with chicken, I opted for no protein because I didn’t want to pay and extra $ 2 plus tax on a couple of bits of chicken that would equate to about $ 40 per lb in the store. Ridiculous. My bill was $ 11, so my wife had a small salad for $ 11. Luckily my dry salad(because they did not include on of the most popular dressings every as an item) was free. We had water to drink. It comes with a piece of bread too. If you are looking for a good salad bar at a reasonable price then go to Jason’s Deli or Souper Salad. At least there you won’t have grandpa teasing you and you can get your money’s worth… Don’t waste your money here.

$ 18.00 2 people 1 small salad w chicken 1 wrap with chicken 2 waters Was it good. Sure. Was it OMG-THIS-ISH-IS-SOOOOOOOOOOOOO-GOOD? No. Its a FroYo of salads. Tons of options to chose from, and bam. Thats it. Will it cure my salad craving, not likely. I rather just hit up Jasons Deli for a salad bar at a fraction of the cost. That and it was friggin freezing in there. Like, we went outside to eat, cold.

If you’re looking for a healthy, delicious, and fast place to eat, I highly recommend you check this place out. I’ve been to other salad bars, super salads etc., but this place takes the cake. Super friendly and informative staff ensure I’ll be coming back for more! Great experience all in all. I’d go ahead and get a to go box because the portions of huge! Also, expect to pay ~$ 10.00 but the high quality of ingredients is clear and the price is worth it in my opinion. I’m not a vegetarian but I got tofu, spring mix, sprouts, sun dried tomatoes, carrots, peppers, croutons, walnuts, feta, avocado, and a combo of balsamic and ginger lime. Also splurged for the prickly pear lemonade… Yummmm

I came here after seeing the reviews. The initial impression was fairly good. Tip: order one large salad for two people. Ingredients are fresh but it feels overpriced for what you get. It is only as healthy as your choices. A few wrong decisions and it will be worse than fast food.

Salata upsets me. Here’s why. 1) with 6 types of lettuce /leaves to choose from, I can’t say«there’s nothing for me here» anymore. 2) with a whole array of chopped veggies, beans, peppers, nuts, protein($ 2)and options of a small salad /wrap($ 7), large salad($ 8) and dressing to choose from, I can’t possibly forgo having a healthy meal. 3) with calories per table spoon displayed, I really am guilted into watching what I eat. 4) pita chips. I don’t have a choice, do I? Where everything here is so good, I can’t but have a healthy meal. Rats.

This was my concept back in California that I was going to try and open up in La Palma but could not get enough funds to start it. So, it was very nice to see a similar store open up and actually experience it. I remember Fresh Choice was good while it was open but for the last several years, the Austin area has been without a reliable salad joint(at least from what I knew). I recommend this place completely. Great minds think alike and whoever started Salata had the same vision. It’s high quality salad with a large variety of unlimited toppings. They have delicious protein options for a fair price, too. They make the salads for you behind a sneeze guard but are more than happy to pile them on how you like it. The quantity and price makes this an outstanding value, as well! My family frequents at salad bars when in California and it was very refreshing to see that there is a great place here in Round Rock. Our first time today and we will be back, for sure. I didn’t really care for the General Manager, though. He seemed annoyed that I was ordering salads for my entire family because he had to make those kid’s salad boxes by hand. The female salad chef was very pleasant, though. Nothing really bothered me to a significant degree and I will still stand strongly with my five stars. High quality veggies and more topping choices than most places for a very reasonable price. You can’t go wrong, salad lovers!

Salata is a really fantastic idea — an old buffet idea made better and I really liked it. I came in here with my Mom a few days ago, and this was our first visit. We got big bowls and went through the line adding exactly what we wanted to our salads. Most things,(with a few minor exceptions) were incredibly fresh. The possibilities here are numerous just for salads alone! All of the staff was super friendly and helpful from getting us through the line fast, and adding in an extra person when the line got busy, plus we saw several staff members keeping the dining room clean and picking up bowls when people were done and asking them how their meals were — fantastic! On a hot summer day,(as it was when we came in) this was the perfect option. I also liked that they had tons of types of tea available. I got the tropical tea and it was really interesting and flavorful. I’m definitely coming back to Salata.

As i was scouting Austin I came across Salata. They provide a nice offering of fresh salad items that differ from Souplantation. Unfortunately, it’s not organic but very few chain establishments are. There is a large selection of fresh ingredients. They also offer the much needed protein items such as chicken, salmon etc. Not sure if the fish is wild caught or farm raised. But that might be a question i’ll have to ask on my next visit In need of a fast fresh salad this is the place…

I am in love!!! It’s so awesome to have a quick, healthy casual dining option nearby. It’s a custom built salad assembly line with tons of choices and they don’t skimp! Try a spinach salad with tomato, cucumber, mushroom, green pepper, broccoli, sprouts, cilantro, beets, banana pepper, feta, olives, strawberries, mandarin oranges, mango and pesto chicken. I top it off with the herb vinaigrette. Definitely worth the extra $ 1 to add Artichoke hearts also! Honestly, the regular salad is so big it’s hard to finish — you’d probably be full with the small salad. The $ 9 to $ 12 is worth it for all the different fruits and veggies you’re getting. One tip — the line moves slowly as you build your salad so be prepared for that.

Wow this was our first time here and it is pretty good! The choice of extras for your salad look really good as are the bread that it comes with! Lots of salad dressings to choose from as well, definitely coming back. I had a small salad with marinated herb chicken and Chipotle Ranch dressing. The size of the salad was filling for a small.

Yum! I was craving a light and healthy lunch today and this totally hit the spot. Everything here is kept orderly and clean, which is probably because they make the salads for you. You start near the lettuces and choose whichever kind you want. I went with their house mix of romaine and red cabbage. Then you get to load up on vegetables so I got carrots, red onion, black olives, and cucumbers. They have a multitude of cheeses but I skipped those as I like my salads without them usually. Feta in Greek salads being the only exception. Once you’ve figured out the lettuce and vegetable base, you get to pick what dressing you want. I liked the sound of the fresh herb vinaigrette so I got that one. I asked them to go easy on it and thought it was delicious and just the right amount to give the salad flavor without losing its crunch. Once dressed, you pick your protein. They are laid out beautifully and have 3 different kinds of chicken, seafood, and even tofu. I got the pesto chicken and also added sliced avocado for $ 1. I wanted artichoke hearts, but those would have been another $ 1 which I thought was steep considering that I already paid extra for the chicken too. Bread comes free with each salad so I got a slice of pesto bread to match my chicken. Croutons are free too(and look house made) but I skipped those as well since I had bread. I ordered the small salad and it was huge and filling. You can make it a large for only $ 1 more, but come hungry if you do. They also serve soups, cookies, and brownies. Very good food; I only wish there was a closer location to my house. I also wish they had a normal soda fountain here. Their space aged one makes you hold your cup very still and position it just so for the sensors to detect and add either water or ice. Ain’t nobody got time for dat! This lady can’t keep up with all your technically savvy tricks ;-)

I happened upon Salata looking for some food after shopping at IKEA. I was so excited when I saw the storefront(which is in the center across the street from IKEA) because I have wanted to try it but, I never find myself in this neck of the woods. The parking can be hit or miss because there is a ton of stores packed in the strip mall so, bring your patience. Walking in I noticed they have a large side patio with bistro tables for the warmer seasons. When you open the door the smell of fresh cut vegetables is all that you can notice and this was promising. I thoroughly enjoy salad buffets of all kinds but, I find the quality and freshness of the ingredients usually to be lacking. We were warmly greeted by the lady behind the counter and when I told her that it was our first time there, she gladly explained how it works. You can choose a salad or a wrap and I chose a large salad because the price difference was only $ 1.00 from the small to the large. It seemed like a no brainer. I chose romaine hearts with black olives, sprouts, mixed shredded cheese, bleu cheese, onions, egg, cucumbers, chipotle chicken, chipotle ranch and pesto bread. They had two other options for bread as well and you could also accompany your salad with soup. There isn’t a limit to the number of vegetable toppings that you can pick and they aren’t stingy with the toppings. They only have tea and lemonade as «fountain» beverages but you can get bottled coke, topo chico, etc. for the same price of $ 2.00. They will let you sample the dressings and the different meats if you are unsure what you would like. The toppings tasted like they were just sliced as we were walking in; that is how fresh they were. The dressing was creamy and had a great kick of spice that didn’t overpower the flavor. They also toast your choice of bread and toss the salad with tongs at the end. For me this is awesome because mixing a salad can be frustrating to try to get the dressing fully mixed over the whole thing evenly. Another bonus is the protein toppings are cold. I can’t tell you how many times I go to a salad place and the protein is placed hot on top of a cold salad. A big no no for me! We moved through the line quickly and the place was pretty busy. The service was impeccable. The girl who helped us was knowledgeable, friendly, happy to be at work and I watched her interact with customers on a higher level than most service industry employees. She even took the time to chat/play with him. I hope this place takes off and they open more locations preferably closer to my house!

I had dinner here last night. It was delicious! When you walk in, they’ll ask if you have been to Salata before, and if not they will explain the process. I found out later the lady who helped with our Tutorial was a very important person in the salata organization, like a VP or something. very cool! Directions: You can either a) get salad for $ 8 or a wrap for $ 7. The wraps looked HUGE and delicious but i had to try a salad. 1) So you can pick your lettuce, I went with romaine and baby spinach 2) pick all your toppings. Everything that is not a meat is included. you can sample dressings, also! 3) I added pesto chicken for $ 2 extra. it was delicous and there were no chewy pieces of chicken(*that i ate anyway) and that to me is the mark of a good restaurant. the quality of the ingredients and the manner in which they were served. And the chicken was cold. yay. who wants to eat a cold salad with hot chicken, nobody. These folks got it right 4) You can add you dressing and they toss and serve, or you can be like me and have it on the side. OOOH and you must try the Fat Free Mango dressing, it was bright. fresh and made you feel fresh while eating it SOUP Yesterday they had 3 types of soup 1) Tomato basil 2) Tortilla 3) Broc. cheddar?(I think) You can order a cup for $ 3 or a bowl for $ 4 This place kind of reminded me of Sweet Tomatoes or Souplantation(those of you that are from metro cities i.e. Dallas, Houston, or California. which is the eutopia of soup and salad restaurants) All the ingredients were fresh. There were fresh flowers everywhere. Gigantic balloons shaped like carrots. It was delish. I’d give five stars but being a poor college kid I cant give a full 5 stars on 1) a first visit and 2) $ 10 for a salad. Nursing school is a draining monster but when I can afford this I will. Side notes: I loved they had a plethora of toppings, an array of goodies to put on your salad, grapes, apples, garbanzo beans aka chickpeas, peas, red beans, olives black and green, feta, shredded cheese, blue cheese(but no blue cheese dressing), parm(to go with a Caesar salad) Only thing disappointing to me was that I missed 2 previous opportunities to try this before its grand opening. They provided lunch here at my apartment complex, and they also were offering free lunch on Tuesday from 11 – 2. Argggghhhhh. I could have tried this 2 days sooner! All in all, a must try!
